Review: I have never seen a comedy suspense before or again but this movie is great, complete with the surprise ending. my favorite quote from the movie "I've never seen that before, I've never seen anyone drive there garabage to the end of the street then bang the hell out of with a stick, I've never seen that"-hanks This is my favorite hanks movie I love Rick Ducommun, Bruce Dern, Corey Feldman Great movie, I noticed something I have never seen before about 2 months ago when Walter was eating all there food he eat some dog food I loved it, I love this movie, my 3rd favorite movie

Summary: Best Movie I've Seen!
Review: This movie had great acting. All the actors(Hanks, Dern, Fisher, ect.) had perfect roles. I especialy like the roles of the Klopeks. Uncle Ruben(Brother Theodore) did an extra good job for his part. The plot was exelent! It makes you think through the whole movie. The ending couldn't have been better. The whole film was non-stopped comedy and suspence. I recomend anybody and every body to see this. It deserves more than 5 stars. This is a must see.

Review: I watched this movie at midnight, but I wasn't asleep because it is funny--especially "nightmare in the 'Burbs" scene. If you like Jerry Goldsmith, please watch this music!! The score of "The 'Burbs" is classic comedy one which is hard to get it.... I recommend you!(don't forget enjoyong "end title")

Review: This movie is one of my favorites, it captures Tom Hanks' ability to joke and his supporting cast is hilarious. Overall I would recomend this movie to anyone who wants a good laugh time and time again.

Summary: Splendid Comedy
Review: This innanely funny commedy leaves veiwers with a sense of the "what if." This movie takes place in an everyday setting with normal people in a typical neighborhood. People that come home from work every day, have supper, and put up with the potsmoking neighborhood kids. This movie exhonorates the fact that people are sick of performing these mundane tasks and they simply want some entertainment-something out of the norm, something un-burb like. We all are, in fact, like those potsmoking neighbor kids in this flick who just want to be entertained! And, by God, those kids get entertained. The movie isn't one of these modern blockbusters that take millions upon millions of dollars to produce. It's a movie with a simple but humorous and intriguing script that takes a poke at everyday life and at those who take themselves too seriously. It is, in essence, a comic of the American Dream. Anyone who enjoys subtle humor and can laugh at themselves will love this movie. Hey, maybe this could happen in YOUR neighborhood.

Review: This is a wonderful satire of life in suburban america. I agree that you must watch it several times to catch some of the more subtle humor. The 'Burbs is a great one to own.

Review: wonderfully funny with a touch of reality which adds to the humor. my family has watched the burbs at least 100 times and can say all the movie lines while viewing. 5 stars for sure!

Review: I own The 'Burbs and must say that I have almost every line memorized! It is a very fun movie and I highly recommend it. Bruce Dern is fantastic in it. Don't expect an oscar winning movie but just watch it and have fun!

Review: Maybe i am wrong but i feel this movie never got the recognition it deserved, you have to watch this movie a couple of times to catch all the sutlties of the movie. The acting is a little over the top, but it fits with the tone of the movie, i have seen this movie 8 times and it never stops making me laugh.

Summary: Watch Out In Your Neighborhood For The Reclusive Families!
Review: As Art Weingartner says "I'm telling you these people are Satanists. As I sit here, they are Satanists. Look... look, the world is full of these kind of things; black masses, mutilations. Mutilations! The incubus, the succubus - I'm tellin' you, Walter was a human sacrifice."Such is the hysterical dialog between Art (Rick Ducommun) and Ray Peterson (Tom Hanks) when they discover, along with some other people in their suburban subdivision, their elderly neighbor, Walter Seznick (Gale Gordon) is missing in action. Other neighbor buddy, Vietnam Vet, Mark Rumsfeld (Bruce Dern) decides to help Ray and Art to find out what happened to Walter. They all three are SURE that the weirdo reclusive new neighbors, The Klopek family, comprised of Dr. Werner Klopek (Henry Gibson), Uncle Reuben Klopek (Brother Theodore) and shy Hans Klopek (Courtney Gains)have something to do with the old man's disappearance. So...complete with night vision goggles, credit cards to slide in the Klopek's doorlocks to break in and various other spy equipment furnished by Mr. Rumsfeld, they start their little spying games. Men and their wives even plan a little friendly "welcome wagon" visit to the Klopeks (one of the funniest scenes in the movie!) Corey Feldman as young neighbor teen Ricky Butler, Carrie Fisher as Carol Peterson, & Wendy Schaal as Bonnie Rumsfeld ALL turn in great performances. Even Nicky Katt from Boston Public plays Ricky's young friend Steve Kuntz! What happened to Walter? Did the Klopek's have anything to do with the disappearance? WATCH THIS VERY ENTERTAINING MOVIE and find out for yourself! Happy Watching!
