Rating: Summary: :) :) :) :) :) Review: My friend and i went to see this movie together, and we had a BLAST! Amanda Bynes stars in this movie. I'm a fan of hers, so I was anticipating this movie greatly. Amanda is Daphne, a teen who lives in Chinatown with her former pop star mother, who now performs at parties and weddings, taking Daphne along as a waitress. She gets sick of seeing father-daughter dances, when her father is a British lord who doesn't know she exists. The aristocrat is played by Colin Firth. Daphne goes to England to see her father. She meets a boy named Ian, played by the super-hott Oliver James (after the movie my friend and i were fighting over who liked him more- we each had a DESPERATE crush!). Then Daphne goes to the palace, where she stays. Her new step-mother and step-sister make life miserable. But she and Henry Dashwood, her father, get close. But she, along with Ian, make a little too much mayhem, so as Henry gets loose (we see him dancing in tight leather pants!), Daphne gets stiff, blowing off Ian for the queen's royal tea! In the end, everything turns out great...predictably. Though this is a 'chick flick' and predictable, it was still a fun watch. :)
Rating: Summary: This movie rocks Review: The DVD has not yet come out yet, but this movie is the best. The soundtrack is awesome and I also give that 5 stars. I saw this movie about two months ago and I can't wait to buy the DVD. This movie is really sweet and here's why. Daphnie never had a father as he became royalty over in London. So when she is 17, she goes over there to meet him. He takes her in and she is being herself. Soon after, he becomes embarassed and she then has to dress like all the other girls (which are very ugly clothes). The ending is a happy one and pretty perdictable. Go out and at least rent this one, because it's a keeper!
Rating: Summary: What a Girl Wants Review: Amanda Bynes(The Amanda Show,Big Fat Liar,What I Like About You) stars in 'What a Girl Wants' a comedy about a 17 year-old girl who does not know her father who lives in London. So Amanda's character takes off on her own to go to London to meet her father(Colin Firth). While in London she finds out that her father is not only royal but engaged! So during her time in London she has to learn to live the royal life and also stop her father from getting married! This movie is a movie for all ages! Girls and Boys! Everyone will love it!!
Rating: Summary: pretty darn good Review: I Liked This Movie Allot. It Was Cute , Sweet , and Hysterical In Every Way. Amanda Bynes Can Act And She's Got The Looks To Save A Bad Movie. Unfortunately That Doesn;t Matter Here Because Other Than Being Predictable This Was Great. Okay So It Might Be A Chick Flick But This Can Hold Off Without Getting Too Mushy. Overall A Perfect 10+.
Rating: Summary: Colin Firth Does it Again Review: Fun movie, nice story and all the characters were perfectly cast.Colin Firth was wonderful as Lord Henry Dashwood and I think he made the movie work. There is something about Colin Firth that just makes you want to see all of his movies and he never disappoints!Old story, happy ending but delightful to watch especially in our troubled times. Just plain entertainment!

Rating: Summary: Fun for its genre Review: What a fun movie---if you're a girl aged 8 to 80. If you're a guy, well this movie could be a drag. For young girls, Amanda Bynes is a goofy, charming role model. Yes the story stretches incredulity-a 17-year old hops a plane to England to find her long lost father-but that is part of fun. For Moms and older sisters, Colin Firth is the father and he is the worth the price of admission. Plus, for "Four Weddings and a Funeral" fans, "Duckface" plays Firth's scheming fiancee. Suspend reality and go enjoy yourself.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing and heart-warming! Review: This is the first film I have seen in years where there is no filthy language, no inappropriate behavior, nothing that my 8-year-old daughter couldn't see! It is adorable and heart-warming. Very entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Wondeful Review: Amanda Bynes is awsome in this movie. A very kind hearted movie for all ages , and it was to see Amanda in kind of a more serious role , but still with comedy. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: What a Good Movie! Review: Admittedly this movie was to say the least... predictable. It was none the less, enjoyable. "What a Girl Wants" is very much a modern retelling of the classic Cinderella tale, except in this case, the father is the goal and not Prince Charming. "Girl" is the story of a 17-year-old American teenager, Daphne, who goes to London, England in search of her dad. Of course as soon as the teen arrives in the heart of Britan, she finds her father on television, as well as finding a singer who she instantly falls in love with. These sequences are, expected. But what must be remembered is that this is after all a children's comady, and children don't take well to complex films. She then goes in persute of her father, who just happens to be an English Lord. This puts in place a sequence of events in which Daphne is expected to be proper, failing at every attempt. Eventually she learns what is expected of her (at the price of her individuality) and begins to score points for her father in his persute of a seat in the House of Commons. But Daphne is of course miserable, and eventually gives up and returns home to America. But as is expected, her father, (and her boyfriend of course) follow her home and all is a happy ending. Yeah, this film is predictable, corny, childish, whatever. So why did I give it five stars? Becouse, admitt it, when you go to see this film, that is EXACTLY what you are hopeing for! The inner message of this film is that of individuality and being yourself at any cost, and frankly that is a lesson children, and all of us perhaps, need to hear. That reason and many others are why I recommend, if you have children, or are a big kid yourself, you should take the time and see "What a Girl Wants". No, it's not profound, no it won't change your life, but it will make you laugh, and that's worth my ticket money in my book!
