Summary: A Really Good Guy Movie
Review: Tom Cruise really broke out in this film. It is really un-brat pack which was good. Teen movies needed to look outside the box after the numerous Brat Pack Movies. In this Tom Cruise plays a good bad boy who sneeks behind his parents while they are away. The movie is very unrealistic, but it really plays out every man's fantasy. The acting is honest. The plot is good. The soundtrack is great, and it all combines to make a classic teen movie. One of the best. I reccomend it.

Summary: Risky Business
Review: Tom Crusie became a star when he danced in his underwear much in the same way Julia Roberts hit the big time when she sang Prince in the bathtub ayring Pretty Woman.

This will remain a cult classic, although had it not been for Tom Cruise's appeal to youg girls and women alike, I don't really know whether the film would have drawn much attention. But, perhaps I am biased, as I've always thought Tom was a bit thick in the waist/butt area to be a serious heart throb, but, hey, that's me... The premise is pretty outlandish and the entire plot is WILL JOEL GET IN TROUBLE WITH HIS PARENTS?

There are some other themes going on here--pressure to succeed, etc. but they are somewhat underplayed.

Joe Pantalino is as solid as ever here, but Tom's acting is somewhat weak. I've never been a fan of Rebecca DeMornay period--I'm sorry, I don't find her talented, but I suspect her sex appeal helped this movie along as well. If you miss this one, you'll survive it.

Summary: A couple of boys in Daddy's car
Review: Well acted and directed. Intelligent, funny and erotic without being graphic. There are a few extras with the DVD version, trailers and the making of the famous "put my father's car in Lake Michigan" scene. If they made a sequel, I wonder what Joel would be doing today?

Summary: great film, fair presentation
Review: What a wonderful movie, and a real treat to see it in letterbox. I just wish they had done a better job on the transfer. I have a real big tv and I'm pretty picky, so factor that into my review. But there were some noticable artifacts in the picture. A shame. But still worth every penny and a world better than a pan-and-scan VHS tape...
