Summary: Highly Entertaining, Highly Overlooked
Review: Me, Myself, and Irene was the much anticipated follow up to There's Something About Mary. The problem was that when it hit the theaters, the hype had gone, and the movie did not do as well as anyone could have anticipated. The truth is that many moviegoers missed one of Jim Carrey's funniest performances.Carrey plays the mild mannered Rhode Island Trooper who has a split personality. He is now Hank, and Charlie. He then has to escort a prisoner back to New York so she can pay off a parking ticket. Renee Zellweger does a decent job as the prisoner, but the real laughs come from the over the top performance from Carrey. There are many gags in this film that push what should be done to people, but you are still laughing despite of all that you see. This film was sadly overlooked in its theatrical run due to other summer films such as Scary Movie, and the horrible Nutty Proffesor II. This film is much better than both of those, and deserves a second look on video and DVD.

Review: "Me, Myself & Irene" is a typical Farrelly-Brothers movie. Jim Carrey plays a friendly police trooper called Charlie, who is left by his wife. For 18 years he lives a normal life, but then he freaks out and his evil alter-ego Hank appears. Too bad that this just happens when Charlie has to escort the cute Irene (Renée Zellweger) to another state.
This movie is a mixture of the Farrelly classic "Dumb & Dumber" and Stevenson's "Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde". Sometimes the weird gags make you laugh tears, while others are simply too stupid. Jim Carrey is the perfect actor for the role of Charlie/Hank and he really does a great job. He deserved a better script than this one, which is just a dull variation of "Dumb & Dumber". "Me, Myself & Irene" is definitely no masterpiece but if you like brainless entertainment with bad taste humor, you should take a look at this one. The best thing about this movie is the great soundtrack.

Summary: Best Comedy Ever
Review: This movie is absolutely the most hilarious comedy ever. Jim Carrey plays an amazing role as does Renee Zellwegger. I give this movie 5 stars for the constant laughter it causes and for the awesome script and cast.

Summary: A hilarious movie, a great DVD
Review: You can imagine my suprise when I saw that the overall customer rating for this DVD was only 3 stars. My question is, why? Jim Carrey's performance was top notch, and when paired up with Renee Zellweger the combination was unbeatable. I wont harp on the storyline too much, instead I'll give you a very short summary. Charlie Bailey Gates (Jim Carrey) is a Rhode Island State Trooper who loses the ability to stick up for himself after his wife leaves him. Due to his inability to do this he develops a split personality, and his darker side, Hank, attempts to stick up for him, even in the most inapporpriate situations. Ultimately both sides of Charlie fall in love with Irene (Rene Zellweger) and conflict ensues with hilarious results. The DVD itself is extremely well presented and has many great features. Some of the extra features included are deleted scenes with optional commentary, production vignettes, and the Foo Fighter music video "Breakout". The now standard scene selection is (of course) also included. All in all if your a fan of Jim Carrey or just the Comedy genre in general I highly recommend "Me, Myself & Irene" on DVD.

Summary: Funny movie, no plot
Review: I actually enjoyed watching this movie, but it's definitely not for everyone. It's vulgar, and it relies mostly on gross-out humor. I'm a huge Jim Carrey fan, so there's a slight bit of bias (which I have tried to account for in my modest 3 star rating). Weaknesses: The acting (with the exception of Jim Carrey and the three sons) is TERRIBLE in this flick. Rene Zelwegger goes from Jerry Maguire to this? You've got to be kidding. The plot is also weak, and you'll find yourself banging your head against your cup holder at Carrey's character's stupidity. Strengths: Jim Carrey and the three sons make this movie. Carrey's return to physical comedy is an impressive one. The humor of the three sons is profanity laden, but it's good for many laughs. Also, I LOVED the soundtrack to this movie. Steely Dan reworks comprise the base of the musical score (and as a huge Dan fan, I have to love that). Bottom Line: If you want a good laugh this summer, see Irene. If you want to watch a FILM instaed of a movie, go see the Gladiator.

Summary: Gross in parts but it grows on you
Review: The first time I watched this I thought it was fairly gross with way too much reliance on sexual/bathroom humor. However after seeing it again there are some incredibly funny performances that make this one worth owning. Jim Carrey is the only actor on the planet who could pull off the transitions between the dual personalities of Charlie and Hank. His facial expressions and physical comedy are the heart and soul of this movie. I think the 3 guys who play his sons are hysterically funny and their profanity laced speech cracks me up every time they make an appearance. These three guys are the most foul-mouthed geniuses to ever appear in a film. Rene Zellwinger is very good in her role as well. Overall this is a pretty decent comedy with some very quotable scenes. For fans of Dumb and Dumber(and we know you're out there) this is a must.

Summary: A FUNNY AND FILTHY FARCE...
Review: If you are a fan of the Farrelly brothers other movies, "King Pin", "There's Something About Mary", and "Dumb and Dumber", then you will really enjoy this movie. The Farrelly brothers and Jim Carrey are a match made in heaven. Their style suits Carrey's, as the movie is full of the physical comedy and sight gags which are Carrey's forte. This is a pretty funny, though somewhat sophomoric, movie. It is also pretty filthy, at times, and definitely not for the movie goer of delicate sensibilities. There is something to offend just about everyone, so be prepared. The basic premise of the movie is simple. A Rhode Island state trooper, Charley Baileygates, played by Jim Carrey, marries the prettiest and smartest girl in town. After she gives birth to triplets for whom Charley could not possibly be the father, for reasons obvious to the viewer, she later leaves him for another man, her soul mate and likely father of the triplets. She leaves Charley with the triplets, whom he raises as his own. The cuckolded Charley goes on to become the town joke and a seriously repressed man. Eighteen years later, he snaps and begins to express his anger through an alternate personality and quintessential bad boy who calls himself Hank. Hank has attitude and plenty of it, and he lets everyone know that he is mad as hell and is not going to take it anymore. Charley's superiors send him to be evaluated, and he is given medication to control his psychiatric disorder. Enter Irene, played by Rener Zellweger. Charley is asked to escort her to upstate New York where she is ostensibly wanted on a hit and run. Unbeknownst to either of them, she is being hunted down by dirty cops who are looking to silence her, as it is believed that she may have information that could take down her crooked ex boyfriend who is being investigated by the EPA. During their trip, Hank, Charley, and Irene have a host of advantures, which are often hilarious, as Charley and Hank battle over who will become the dominant personality. The low key Zellweger is a good foil for the rubber faced Carrey's physical comedy. As Charley and Irene are pursued by the dirty cops, the now grown triplets, funny and profane, also add another element, as they go to their father's rescue. The DVD has something for everyone, as it has a plethora of bonus features. It is a DVD that all Carrey fans should have in their collection.

Review: How does this movie only get 3 out of 5 when it is one of his classic movies he plays a Paranoid Schitrzophrenic with Split Personality wich would officially never happen but still.He beats him self up and stuff not Dumb and Dumber but still he does some great acting in this and should get some credit

Review: This is not even a film. It's a very bad excuse for Jim Carrey to make faces. No story. No plot. Just very embarrassing. I wish Carrey soon would do a serious movie.

Summary: CARREY SHINES, AND PROVIDES THOSE 3 MOMENTS THAT'RE FUNNY
Review: The film follows what I have come to believe is Jim Carry's usual trend: his comedy talents are showcased brilliantly under the pretext of a schizo character, but the movie somehow doesn't cut it overall. It is too disjointed, with too many things running in parallel, very few of them really too high on the humor factor. Carrey's physical twitches aside, Renee Zellweger is absolutely frittered away, serving the vital role of providing that little side-order of chickflick flavor. She is a damsel in distress so haplessly out of options, we are led to believe, that she *must* choose between two equally idiotic choices: the hunky Hank who's perpetually on a cheesy sexual over-drive, or the knuckleheaded yet kind Charlie. As though the disconcern for a meaningful plot were not bad enough, the movie also wallows in its "politically incorrect" agenda by defining its targeted characters as laughable representations -- a hotheaded dwarf, a timid albino, Charlie's overweight black sons, tortured animals (including a chicken stuffed deep into a man's behind) and a dazed narrator. What can one say. A passable comedy, probably no more than a rental for an evening when you've plenty to talk with friends alongside the movie.
