Rating: Summary: Those Hollywood Knights they drive me crazy Part II Review: Oh I almost forgot! My sister has asthma and to this day we still refer to her inhaler as her puffer! If you didn't understand this you need to see the movie first!
Rating: Summary: You want the Big One? I've got the Big One. Review: Like most guys, there are a few movies that I know all the lines to, and quote them a lot. This is one of them. I do understand why this movie would not appeal to everyone, but if you like the Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles-types of movies, then this is for you. The best characters are actually the two cops who can't do anything right. Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia......
Rating: Summary: Love This Movie Review: Well im glad they decided to release it on DVD.After reading one review saying some bad discs were turning up, I was a little worried about buying it.I can say that everythings ok as I own an Apex 600A...if the disc had any problems it would have shown up on my player for sure.I was disappointed about no "extras" to speak of.The so called Theatrical trailer(s) aren't even from the movie...but its a good to see the movie
Rating: Summary: THOSE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY! Review: If anyone knows what part of the movie my title is from then you to should be an honorary Hollywood Knight. I am glad that I am not alone in thanking the higher powers for releasing this classic movie. I can't tell you how many times we sat down as a family in my childhood and watched this movie! Yes, I did say my childhood. Hell your kids are going to learn about the raunchy but hilarious hijinks in this movie someday anyway. We too discovered it on HBO and Cinemax in the early 1980's. We made a VHS copy of it but someone actually stole it a the pizza shop my brother worked at! At Easter this year we got to talking about it and my brother told me that it was being released and I am now the proud owner of this movie on DVD. My Dad is coming over this weekend and I can't wait to watch it with him again. Since all of us kids have grown up and our family has gotten a lot bigger we now have more people to share it with. However, we ruin it for them because we recite the lines! To the viewer who said they mention Tony Danza's name you are wrong. They mention Tony Nancy who is a custom car builder. If you don't believe me check the credits and you will see that he stars in the movie as himself. I could write more but I think I am about to go past the 1,000 word limit! With a movie this good that is easy to do.
Rating: Summary: I hate to be a party pooper, but... Review: This movie isn't nearly as funny as I remember it being. I remember watching in on HBO when I was about 12 and thinking it was the best movie ever made, but now that I'm older and wiser, it just isn't that funny. The jokes are crude and they do have their moments, but overall it's pretty lame based on today's standards. I guess there was a reason the studio waited so long to release this movie. My advice, rent it before you buy it.
Rating: Summary: At long last! Review: I've waited years for this movie to be available on video and I'm glad it's now out on DVD too. Unless you've seen it on cable, then you really haven't seen this movie - the normal edits for broadcast TV butcher it in unexpected ways. The humor is sophomoric, the pranks are silly, and the sexual innuendos and nudity are gratuitous and liberally applied. In short if you liked Animal House, you'll like this too! An added bonus is getting to see Robert Wuhl (introduced in this movie), Stuart Pankin, Tony Danza, and Michelle Pfeiffer all in some early roles. Watch closely and you'll even hear someone say the name Tony Danza (when they're talking about the color of Jimmy Shine's car). This movie is a lot of fun and it won't make you think too hard - it goes great with good friends and a cold beer or two.
Rating: Summary: FINALLY! Review: I can't believe it took them THIS long to release this movie on video, considering all of the people in it. All this time I thought the masters were long gone and I would have to be relegated to seeing the edited version on TBS or USA. Not anymore. My cousin, who especially worships this movie, will be pleased as those who remember Robert Wuhl's fart-rock version of "Volare" while getting chased around the gymnasium like it was 1980 again. One of the finest cult classics since "Pandemonium" or "Midnight Madness". Thank you Paramount!
Rating: Summary: The Knights are Back! Review: My friends and I first saw this movie in the early 80's, our Junior year in High School. It instantly became our favorite. To this day, we recite lines from this classic. I never imagined this movie would be released on DVD. I was thrilled when I found out that it was being released the day before my 35th birthday! Unlike one of the other reviewers, my DVD has no flaws. Though the picture and sound aren't as awesome as new titles, it blows away the VHS tape that I recorded from HBO in the early 80s. This one is great to watch with "the guys", NOT with the kids.
Rating: Summary: FINALLY! I own a copy of the Knights! Review: I've waited 20 agonizing years for the Knights to be available for rent/purchase. From the first time I saw it, I've said, "I must have my own copy of this!" Truly a classic that will proudly join my DVD rack right next to Animal House and Caddy Shack!
Rating: Summary: No DVD problems here Review: Perhaps the chap, who wrote that the full-screen DVD version keeps breaking up and that the widescreen side can't be read, got a bad copy, and evidently some may have been produced, if Circuit City told him some discs are being returned. I had no problems of any sort with mine. Everything looked great. In fact, this is one of the few widescreen movies on DVD that actually looks as good, if not better, in full-screen. The director didn't make full use of the widescreen format, so very little is missed at full-screen. The director's comments are a big plus, since everybody who loves this film will want to know more about it. Oddly, he keeps calling Leigh French "Leigh Fisher".
