Summary: What Gives?
Review: This is very bad comedy. I liked the first film but this is a parody of a parody. It is the worst thing that a comedy can be (BORING). The picture quality and sound are first rate (the colors really jump). The best thing on this DVD are the music videos, particularly "American Women" (IT ROCKS) Almost worth buying the video just for it.

Summary: IT SHAGS LIKE A LION, BABY, YEAHHHH!
Review: funniest movie I've seen in a long, long time. I suggest renting it; it's not very funny the second time around, since spontaneous one-liners are what make up most of the humor. But in that first time, holy Christ it's funny. Dr. Evil is awesome.

Summary: Better luck next time...
Review: When I saw "The Spy Who Shagged Me" in the theater, I thought it was much better than the first. But having watched both pictures over again, there is no question in my mind that the first was far superior. Besides the recycling of jokes, skits, and spoofs from the original, the sequel offers very little new material. Unfortunantly, the material available relys too heavily on raunchy and tasteless humor and lacks the spunk and creativity from the original. If you are a diehard fan, buy it! If not don't waste the money.

Summary: Not awful, but certainly not up to the original
Review: Technically, this DVD is an example of some very fine production work. Sound and Picture quality are excellent. The extras are also very nicely done, but unfortunately, this is where it ends. As a huge fan of the first movie, I can honestly say that the performances and writing of this sequel is very strained and unnatural. Yes there are recycled jokes, but you should expect that in a sequel. My objection is that the completely contrived manner in which these jokes are presented detracts from the rest of the film. When new "bits" are finally presented, it is like a comedic oasis found after the long dry spell of forced humor. Minor, but still worth mentioning, is the amazingly blatant promotion of products during the film. The combination of this with the other defects made this film a worthy rental, but not purchase-Not awful, but certainly not up to the original.

Summary: No matter how old you are you can like this movie....
Review: Austin Powers 2, was a great movie. With tons of weird and silly plots the movie had a very funny perspective. Now before, My mom couldn't stand Wayne's World. Then I told her that Mike Myers played in "So I Married a Ax Murderer" She then wanted to see Austin Powers. By then she knew how he was "normal" and enjoyed the film! . I suggest that if you don't like this type of stuff see the comedy movie "So I Married an Ax Murderer~" Then come back and see Austin Powers. You will enjoy it more! members.xoom.com/austinps/

Summary: This kicks for a sequel
Review: Sequels are never as good as the original, but this movie is about the best you can do. They did run some of the old jokes into the ground, but overall it was another awesome Austin Powers movie. I loved it!

Summary: Really-funny in a stupid sort of way
Review: Like others have said, this is a "funny" movie, but the comedy is not for all audiences. You'll either find the movie really hilarious, or outright stupid, depending on your tastes.

The DVD transfer quality is excellent, better than I expected. Some people don't like the fact that the transfer is anamorphic (not 4:3), but well if that's your attitude, then maybe DVDs should downgrade to using linear stereo PCM audiotracks, right? After all, Dolby AC3 is a COMPRESSED audio format, and most DVD-enthusiants still don't have a Dolby Digital receiver.

The DVD version comes with lots of extra supplementary material. Personally, I don't bother with the supplementary material. I skimmed through some of it and I'd say most of its is just stock videotape footage of interviews, nothing really revolutionary (Matrix had *excellent* special features content...too bad it caused playback problems with so many DVD players.)

Summary: Shagnificent!
Review: This movie is the greatest movie of all time! It's one of the funniest movies of all time! I watch it like every day. the picture and sound quality w/ the dvd are spectacular.

Summary: Not as good as the original
Review: Not up to the standard of the first film (too much is simply repeated from the first film). However, still very funny.

The best bit of this DVD is the plethora of extra fetures, with some very good out-takes. Also, the quality of the picture is amongst the best I have in my DVD collection and the sound is excellent (although it does not really get the chance to shine like, say, the Matrix).

Overall, an excellent package for an above average to very good film.
