Review: Tim Burton definately captured Paul Reubens' whole Pee-Wee thingy with this movie. My four year old girl is ga-ga over Pee Wee, playhouse and all, great!, but sometimes "The Edge" irks and challenges my parental guidence skills. What the Hey! Fake poo poo's = fun Fun FUN!!!

Review: A great movie. Tim Burton, fresh off the disney lot hooks well into this movie, getting the chance to do multiple Genre's in one film. A great piece of limited budget and special effect, proving a good script and good actors can save you ever time. The DVD is fair, with some specials on it and extra footage. The commentary by Burton and Ruebins is alright, although they sit and laugh a bit too much. Still, interesting insight into some of the little things in the movie. I Would recommend this movie to anyone interested in film, or comedy!

Summary: An 80's Comedy Classic!
Review: When I first saw this movie when I was a teenager I didn't really like it, thought it was kind of corny but after watching it numerous times with my nephews I realized just how funny it is, there are many funny moments in this movie including Large Marge and the Alamo scenes with Jan Hooks, (Saturday Night Live) plus many other funny moments. If you love comedy movies especially ones that are really silly then I highly recommend this! I taped this a few years ago when It was on Cable and I when I eventually get a DVD player I hope to buy Pee Wee's Big Adventure on DVD.

Summary: Overgrown Laughs from the Overgrown Boy
Review: I found this film to be outrageously funny. Now, granted, I had enjoyed Peewee's antics as a child, both his television show, and this feature, so perhaps I am biased. However, when I watched it again recently, I found that I enjoyed it, if anything, even more. Not only was I able to be nostalgic and reminiscent about how much some scenes used to frighten me, but I actually caught a lot more of the humour. There are strange characters, none topping Peewee Herman himself, and an equally strange plot. In the hands of a different director, this film could have become an asinine mess, but fortunately for all involved, helming this project was the inimitable Tim Burton himself, whose slightly twisted way of portraying reality fits perfectly into the slightly twisted world of Peewee Herman. This is definitely worth a look. The special features are interesting, particularly the commentary from Burton and Reubens, and while the deleted scenes aren't the greatest, at least they're there. As movies go, its great. As DVDs go, you couldn't ask for much more. Highly recommended for those with warped or bent senses of humour. For those who don't have a warped and bent sense of humour, I have some land to sell you. Its in the basement of the Alamo.

Review: I still laugh just thinking about this movie. Where else can you see a chase through the Warner Bros. movie lot with Santa, Godzilla, & Twisted Sister!?!?!?!? A great movie when you need a touch of Sillyness and Goof-ball'ism in your life.

Summary: Happy Birthday Paul Reubens!
Review: I can't get why Pee-wee Hurman got the credited in the credits as himself when its really Paul Reubens playing him. As the movie opens, Pee-wee (Paul Reubens) is in the tour de France and Pee-wee wins the race. It's a dream I guess. He gets up and his fortune says him Don't leave the house today. He has pancakes, bacon and toast for breakfeast and pours some cereal over his pancakes with bacon has a mouth. Now remember this is a comedy. After a few bits, Pee-wee goes outside and gets a offer from his bike by a rich man's son (Mark Holton). It's his birthday and he wants Pee-wee's bike. Pee-wee turns down the offer. He goes to two diffrent stores. He goers to Mario's magic shop where the owner tells Pee-wee he has some new stuff that Pee-wee might be like. He disappears in a puff of smoke and comes back. After that he goes to Chuck's o-rama to pick up his horn. And tells dottie who works there "I'm a loner... a rebel."

Summary: A Classic Comedy Gem!
Review: This is truly one of the funniest movies I have ever seen! The cast has a great sense of humor, and the film never takes itself to seriously, staying lighthearted and amusing throughout. Tim Burton is a masterful director, even on this film, which was his first feature-length production. (You may recall that he had previously made the featureette Frankenweenie and a short-animated film called Vincent.) Paul Reubens did a terrific job playing Pee-Wee; I don't think there is any other actor that could play Pee-Wee the way that Paul Reubens did. The score is first-rate. It is composed by Danny Elfman, the frontman from the 80's rock outfit Oingo Boingo. The score is quirky and fun, and it gives the film a unique identity that I have not seen anywhere else. Elfman has since gone on to compose the scores for almost every, if not every, Tim Burton film to date. The DVD has also been put together very nicely. It has two commentaries; the first commentary, with both Reubens and Burton, is good, but it is nothing great. I would have liked if they had said a little bit more. The second commentary, which is a music-only track with commentary by Elfman, more than makes up for the first commentary. He sheds light onto the creative process that goes into making a film score. It is really interesting and taught me a few things at the same time. The storyboards and sketches are nice, but it isn't anything that will knock your socks off. What really tops this DVD off are the deleted scenes. I had long desired to see deleted scenes from the movie, and my prayers were finally answered. It is understandable why the scenes were deleted, but they are still great fun to watch. There is occasionally (and I mean extremely occasionally!) minor artifacting in the picture, but it is never serious or distracting. The new Dolby Digital 5.1 mix brings the film to life and makes you feel a part of it. I first saw this film when I was three or four years old, and I can say from experience that it holds up under repeated viewings. I'm now seventeen, and I can sit down and watch this movie anytime and still enjoy it. Do yourself a favor and go out and pick up a copy of this DVD. You absolutely won't be disappointed.

Review: Pee Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) is one of those incredibly unique originals who has developed a cult following. The special thing about Pee Wee is that his fans include 70-year old southern blue-collar guys as well as college hipsters and young tots. He is able to sustain a movie over a long time because of this. This movie is also ideal for the DVD transfer. Anyone familiar with Pee Wee's Playhouse on saturday mornings remembers the vivid colorful surreal sets. This movie will test your color to the max. Outrageous characters and story line. One you'll watch again and again. Just don't expect Lawrence of Arabia and you'll be swept away with Pee Wee's charm. Quite simply, Pee Wee makes me laugh...laugh a lot. We need more movies like this. Favorite scene: At The Biker Bar. A classic comedy! Genius at work!

Summary: The funniest movie...
Review: Pee Wee loves his bicycle, like it's his own child. Francis, loves it too, and will do anything to get it. He gets his way, and as a result Pee Wee begins a frantic search for his precious bike. His agony over the loss leads him to a fortune-teller named Madame Ruby, who tells him (by way of store signs) that his bicycle can be found at the Alamo, "in the basement." He believes it and hitches rides with an escaped convict named Mickey, a ghost truck driver who goes by the name Large Marge (her scene is hilarious) and a sardine-eating hobo in a train car. He gets so annoyed by the hobo's off-key rendition of "Jimmy Crack Corn", that he jumps off the train, and lands in San Antonio. The adventure continues from there, with lots of funny characters and memorable moments.
