Summary: Drop Dead Fred
Review: I thought it was excellent. It was funny but also very moving. There was a very strong theme under the comedy. It's the first film that both my little brother of seven, and my mother were laughing. My mother was crying at the end, my brother didn't. I recommended it to everyone in me highschool class.

Summary: Okay, it's not Shakespeare, but neither was Shakespeare
Review: Various points have been brought up about this movie. Point One: Letting your kids see it. I don't have any kids, but I do have a little sister and a neice and a nephew, and there is no way they are getting their hands on this movie until they show some signs of maturity. My sister walked in on the part at the party and I really, REALLY regret it. Point Two: Phoebe Cates. Yes, she's a bit blah, but I think she was supposed to be. She still turned in a solid performance. Point Three: Rik Mayall. Yes, he is incredibly noisy, and irritating at first, but I got used to him pretty quick and started perking up anytime I saw that green suit and the ginger hair. Also, the reason he's so loud is he was trained on stage, and you have to be loud on stage, right? So maybe he wasn't fully adapted to movies yet[...] The thing is, you out there with your "maturity" won't enjoy this at all. This is a movie that appeals to children--- unfortunately you can't let your kids watch it, for fear they'll wipe snot on you instead of giving you a goodnight kiss. But it is dark and funny, even if it does turn all sentimental in the end, I forgive it for that. I love it very much, and so does my best friend, and a friend of mine who is in his fifties, and a lot of other people, too.

Summary: Great movie, some other suggestions
Review: It had been a long time sense I last watched this movie as a teen-ager and I remember my only complaint about it is that I saw it all the time. It must of been on TV 5x a day. Well, that was sometime ago, and I had all but forgotten it. Well recently, I have moved to Europe and I am hooked on British comedies. The English seem to have a sense of humor that has never been portrayed by any American comedian and the one show I was instantly hooked on is a show called "Bottom" starring Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall, the same guy that plays Drop Dead Fred. When I made the connection my jaw dropped. I suddenly remembered this awsome movie and how funny it was. Of course i am upset that it is not on DVD. But anyway, if your looking for more outragous comedy along this line, check-out "Bottom" It hasnt been released in the US yet, but you can find it on sites like Blackstar or DVDworld, youll just need a DVD player that plays multiregional, or try to catch the show on US BBC. If you liked Drop Dead, youll love all of Rik Mayalls other works. He is one of the few people who deserve the title of comic genius.

Review: If you're a pheobe cates fan, you'll love this movie. She's absolutely gorgeous in this movie and as the movie progress, she gets even prettier! This movie is really funny also. I was cracking up!Also, go get "princess caraboo". She rarely speaks in this movie, but she has alot of charm which made it unnecessary for her to talk. Great music also! Not a kid movie! I bought this movie becuz I need a good movie to help me sleep! This is one of those movies that I will play in my VCR often!

Summary: You Have To Be Careful What You Tell Them
Review: When my step-kids were 11 and 9, they LOVED this movie (and I did too). During one viewing, they asked me why someone would have an imaginary friend. Both said they had never had one. I told them that, based on what we were seeing in Drop Dead Fred, children invent imaginary friends because they are having hard times with childhood, they might have sad family problems or mean parents. Inventing an imaginary friend is apparently one way to cope with such conditions. Well, the kids took this information to school with them, and spread it all around. Seems a few of the kids in their social orbits had (or in the past had had) imaginary friends, so all of a sudden it is rumored in school that these kids come from abusive or problem homes with bad or mean mothers. Children were upset, teachers worried, parents outraged and so forth... and it all got blamed on me. Drop Dead Fred is a terrific movie, but if your kids ask you any questions about imaginary friends, just tell them you don't know. You won't regret doing so.

Summary: PUT IT ON DVD!
Review: Drop Dead Fred is a hilarious movie! It was my favorite movie as a child. With our satellite I would watch it 3 times in one day! I realize that it may not seem appropriate for children, BUT when I watch it now, I catch "dirty" jokes and sexual content that I had not noticed when I was little. I just loved the parts with Fred in them - I didn't pay attention to the other characters as much or what they were doing. So you may want to monitor your children watching it somewhat, but then again, they probably won't notice anything nasty. Please, let's get it on DVD!

Summary: Buying the movie to save money on renting it for my kids!!!
Review: My girls, ages 10 and 7, LOVE this movie. they laugh every time they watch it. We've probably rented it at least 7 times. That's enough for me to go ahead and buy it. I'm sure I'll have to replace it with a DVD version later. It's a wonderful movie for kids... one that they'll enjoy over and over again!!

Summary: Best EVER,dont need to say anymore
Review: I've watched this movie at least 30 times since i first rented it, i love this movie more than i love my life. This movie is what i belive formed my duranged sense of humor. Was hoping theyd come out with it on DVD, but doesnt look like it, so ill just have to buy a VCR. Yes, i will buy a vcr just to see this movie. You watch it, or you suffer the wrath of an angry fat person.
