Review: "The Parent Trap" with Lindsay Lohan is a wonderful remake of the Hayley Mills original; warm, touching, and very funny. Great supporting characters with good chemistry between Quaid and Richardson. I can't say enough about Lindsay Lohan's performance. She was tremendous, and most delightful to watch. My compliments to the entire cast. WELL DONE!!!!

Review: great story,fabulous acting,especially lindsay lohan in the lead role,top notch soundtrack by alan silvestri and a great directing job by nancy meyers all add up to make this movie easly one of the great films of all time..if not the best.not only is this film a lot of fun..but also it is very touching and finally a great love story with a beautyful ending.

Summary: And I thought the original flick was outstanding...
Review: ...but this new modern remake is just as outstanding, because it doesn't lose the feel of the first one. With no mention of the real-life crisis which has a great impact on children of divorced parents, I thought the movie was well-planned, put together, and had all its ducks in a row. I'm very surprised, however, that the Olsen twins were not portrayed as the twins in this flick, but Lindsey Lohan did great playing "two parts." Bravo!

Review: I love this movie! Especially for a remake of a movie, I thought it was excellent! I have seen it 5 times already! Lindsay Lohan does a great performance along with Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson! I think this is a great family movie!

Summary: The Parent Trap: A great remake of a great classic
Review: My sister and I went to see "The Parent Trap" last summer ('98) when it first came out and we both thought it was great. I bought the video just before Christmas '98 as well and thought again that it was brilliant. I watched it again with my family on Mother's Day ('99) and they all thought it was great as well. Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson make for two great parents and Lindsay Lohan is charming as their little nippers Hallie Parker and Annie James. Although the original films are always better than remakes I think that in the case of "The Parent Trap" we have a worthy successor. Of course it must be the charm of the Disney magic that makes a great remake. I highly reccomend this movie to everyone. It's well worth a look.

Review: I love this movie very much. The two girls are so cute, and the story is well written. But I don't like my children watch this video. Essentially the divorce was very cruel for children, and after all the parents were selfish.

Summary: Wishful thinking, travesty for children.
Review: It's amazing to read all the positive "5-star" reviews of this movie. I think one reviewer got it straight by pointing out the devestation of divorce on children. There is always room for fantasy in film and fiction. However, a movie about murder, for example, would never be classified as "heart-warming". I am not in favor of censorship so they may go on making movies like this for as long as they want, but it doesn't mean anyone has to buy into the lies inherent in the

plot. Children suffer horribly from the failures of their parents to stay married. And the parents DO NOT reunite in the end, so raising the childrens' hopes is rather cruel--unless one can regard this as an escape from an unpleasant reality. Movies like this raise good questions, though, such as whether such fantasies provide escapism or false hopes.
