Summary: FUNNY AND UNIQUE
Review: BETTE MIDLER IS A FUNNY LADY SHE MAKES ME LAUGH AND SHE MAKES ME FEEL GOOD ALL OVER I RECOMENDED THIS COMEDY TO EVERYONE

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Just lots of fun!
Review: I never read the book, but my husband did, and he said the women in the movie were kinder than they were in the book... which I find hard to believe!

These 3 women find themselves middle aged and in the middle of huge life changes, all brought about by the desertions and betrayals of the men they'd devoted their younger years to.

They all sort of fall apart, but pull themselves together through friendship - and a new-found purpose. Their new purpose in life? To destroy the men who betrayed them.

It's a very funny movie, not surprising, considering the all-star cast.

They do an admirable job, not only of exacting revenge, but of rediscovering their friendships, and discovering exactly how strong they really are.

I really enjoyed this movie, and so did my husband.

Summary: You can't beat this combination...
Review: Three of the funniest ladies who've ever made movies, all in one movie, what more could anyone ask for? Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn, and Bette Midler are three middle-aged wives who have been dumped by their husbands and set out to get revenge after a fourth friend commits suicide for the same reason. Their ingenious plan succeeds beyond their wildest dreams as wayward husband after wayward husband falls victim to his own folly, unaware that events are being carefully orchestrated by the wives they are cold-heartedly trying to leave behind. Along the way, the three friends learn just how strong and valuable they really are as people, whether or not they have a man by their side.

Side-splittingly funny, this film at the same time captures the real anguish of marriages gone awry. Without getting maudlin, it also promotes the idea that some marriages are worth fighting for, a refreshing notion in our divorce-happy culture.

Summary: I am 100% WOMAN and I am in love with ME!
Review: This movie is a movie for women of all ages. It helps women know that there is life after 40, and it is okay to be alone; and be happy at the same time. Women must remember to put themselves first, and never let men be your reason for living. Identity, independences, and an "I love me attitude" is the key. This is what this movie displays; and it is about time they make more movies that empower women.

Summary: Rip Roaring Funny -- Laughs AND Touching Moments
Review: Cynthia, Elise, Annie and Brenda are all college best friends. When Cynthia commits suicide, the others are reunited at the funeral and rekindle their friendship. This time, however, it's for revenge!! For anyone who has married, was ever married -- or even just dated!! -- will find this to be funny, charming and warm.

While I probably can't say anything that hasn't already been said before, I do think that if you have not already seen this film, you will find yourself, to some degree, identifying with parts of it and laughing along with it!! This movie is totally filled with a lot of very delightful laughs.

Summary: To those who have just read and loved the book...beware
Review: Aside from the characters having the same first names, and the title, the movie has basically nothing in common with the book. However, it is an excellent and hysterical movie. I also loved the book, as little similaities as there are. Anyway, Brenda, Annie, and Elise are old college friends that reunite after a number of years at the funeral of the fourth member of their old college group, Cynthia. She, in a bout of depression and alchoholism over her recent divorce from a media tycoon has jumped off the roof of her penthouse and killed heself. After the funeral, the old friends meet for lunch and discover that each has been turned in by her respective husband for a "newer model." They decide to get revenge, and thus the First Wives Club is formed. I won't give away more of the plot, but this is truly a comedic masterpiece. There is no funnier trio than Bette, Diane, and Goldie. Not even the Three Stooges!

Summary: THESE GIRLS ARE AMAZING
Review: I love this movie. It is the best movie I've ever seen in my life. I think it is very inspirational for all women and not only is it a good way for women to learn that they are more than just the backbone of men but it is also a very funny a great movie. I love the way that the stars work together and I love everything that this movie has to offer. This is seriously the best movie. It is personally my favorite!!

Summary: Revenge Can Be Sweet!
Review: The main reason I watched this movie was because Diane Keaton was in it. She did not let me down at all in this movie! Her performance was excellent, as was Goldie Hawn's and Bette Midler's. The casting for the supporting roles of the movie was great. I never thought I'd see such a selfish Stephen Collins, but he was great in this.

The story was great as well. When one of the four friends dies, it reunites these college friends. They all reveal to one another that their husbands have left them for younger women. So what do they do? Revenge, of course! I thought the middle of the movie was very good. There was definitely a climax and it was resolved very well. Another thing I loved was the song that was played while Annie (Keaton), Brenda (Bette), and Elise (Hawn) were giving their husbands what they deserved. Now if only I could remember the name of the song! But what it did was it showed that women are just as strong as men, sometimes stronger. I think that is one of the messages that the movie tries to convey to us.

I don't know if this is a 'chick flick' or not, but it is leaning in that direction. It's just a great movie overall, in my opinion. Rent it and see for yourself!!

Summary: Very funny in spots but starts to sink near the end
Review: Fine comic performances particularly by Dianne keaton, although Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn are also quite good in this. The concept of three middle-aged wives all abandoned by their husbands for younger women sets the stage for a potentially great revenge comedy. One of the best scenes has Midler's husband being distracted by an interior decorator while the trio tries to find evidence of illegal business practices in his upstairs office. The only way out is by using a window washers scaffold. Dianne Keaton is hysterically funny as they descend. Unfortunately the movie also descends from that point on and turns into a cliched nine -to- five wanna be.
