Summary: Dont Get Much Better Then This
Review: As many times I have seen this movie I still crack up. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Joe Pesci does a great job in this. It has lead me to watch his other movies like the Lethal Weapons 2-4 and Home Alones 1-2. He is one of the greatest actors that make me laugh all the time. I recommend buying this particularly for someone with a good sense of humor. My favorite scene is when Pesci is trying to get some sleep but the owl is outside making noise and he goes out with the gun and fires a few shots to scare it. BUY IT AND CRACK UP LIKE NO OTHER!

Summary: Pure Fun
Review: It has been 10 years since this film debuted and much has happened to the careers of the two principles in the movie. In addition to Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei, a great performance was placed on screen by Fred Gwynne, known by many for one of the quirkier characters to ever appear on television, Fred Munster. Mr. Gwynne died in July of 1993, and a memorable actor was lost. Marisa Tomei was the big winner in this outing as her performance earned her an Academy Award for her performance as, "Mona Lisa Lise Vito". Add to that name the most intense Brooklyn accent ever placed on screen, and if your curiosity is piqued, this film is for you.

The story is one you have seen at least a dozen times, but the performances, both individually and as a cast, make this familiar theme very entertaining and funny. Joe Pesci is the cousin in the film that is dispatched to Alabama fresh from his successful 6th attempt at passing the bar to try his first case, and a double murder case no less. His character, and yes all of them are used, include Vincent La Guardia Gambini (a.k.a Jerry Gallo/Jerry Callo/Vinny 'Bag of Doughnuts') are worth listing, as again, it gives you a taste of what the film has on offer. The closest he can come to the word youths is utes, and when placed in front of a hanging judge......well you get the idea.

There are no surprises in the film, with the possible exception that the stereotypes of North and South are fairly evenly distributed. The closing soundtrack is also a gem. So if you are looking for a bit of humor that will ask nothing of you, except that you sit, watch and laugh, this is an easy way to pass 120 minutes.

Summary: 5 Stars for the movie, 3 stars on the DVD transfer
Review: This movie rocks, but my rating is for the terrible quality of the DVD transfer. First off, there is no Dolby Digital 5.1, only Dolby Stereo 2.0, is this acceptable? Secondly, the movie is rather dark is some scenes and in a couple of scenes you can actually see the brightess levels shift before your eyes. These nuances are ignorable as my expectations are different for comedies than they are for other genres.

Summary: Hilarious. Period.
Review: This movie is the definition of funny. I have watched it atleast a dozen times ... and rented the movie atleast 5 times. Had I bought the video, I would have saved a lot of money. The plot, the judge, the amateur lawyer (Joe Pesci), the "yewts", the cook who makes the grits, the oinking pigs, the hooting owl, the "stiff"ing thug ... they all come together in hilarious
clarity.

The DVD comes with the director's commentary that can be optionally turned on before the movie's played - very informative.

You won't have a single dull moment. This is a keeper!

Summary: Great movie
Review: Just a great, hilarious movie! Joe Pesci and all of the actors to a wonderful job.

Summary: The best courtroom comedy ever... by far!
Review: Well, if anyone didn't see this movie yet... Don't waste your time! Go see it! Rent it! Buy it! Do whatever you have to do to see My Cousin Vinny! Honestly, this should've swept the Oscars all around!

Plot in a sentence or two: two boys get mistaken for murderers of a store clerk in Alabama. They face trial for their life as Vinny comes to the rescue (along with his fiancee Lisa)...

Best bit: dialogue at the wood cabin and the next five minutes of filmed material is one of the best in movie history... not exaggerated.

Favourite line: "You was serious about that?"

Summary: Modern Day Classic
Review: This is one of those movies that can be watched over and over and over again. My VHS copy of this one has been watched so many times the sound track and colors are getting distorted.
This is a great story about 2 kids in trouble with the law, a strict judge, a no experience lawyer, and a woman and her biological clock.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great movie to own
Review: This comedy is an excellent addition to anyone's DVD collection. Although there aren't too many extras on the DVD, the picture and sound quality are excellent.
