Summary: A True Classic
Review: I have only seen this movie about 50 times - and it never gets boring - a classic that will endure forever. Dudley Moore is unforgettable as the infamous Arthur Bach. He is generously funny and warm. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is either a romantic, or a drinker, a thief, a rich person or a poor person. There are people/places/scenes in this movie that everyone can relate to.

Summary: One of the two best film performances of Dudley Moore
Review: This movie and "10" place Dudley Moore at the pinnacle of his acting career. A well-made and very funny comedy about a carefree multi-millionaire who's ready to marry a refined heiress until he meets an economically-destitute woman caught in the act of shoplifting. Excellent acting performances are also rendered by the supporting cast; the most notable being that of Sir John Gielgud, who plays Arthur's butler-guardian Hobson. Overall, worth a look-see.

Summary: How dry I am, how dry I am!
Review: A funny, light-hearted romantic comedy about a well-to-do bachelor who falls in love with the woman of his dreams; even though she is from the "other side of the tracks". The only flaw in this movie is that it appears to condone alcoholism and irresponsibility. In this film, these issues can be put aside at least until the picture is over. Dudley Moore is at the height of his acting career and the legendary John Gielgud proves he earned his Oscar in this film. Watching this film makes you want to envy someone like Arthur for being in such a comfortable, carefree scenario.

Summary: Still hilarious
Review: The creators of "Arthur" cagily walked a thin line between fantasy and reality in this wonderfully funny dual love story. (The makers of the sequel lacked their ingenuity.) This is Dudley Moore's peak performance in films. And what can ya say about John Gielgud, who pockets the movie as soon as he enters it. Additionally, while not getting as many of the zingy one-liners as the guys, Liza Minnelli is a total charmer. The entire cast seems to be having a ball: Jill Eikenberry as the vapid fiance, Barney Martin as Liza's slobby dad, Stephen Elliott as Jill's scary dad, and Geraldine Fitzgerald ("Peanuts!") as the raunchy rich aunt. If you can suspend contemporary concerns and attitudes about alcoholism, for a couple of hours, I can't see how "Arthur" would fail to amuse you.

Summary: A devoted fan of Dudley Moore
Review: Arthur is an alltime feel good movie which is well casted and incredibly funny!! Yhere is not better actor than Dudley to play a drunk so convincingly whilst being so funny. The scene where he fall out of the car is brilliant as well as his scene in the restaurant with the hooker! Recommend this to anyone. I have watched this movie at least 20 times! Just brilliant

Summary: A very funny movie!
Review: Hello, this is a movie, not reality!!! No one would want tohave such an individual date or marry their daughter, but it is amovie. Dudley Moore is great even though I also agree he is a one-trick pony. The first 45 minutes are superior to the rest as the movie spends most of its comedy in this time frame and then becomes progressively serious. Altogether it is very funny (even though Liza is a terrible actress) with a great part by Sir John Gielgud and the actress who plays Arthur's grandmother (don't know her name).

Summary: Delightfully funny
Review: Arthur is a wonderful ride through a poor little rich man's life. He's forced to into love only to find true love all by himself. My favorite part of the movie is when Arthur goes searching for Linda and winds up getting into a fight with her neighbor.

Summary: Why buy this video?
Review: This movie is shown on free TV about once a week. It is about a drunk guy who spends a lot of his time slurring his speech and burping. The object of his affection (besides his liquor) is Liza Minelli. That should be proof enough that booze impairs your thinking.

Summary: Dudley Moore is a SCARY DRUNK from dry town, USA!!!
Review: I saw this movie as a child and have yet to get those macabre images of Moore from my memory. Never have i seen a movie in which a drunk is depicted in such a scary manner. Alright i'm just kidding!!! But why is ARTHUR in the horror section?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An all-time classic!
Review: I can watch this film over and over again. There are so many quotable lines of dialogue that I can't even begin. The recently turned 95 year old John Gielgud is excellant as Hobson the butler and nobody tops Dudley Moore's drunken stupor (both happy and sad). Well casted all around. Too bad they made a sequel.
