Summary: Pesci is at his best!
Review: Two young men are out on a summer cruise in their open top car.When they decide to visit a remote Gas/station and buy groceries,one of them accidently leaves without paying for a can of tuna.Later they are pulled up by police,only to find that they are being charged for murder!not Theft! The movies pace is perfect,because the humour element is set near the begining,when the guys are confused about their arrest,and it continues to grow when they find that they can't afford a good lawyer,and one of them has to ask his cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci) to act on their behalf.Although very soon they establish that Vinny's experience as a law student,leaves a lot to be desired. What i liked about this movie was the interesting blend in Pesci's role.Despite being comical (like in the Lethal Weapon movies),he also borrowed some of the hard case attitude he displays in his various Martin Scorsese movies.Even if courtroom drama is not your cup of tea,this movie gives a very endearing look at what a lawyer should, and shouldn't do in a courtroom!

Summary: A great comedy, a great DVD, and a great commentary.
Review: I won't repeat the storyline. You probably know it by now. Just suffice it to say that this a great comedy. What I especially liked about the DVD other than its excellent transfer is the full-length director's commentary. It's one of the best commentaries I've heard on DVD.

Summary: Funny movie with top-notch performances
Review: "My Cousin Vinny" does for the clash between Northern and Southern U.S. cultures and personalities, what "A Fish Called Wanda" did for British vs. American - and like that film, does it without reducing either side to tired stereotypes, thanks mostly to winning performances by Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Fred Gwynne and Lane Smith. The only real downside: because "Vinny" is truly a character-driven comedy, the main story about the boys ("yutes?") being wrongfully accused of murder often lacks the weight it deserves in the film, and those two characters are less memorable as a result.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This movie is funny from the first lines spoken to the last. The plot is thin (you can figure how it will end after Joe Pesci enters the scene), but the laughs keep coming all the way through. Pesci and Tomei are great, but the highlight of the trial is the public defender. He is absolutely hilarious. The bantor between the southern folk and the northern folk keeps the movie flowing without being mean or degrading to either. This is honestly a fun movie that does not disappoint.

Summary: Loaded With Laughs
Review: This is one excellent light hearted comedy. Although the storyline gets a little bit far fetched, who really notices with all the funny lines and sight gags. Fred Gwynne is so cool as the hometown judge. Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei add spunk and spice to the sleepy muddy town of Alabama where the trial is set. The conflict between the Old South and Italian Brooklyn comes to a funny peak when Pesci refers to the boys on trial as the two Yutes! Gwynne's reaction is just priceless. Anyway, for a barrell of laughts, go rent this one today!

Summary: This Is The Most Realistic Courtroom Movie Ever Made
Review: As a trial attorney, I usually detest courtroom dramas and comedies, as they are invariably too unrealistic. This movie, despite its goofball premise, captures the dynamics of the courtroom so accurately that it is often shown in continuing legal education seminars (I am not kidding). The courtroom sequences are so on target that they are frighteningly real and hold up well on repeated viewings. A fine, funny movie.

Summary: One of the Funniest Movies Ever! DVD is Terrific!
Review: This movie belongs to that very special category of comedies that gains cult status almost instantly. It is absolutely halarious and gets funnier every time you watch it. It includes one of Pesci's best roles--and certainly his best comedy--also oscar winning work by Marisa Tomei and career topping performances by late character actors Fred Gwynne and Lane Smith. It's a near perfect script with seamless flow from one classic comedy set piece to another: I wouldn't cut out any scene or a single line of dialogue--it's all wonderfully done. The DVD release is terrific too, with excellent image transfer, good sound mixing and director's comments.

Review: This has to be the most over looked comedy of all time. I couldn't hardly wait for the DVD version to come out and now, it's finally here. If you want to see a good comedy, get this movie. The only thing that probably held this one back is the harsh language. That being said... This movie is a classic.

Review: Sorry, I never saw this film in which Joe Pesci has the lead role. I'm referring to Marisa Tomei, who won the 1992 Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this. I saw her in another movie ("Only You") which I thought wasn't THAT bad. But why hasn't she done anything new in these past couple of years? Her most recent film was "Slums of Beverly Hills." You'll never believe this, but I can imagine Marisa and Andrea Bocelli in a film, peaceful in silence, quarreling in public. Joe and Andrea would be great for a mentally-sick Italian brother duo traveling to Mexico or perhaps Puerto Rico and singing in a music school! But Bocelli is blind, and it seems he ain't fit for Hollywood. Disappointing, huh? It's time to say goodbye for today.

Summary: Theaters, Video, Televison...It never get's old
Review: What can anyone say about "My Cousin Vinny" that hasn't already been said? Since this movie first appeared in theaters it became an instant comedy classic. I would wager a guess that nearly everyone between the ages of 12 and 80 has seen this film in some form or another, whether it be in the theatre, on video or one of the many edited for television versions. But no matter how many times you see it, you never tire of watching. You love to watch those classic scenes over and over again, and it seems like they are always funny. I won't waste time laying out the plot of the film, because chances are you've already seen it, and if you haven't, may I ask what in the world you are waiting for? For those of you that have seen it, how many times have you been channel surfing, run across it and thought "Alright 'My Cousin Vinny' is on!" Yeah it's great to see it on TV, but nothing beats the unedited version for a great laugh. Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei (Who won an academy award for Best Supporting Actress in this film) are outstanding, and who could forget the late Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster) as the surly Judge Chamberlain Haller? If you don't own it, pick up a copy and put in your video or DVD collection for those days when you can't find anything good on TV. If you haven't seen it yet, then drag yourself out of the dark ages and see one of the funniest movies you will ever watch.
