Summary: Hold On
Review: Ok, a lot of these reviews are saying that this film is pretty good but predictable and unoriginal and not worth the time. I still fall into the "teenage girl" category, so I'm probably biased. There are lots of movies out there that are original and innovative, but there are lots and lots and LOTS of movies that are, at the core, just the same old story we've heard a thousand times. What makes them original is the way they are portrayed. There's not a lot original about the story being told in "She's All That", but no one's trying to pretend that there is. Laney says it herself: "I feel just like Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman'." What I fouund so enjoyable about the movie was the whole tounge in cheek, almost satirical attitude. That's what made the movie fun and different. There were different film styles used, and because no one in their right mind watching the movie would take the story realistically, it freed the directory up to have fun with it. Case in point: the dance scene at the prom. That's the director telling you: I know this is not realistic. I mean, no one brings the soccer team to your house to clean it for you, or has their sister give you a makeover until you're fit to be seen with them. Kids don't break into choreographed dance numbers on the spur of the moment. It's not supposed to be real, it's supposed to entertain, which I think it does very well, not by being an original story but by being enjoyable and fun, and original in other ways besides the story. It's definitely at least a step above the average "teenage girl" flick.

Summary: The best of the new crop of teen movies!!
Review: I am a high school sophmore and I would just like to say that Iloved this movie! There have been a lot of disparging reviews aboutthis movie at imdb and amazon, but I disagree with all of them.

This movie makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. The ending is perfect. And there are tons of hilarious moments distributed throughout:

Dean: Is that a no? Laney: That's a hell no!

This movie was so much better than any of the other teen movies that are out now (i.e American Pie and Election). It was so hilarious! How can you help not falling in love with both Zac and Laney? They are both so loveable! And you love to hate Dean and Taylor, the "bad guys". Everything works out perfectly in the end, though.

The only bad thing iss that this movie represents an unrealisitc view of high school life. All of the characters are rich (Preston's dad owns a chain of car dealerships and has a house the size of a large hotel). Laney is supposed to be "poor" because her father owns a pool cleaning business, but even she has a large house with a pool in her backyard. All of the kids drive jeeps or convertibles and this is what reminds most viewers of "Clueless" when they watch this movie. However, I would definitely give this movie a 10 out of 10. There was one part of the movie that was bizarre though: Laney did not look so bad in the beginning of the movie. Obviously, when they worked on her a bit, she would look fantastic. But, are we supposed to believe that Zac's little sister Mac gave Laney her big makeover? I mean, half of the girl's hair was cut off and shaped into a new 'do. Could a 16 year old really accomplish all of that? If Mac was so I did like Mac's role though. Simon(Laney's brother) was one of the few loveable siblings that you see in the movies, and of course, I LOVED Matthew Lillard as Brock. And the cameos by Li'l Kim and Sarah Michelle Gellar from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" were great (you have to look hard to find her- she doesn't even speak).

Summary: It actually has a good plot!!!!!!!!!
Review: The movie was wonderful!!!!!!! Most teennage movies are just for intertainment, but this paticular one also has a plot! The cast is great and it teaches you that everyone has a little dork in them somewhere and you never know who this dork is inside. I'd love!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Freddie Prinze Jr. rocks and so does the movie!
Review: I was really excited when this movie came out because I'm a Freddie Prinze Jr. freak. I thought that he would be the only good actor, but I was wrong. Rachael Leigh Cook was really good. Of course, Freddie Prinze Jr. looked totally hot. H-O-T HOT! I could watch this movie over and over again. The best teenage comedy and love story ever. Freddie, you rule!! I recommend it to anybody who has taste in movies.
