Summary: a hilarious comedy - finally on DVD!
Review: "BIG BUSINESS" is one of the greatest comedies ever made. Boasting full-tilt performances by comic geniuses Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler, it is a fantastic film.

The story concerns two sets of twins who were mixed up at birth; the city super-rich Sadie and Rose Shelton, and Jupiter Hollow country folk Sadie and Rose Ratliff. When the Shelton's company Moramax decides to stripmine Jupiter Hollow, the two Ratliff twins journey to New York in order to attend the annual stockholder's meeting and kick up a big fuss.

All the action takes place at the world-famous Plaza Hotel; the film is a delightful throwback to the screwball comedies of the 30's with the opening and shutting of doors, etc). The cast includes Edward Herrmann, Mary Gross and Fred Ward in fine supporting roles, though the spotlight is always on Lily (Rose Shelton and Rose Ratliff) and Bette (Sadie Shelton and Sadie Ratliff).

Two thumbs up!

The DVD includes a trailer for "Spy Hard". (Single-layer, single-sided disc).

Review: "I paid five dollars for this." This movie is so funny and terribly underrated. And now apparently not even available now. Well hopefully soon and maybe even a DVD. "Testing, testing".

Review: "That's what the french call a' beday". "Then the french must be taller than me". If you have no idea what in the hell that was all about then you must at least rent this somewhere until it is available again. Critics passed on this movie when it was released but now seem to have a better appreciation of it's extreme madcap style. Actually I would love to see another pairing of these two actresses.

Summary: You can't outsnake me (hiss hiss, rattle rattle)
Review: A great movie (almost as good as Maid to Order) Lily Tomlin should have won an Oscar for her dual roles, especially as country Rose when she makes her fingers in fangs and hisses while rattling her bracelets like a snake. She also talks to the fruit in her hotel room thinking it's bugged!) This movie is for anyone who has been given a half stick of gum by somebody and wondered what's the point of that?! 'What flowers do you want? Roses or Carnations?' 'Roses!' 'Hey! I'm Rose!' It's a great film! Fine cinema!

Summary: Loved It!
Review: Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin are great as two sets of twins Sadie and Rose Ratliffe and Sadie and Rose Moramax. Mary Gross is hilarious as the receptionist (she is best known today as Mrs Quick on TV's 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch') Edward Herrmann is great with his....erm....boyfriend,and the short appearance of Lois De Banzie as a waitress at The Plaza is very good. Lily Tomlin is perfect for the two Rose's,both very natural and un-urban. Bette Midler as the two Sadie's is fulling turning up her camp-mode.She explodes off the screen and her mimicking of Alexis Carrington when she is watching an episode of 'Dynasty' (which Rose says she has seen a million times) is hilarious (Give 'em hell,Alexis!Oh God,she is just running that entire company) A great Disney-manufactured comedy.

Summary: This Movie is hilarious
Review: Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin are great together. They are very funny in this movie and I would highly recamend this movie to all ages from kids to adults. It is about two set's of twins who get seperated at birth because the nurse mixes them up. I think that this movie is a movie that you can watch over and over again because it is so funny!

Summary: Mixmatched Twins!!
Review: Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin together; sure to be a funny movie. That is very true though onscreen it seems weird that these two would be related in anyway whether familial or friendship. Twins were mismatched at birth and then given to a poor, country couple and the other two to a rich family. Unbeknownst to many for forty years, Bette belonged to the rich family and Lily to the poor ones. As the movie goes on, the twins meet up with one another and that is where the suspense occurs. The supporting cast which includes many men who are the love interests of these women do a great job and Bette and Lily are very funny as Bette is her usual wild, redhaired, funny self and Lily is the foundation holding the movie together while Bette remains herself. Get this movie especially if you like Bette or Lily or even if you have, know or want twins. Great movie!!
