Summary: Very amusing but dated humor
Review: For kids that grew up with out the "Berlin wall", this film may need some explaining.

Look closely and tell me if the conductor on the train to Berlin is Johnny Carson?
This is the film where I learned a little German (Marcus Powell ...Little German). And Val Kilmer is in top form. Not only must he do some acting, but also sing and dance. When they make the soundtrack, hopefully there will be Little Richard's tune "Tutti Fruitti." I was surprised to find out who the traitor was. So I would not say that the film was adictive. And they used real French names for the underground members. So what is the top secret?

Summary: The Funniest Flick
Review: This has got to be one of the best comedies ever. Val Kilmer is hillarious and a great singer.

Summary: Do you want me to bring out the Leroy Neiman paintings?
Review: This movie is a riot! It is miles better than anything in the "Naked Gun" or "Airplane" series. You laugh and laugh some more throughout the entire movie! Even Val Kilmer is funny. I also liked seeing Omar Sharif and Peter Cushing, even though their parts were small.

Review: This is one of the side-splittingest comedy's ever. If you love slapstic, you'll eat this up. Definatly worth purchasing.

Summary: I grew up with this stuff!
Review: This is one of the first comedies I can remember ever watching at the tender age of six, and although most of the jokes flew directly over my head, I still cracked up, and have done with every subsequent watching. Now that I've gotten older, I can appreciate the more obscure jokes, and that's really at the heart of this movie, and others made by the Abrahams/Zucker team: although "Top Secret" appears low-brow on the surface, the humor really depends on the viewer being at least moderately educated. There's just enough goofiness, though, that even six-year-old sprouts can watch and laugh. (Just pick your words carefully if you get roped into explaining exactly what's happening in that cow suit.) Bear in mind, though, that there are some pretty crude jokes in this movie, so if you're particularly faint of heart, be aware of what you're getting yourself into.

Summary: I Know a Little German
Review: Top Secret is the story of Nick Rivers, an American rock n' roll superstar, who is enlisted by the French underground to rescue Dr. Flammond from the Nazi's during WWII. Of course being that it's written by Jim Abrahams and the Zucker brothers, you can guarantee that it's not as serious as it sounds.

Val Kilmer, in what is easily his best performance, plays the singer Nick. Kilmer handles the straight-faced gag line perfectly, which is what is really needed in a film like this. Most of the really good lines are his and they are really funny.

The supporting cast for this film is a little weak. That may have been intentional, but I doubt it. Previous Abrahams/Zucker movies have always had strong supporting casts and I would expect this one to be no different.

Top Secret isn't as good as Airplane; but it's as close as the Abrahams/Zucker trio have come to matching their masterpiece.

Review: this is val kilmers 1st actual movie. not only is he a talented(not to mention good looking) actor, but he is perfect in this movie. it's made by the same people who created "airplane" so you know it's got to be funny. i love this movie and have litteraly watched it over 25 times. all of the things that happen in this movie will have you rolling on the flore with laughter. i realy recomend this movie. with all the great songs that are song by val and a song "skeet surfing" by the beach boys i wish there was a way i could have the soundtrack. SEE THIS MOVIE!

Summary: A great party movie
Review: I think Top Secret is an ideal movie to be showing in the background at a party, because the plot is simple and the jokes are frequent, so a person could watch for only 10 or 20 minutes at a time, have a few good laughs and enjoy the experience. This movie may not have a complex plot but it serves its purpose - Getting cheap laughs and offending the germans. I'm not that big a fan of slapstick, but this movie is a truly great comedy.
