Summary: not what i had anticipated
Review: Romance, comedy, Sally Field- I thought great, how can I lose? In many ways, starting with awful co-stars. Her lead man is waaaay too old for her and that right there kills the chemistry/romance part that everyone looks forward to in a romantic comedy. The other lead man, her son's real father, may be closer to her age but isn't cute at all. Besides all that, I found this movie boring, and without a solid plot flow. Of course, Sally is always good, so if you're a fan, by all means.

Summary: Well written, well acted romantic comedy.
Review: This is a great little film! Fields and Garner are wonderful (as is the supporting cast), and the writing and acting lift this simple tale of relationsips into a movie you can watch over and over again. Some of Fields' takes are priceless (check the dance-hall scene), and Garner's explaination of the body-language of cowboy hats is a classic. I find myself quoting the script now and then ("It's a long way to drive with two babies...")! All this and a great love story too, plus beautiful scenery and great music by Carol King. An all-time favorite.

Summary: Murphys Romance
Review: This is a wonderful heartwarming movie. It always brings a smile to my face. One of my favorite feel good movies. Sally Field is a divorced woman trying to start over with her son, in a small town. The people in the town are imteresting, but the most interesting,(and sexy) one is Murphy the "town oddball" and pharmacist. Who when he gets pushed... pushes back. Emma (Sally Field) is trying to get a horse boarding facility off the ground and is helped by Murphy. Romance is in the air. Emma's ex-husband returns, and it is wonderful to watch Murphy cut him down to size. Murphy is wonderful. With the twinkle in his eye and wonderful smile, you can't help but like him....and this movie.

Review: This is a wonderful May-December romance movie. Sally Field and James Garner were wonderful. Makes you think that young isn't always better. Garner had charm and good looks in the 60's and he hasn't changed at all. Very easy to watch!!

Summary: Charming and relaxed
Review: This is one of my favorite movies. James Garner and Sally Field are just great, the writing is very good (Garner's lines are just great), the pacing is relaxed but not slow, and the theme music by Carole King is as good as you'd expect (see if you can spot King in a cameo). What makes it all work wonderfully, however, is the excellent supporting cast. Everyone is a fully realized individual, the town feels like a real community, and there's not a bad actor in the bunch. If you want a love story that's about love and not hormones, buy this DVD. You'll be glad you did.

Review: This video is in my top ten picks of all time best movies. I like Sally's Field's character, Emma, for her spunkiness and strength. Yet, she proves she's only human, wanting what we all want, love.
James Garner portrays a man with a no-nonsense, straight from the hip, view on life. Being a single gal, I've been on the hunt for a man who is this way in the "real world". I found him funny, witty, set in his ways, but willing to make some changes and handsome.
I give "Murphy's Romance" a two thumbs up rating.
