Rating: Summary: Horrible worst Adam Sandler film yet. Review: It was really borring and not that funny. I cant see how some of these people give it a 5 star its barley worth a 1 star.
Rating: Summary: Sandler is getting old Review: Why, oh, why can't Adam Sandler start making FUNNY films again? Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore had me rolling with laughter, but this bomb is absolutely horrible! There's scarcely a humorous moment in this picture, and Sandler's plot formula is really getting monotonous. By the way, avoid Big Daddy as well. Sandler really needs to learn to some new tricks.
Rating: Summary: One of The Worst Movies Ever Made Review: I like Adam Sandler, but there was nothing funny about this movie at all.It is just plain stupid. Not even worth one star or a review.Pure garbage.
Rating: Summary: BEST MOVIE OF 1998! Review: The Waterboy was by far the greatest film flick, in Adam Sandler's current acting career. The Excited Southerner goes to the big screen! If you are an Adam Sandler fan, you must see this movie. Kathy Bates, and Henry Winkler add to the unstoppable laughter, in which Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler) becomes the star lineman for the South Central Louisiana State University Football Team!
Rating: Summary: This movie was painfully boring to watch!!!! Review: This movie was boring, slow, and poorly written. Watching this movie made me sick. Adam Sandler is usually very funny, but in this movie he played an extremely lifeless character. Overall, I would have rather watched a Golden Girls marathon.
Rating: Summary: And to think.. the Wedding Singer was GOOD!!!!!!! Review: I should have known better than to even think I would like this movie. I like Adam Sandler, but....I hate football, and the two just don't mix at all. I guess Drew Barrymore must bring out the best in 'ol Adam. Happy Gilmore and the Wedding Singer were MUCH better!!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Waterboy-- Proof of the " I like Adam Sandler Syndrome" Review: The Waterboy left me scratching my head after watching it on DVD. I found myself wondering why this movie made so much damn money. Adam Sandler was pathetic in his role as a backwoods dullard that went from waterboy to football superstar. He seemed to be playing a much dumber and annoying Forest Gump. Kathy Bates as the insanely overprotective mother was much less annoying than Sandler but still could have been better. It seemed to me that "The Waterboy" tried too hard to make her funny in every seen. Too much snake eating, squirrel shocking, and hair brushing. The whole reference to "the devil" was too repetitive. The transition from her insanity to sanity in the whole hospital scene had no foundation. I thought Henry Winkler was okay as the Football coach with a few nuts and bolts loose. The scene with the Roy Orbison tatoo was shamefully the most intelligent in the movie. Farmer Fran was a total enigma to me. Was it supposed to be funny that you had absolutely no idea what he was saying? I always think that its what people say and do that is funny not what they sound like or move like. I'm not a big fan of the whole waterboy- gets-hit-with-football-everbody-giggle-philosophy.
Rating: Summary: So stupid, it wasnt even funny Review: I personally thought this was the stupidest movie ever. I'll admit, i am a big fan of Adam Sandler, but his performance in this movie sucked. There was nothin remotely humorous about this movie at all. It got soo ridiculous that i actually walked out of the theater. That bad?~ yes! Not worht it at all....
Rating: Summary: Adam and Henry are a great combo! Review: Adam Sandler is hilarious and Henry Winkler is a great actor and together they make the movie so funny! If you're a fan of either men, this movie is for you!
Rating: Summary: TO THE "CRITICS" THAT INSULTED THE MOVIE... Review: Personally, I loved this movie! Adam Sandler, Henry Wrinkler, and Kathy Bates were all fantastic! However, I do have a problem with other reviewers who insulted this film. It is not the film that I have a problem with you insulting, it is the people who watched the film and enjoyed it! I have read at least eight reviews with "critics" derogating the intelligence of an audience of people they do not even know because we enjoyed a movie they did not! Hint: Have you all ever heard of "variety" and "diversity"? If you didn't like the movie, fine. You have that right, I and many others, however; loved it! I am not stupid or a "nitwit" as one viewer put it. I am simply an indiviual with an individual mind and opinion. I laughed because I thought it was funny...that does not make me stupid. I (and I am sure many other viewers)don't analyze every single aspect of a movie and rule it the worst movie of all time simply because it didn't fit my criteria of what I am "suppose" to feel and what I am "suppose" to be thinking. It was a good solid comedy that showed a different side of Henry Wrinkler and Kathy Bates that I was very impressed with. Also, I don't think this comedy was "empty" or "mindless". It offered some insights on life's philosophy's, but it just didn't do it in the traditional "movie" way. Hats off to the entire cast of Waterboy especially the writers of it! dllewis
