Summary: The Film That Launched Tim Burton's Career Into Stardom
Review: All jokes about Paul Reubens personal life aside, this movie is so original and so twisted and so funny, you just knew that Tim Burton would become a big star. I mean without this movie being the success it was, Tim Burton probably wouldn't have made it big and we wouldn't have seen his incredibly unique and entertaining films. We have Paul Reubens to thank for Tim Burton, because he saw his low-budget films and specifically chose him to direct Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. What a choice it was too, this movie is like nothing you've ever seen before. The DVD features very vivid colors and a real clean picture. The sound is pretty decent considering the age of the film, and it comes to life when it needs to. The extras are interesting, I never had seen those deleted scenes before, and the commentary is a great addition. The sequel to this movie bombed big time, but nothing could have outdone the original. Very entertaining.

Review: I think that this movie is something that everybody should have in thier house or with them !!!!! Mostly because it is hallarious and the bounus features include deleated scenes , music&audio commentery by director TIM BURTON (his directorial debut). Plus, Danny Elfman (who did the music for SPIDER-MAN) does the music for PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE!!!!!!! Anyway, buy this before you regret it & your life isn't complete without it.

Review: To the people who no NOTHING about this movie: You obviously didn't know that this was Burton's FIRST film-give him a LITTLE credit, will you?
And also Danny Elfman's first theatrical score ( not including the Forbidden Zone theme ). The breakfast machine is awesome. The movie was well done, especially the heard task of a much down-graded character like Pee-Wee Herman. Paul ( Reubens ), you did an EXCELLENT job!!! The plot is meant to be funny, and the film meant to be enjoyed by all. What did you expect out of this film?? Well, it met MY expectations. The DVD is awesome. Special Features include:

Summary: Dumbest Movie Ever!
Review: Pee-Wee Herman is the biggest scumbag to ever hit the big screen. Tedious work made by Tim Burton, the same guy who made "Batman" and "Edward Scissorhands". I was disappointed to find out that he had made such a stupid movie. Who in the world would go search for a horrible-looking bike like that? Awful.

Summary: "Nobody hipped me to that, dude."
Review: I saw this movie at the theater with my boyfriend. He thought it was stupid...I laughed out loud. (Soon he was no longer my boyfriend.) I didn't know who Tim Burton was then, but I do now. I like the combination of Burton and Elfman, and when one is missing, the movie isn't quite the same. The DVD is great...I love the commentary by Reubens, Burton and Elfman. The edited scenes are good too. Truly a classic...my three year olds watch it over and over, (thank god for DVDs...I don't have to rewind anymore) Only one problem, I don't have a widescreen television and the picture appears sort of stretched to fit. Can't I just have letterbox? Maybe I need to fool around with my machine more. Did anyone else experience this? Still, the movie is so great that I still rated it 5 stars...I would have given it more if I could. Also check out Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. (and Frankenweenie if you can...check PBS listings...THIS should have been included on the DVD since it was really deciding element that made Reubens choose Burton to direct Pee Wee.)

Summary: Everybody I know has a big "but"
Review: It could have been just another goofball comedy with a comic neo-star trying his best to mug for the camera and keep audiences hitched to his ride for at least 80 minutes, but thanks to a whacked out script, inventive direction, and one of the most original scores to ever be produced, this film will go down in the books, even if they are just cult books. SNL alum Phil Hartman, who also worked with Reubens on his stage show as Capt. Carl, co-wrote what seems to be an almost stream-of-conscience story involving Pee Wee going on a road trip to find his beloved stolen bicycle. Along the way, he meets, in no paticular order, an escaped con, a fortune teller, a truck driving ghost, a biker gang, a rodeo circus, a Hollywood producer, a hobo, and a down and out waitress with dreams of better things. The first full length live action film for director Burton gives him plenty to work with, and he does so without any of the overtly flashy imagery that has become the mainstay of so many current Hollywood releases, and simply takes great joy in exploring the possibilities of art direction. Added to all of it is Danny Elfman's first film score, which hops along so well with all the visuals, encorporating so many different styles of thematic scores, and still managing to have a life all its own. The final film is something that can be enjoyed by anyone at anytime, and at any age: a truly fun and entertaining fairy tale, so rare to discover these days. DVD NOTES: The disk has some cut scenes that tie up a few loose ends that viewers may have been thinking about, and a nicely detailed set of production notes, but the real gem is the commentary by Burton and Reubens. Insightful, funny, revealing, and continually moving along at a steady pace with the film. Add to that, an isolated score track with intermittent comments by Elfman that's just as fun, and you've got a very nice package for fans and new comers alike.

Summary: An American Classic
Review: This is the funniest movie I have ever seen, and now that it's available on DVD makes owning it even better. It's great to be able to jump instantly to your favorite scene, and the narration with Paul Reubens and Tim Burton is a really nice extra. Paul (aka Pee-Wee Herman} can make me laugh harder doing something as simple as brushing his teeth with a giant toothbrush than all of today's comedians and their crude language put together. The man has so much talent, it's a shame he was exiled from tv for something so harmless. I hope he brings Pee-Wee back to television or the movies soon. Now if MGM/United Artists will just bring the Playhouse episodes out on DVD, Happy will be my Secret Word.

Summary: Its so stupit its funny
Review: Of course any normal person can pick up what kind of oddball Peewee Herman is but then you have the movie about a bicycle being stolen from him and Peewee Herman going on an American adventure for it its a very entertaining movie never a dull moment through the whole film.
