Rating: Summary: The Waterboy is LOL Funny Review: I wasn't sure if I was going to like this movie because I thought it was going to be another tacky and tasteless movie by another "Saturday Night Live" alum. In "The WaterBoy", Adam Sandler is the "SNL" alum. However, I liked this movie and actually thought it was pretty funny. Adam Sandler plays Bobby Boucher, a dimwitted waterboy for the University of Louisiana's football team. Bobby Boucher lacks social skills and is always ridiculed and picked on by the football players. After having had enough of Bobby's stupidity, Coach Red fires him. Bobby Boucher immediately seeks another waterboy position and gets hired by Coach Klein (who heads South Central Louisiana State University's football team). Soon, this crazy coach puts Bobby on the team when he sees how powerful Bobby becomes when he gets angry ("tackling fuel" as Coach Klein puts it). Now that Bobby is on the team, he helps them move from last place to first place. He also gets the chance to go to college and improve his social skills with his new-found friends. This movie was good because Bobby Boucher was an inspiration to his fans, his teammates, and most importantly, to Coach Klein. Bobby inspires Coach Klein to stand up against his long-time arch-rival (Coach Red) who stole his treasured book of game plans in order to get the head football coach position at the University of Louisiana. Coach Klein finally stands up against Coach Red and regains his manhood. This movie was also good because it contained lots of funny supporting characters like Bobby's crazy, in-and-out of jail girlfriend Vicki Vallencourt, a coach that talked gibberish, Coach Klein (played by Harry Winkler), and Mama Boucher (played by Kathy Bates). Kathy Bates gave a terrific, comic performance as Bobby Boucher's overprotective, if psychotic, mother. Harry Winkler also gets honorable mention for giving a funny performance as the crazy and hallucinatory Coach Klein. Of course, kudos go to Adam Sandler for playing a character that was funny, lovable, and sympathetic. "The WaterBoy" was short and to the point and it managed to be funny without falling into the retarded or the grotesque.
Rating: Summary: A Disaster! Review: I'm a big fan of Adam Sandler's but man, did this movie ever suck! It's garbage!......there's nothing good about it. It's Sandler's worst attempt at a comedy. And why is the Fonz in there?
Rating: Summary: Silly, but has a message. Review: I was expecting this movie to be unbelievably silly and stupid (it is Adam Sandler), but it was truly funny and I enjoyed it. He plays the water supplier for a losing college football team. After tackling a player after he was teased, he is wanted by the coach to play. But his mother (Kathy Bates) has sheltered him because she doesn't want to lose him. She doesn't want him to play. Fairuza Balk is his girlfriend and stands beside him even though he isn't popular. Most people thought he was stupid or slow, but he really didn't develop people skills because of his mother's sheltering. The movie tries to show that parents need to let go of children a little to help them to learn to survive. But the film's primary goal is to entertain and be funny.
Rating: Summary: A very fun comedy to watch! Review: I loved this movie! It was very funny and Adam Sandler can really act. It's one of those fun movies you'll wanna watch over again. Everyone should see this!
Rating: Summary: Funny Movie Mixed With Wrestling, Football, and Comedy Review: This is my kind of movie, at has all the stuff i like. It has wrestling football and comedy. I think the best part is when he power bombs the other guy on the field, i thought that was the best part. I also like the football hits on the movie. I think this a funny movie, so buy is here at Amazon!
Rating: Summary: ROCK ON, WATERBOY! Review: Adam Sandler does it again. Continuing in the sports tradition from Happy Gilmore, Sandler plays the "Waterboy" who decides he wants more than that position in life. He becomes the star of the football team, goes back to school, and gains an interest in girls. Now he has to worry about Mama (Kathy Bates) who told him never to play "foosball" and "little girls are the devil". Henry Winkler turns in a funny performance as Sandler's Coach with an interesting tattoo of Roy Orbison. Adam Sandler works with a great writing team and actors who keep you laughing almost every minute. Waterboy should have been included in the SANDLER COLLECTION 3 pack DVD instead of Bulletproof, which was Sandler's only weak film. Waterboy is hilarious, which is what Sandler and his crew does best. "HIGH QUALITY H20!!!"
Rating: Summary: Not Adams funniest. Review: This movie is funny but not as funny as happy gilmore or billy madison. Only buy this if you really like adam sandler movies.
Rating: Summary: You Can Do It! Review: This a great movie. It's not Adam's best (Wedding Singer), or funniest (Happy Gilmore), but it sure is a hell of a great movie. It's a story of a waterboy for a football team who starts playing fooball for the team. He's great. But he has to pass an exam to make it into college before he can play the championship game... I don't want to tell you the rest. If you want to find out, just see for yourself and buy the movie. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Adam Sandler's best so far Review: "The Waterboy" is definitely the best Adam Sandler movie so far in my opinion. He plays a waterboy that is babied by his mom until everybody finds out he's a good tackler and he gets on the football team. He becomes the heart and soul of the football team and everybody, even the ones who bullied him to begin with or made fun of him, start rooting for him the more he plays. For awhile, there is skepticism about whether he should get to play or not because he doesn't have a high school education, and his mom doesn't want him to do anything but stay home. I recommend "The Waterboy" to anybody who likes good comedy movies so you can see how it turns out and how far the waterboy will be able to take his football team. "The Waterboy" does have a few parts in it that are kind of stupid, but most of the movie is hilarious.
Rating: Summary: True Comedy Mixed with Football Review: This is a funny movie. What makes this movie funny? The characters: making fun of Louisana, the cajun accents and cajuns appearence in general. This movie had some good football action.
