Summary: Most Memorable and funny movie I've ever seen
Review: Loved this movie from start to finish. I am not one who likes to see movies over and over, but I have never grown tired of seeing this again and again. Joe Pesci is classic and Marissa Tomei does an excellent job of portraying her cahracter.

Summary: MY COUSIN VINNY
Review: All I can say is funny, funny, fuuny, you will watch it over and over. One of my favorites, I'd never part with this movie. Pesci and the entire cast are just excellent, you'll laugh till you cry. Of course I love Joe Pesci, and have a lot of his movies, but this is one of my favorites. I love comedies, and this one surely is a great one.

Summary: Greatest Film Ever
Review: Citizen Kane ... On the Waterfront .... The Godfather .... Casablanca ...
Sorry, MY COUSIN VINNY is the greatest film of all time. I can't think of another movie I've enjoyed as much and as often. Laughs from start to finish. The initial jail dialogue between Vinny and Stan is loaded with the funniest double entendres you will ever hear. Enough said.

Summary: My Cousin Vinny's Girlfriend Saves the Day!
Review: The first ninety percent of MY COUSIN VINNY could have lost the audience because of a conventional plot line of a murder & courtroom case. However, it is saved by great casting and a great ending. The film is light on the stereotyping (south vs. Bronx Italian) yet rich in characterization. Two out-of-state college students Bill & Stan (Ralph Macchio, Mitchell Whitfield) end up in a hick southern town and are somehow accused of killing the proprietor of a convenience store. The only person that could help them is Bill's cousin, Vinny (Joe Pesci) who happens to be a lawyer (or is he?). Vinny comes to their aid accompanied by his girlfriend Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei). The movie is part courtroom comedy and part character fish-out-of water. The audience knows that the two accused are innocent but with all the mounting (circumstantial?) evidence against them, and the inexperience and limited ability of Vinny, how are they going to be proved innocent? The last 10 percent of the movie is the big payoff and is what makes this movie enjoyable. Movies that come to mind that had similar type conclusions is STALAG 17, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, and TWELVE ANGRY MEN. Marisa Tomei's character Mona Lisa plays a big part in the ending of vindication and her performance earned her a best-supporting actor nod. Overall, what could have been a simple movie is helped by a great supporting cast of veteran character actors (i.e. Fred Gwynn, Lane Smith, Bruce McGill, Maury Chaykin, and Austin Pendleton) and a great courtroom revelation.

Summary: Rip-Roaring!!!
Review: Here's the story. Two kids get arrested for a murder they did'nt commit and end up in jail. Their only hope is to recruit their 'cousin Vinny' who is a lawyer and ask him to come over and bail them out. Simple? Right? Except that it's not that simple.
With a story-line this flimsy the director sets out to build a cast of characters and environment so funny that you keep chuckling long after you had seen the movie! If Marisa Tomei, who acts as the fiance of Joe Pesci (Vinny), could bag an oscar for best supporting actress I believe the Judge (Fred something) should have got the best supporting actor for his potrayal as the stern judge.
The tongue-in-cheek dialogue in the jail when Vinny meets the accused for the first time had me in splits!! Pesci is funny and boy can he deliver a punch-line! However his hair-do leaves much to be desired. Casting is right on the money. This DVD is worth every cent. Buy it and put it up there among your comedy classics. You won't regret it.

Summary: Herman Munster Meets Leo Getz..for Nonstop Fun!
Review: This review refers to the 20th cent Fox Video Premiere Series VHS edition of "My Cousin Vinny"...

Okay, Okay..so they're different roles then Munster and Getz, but just as funny as ever! Joe Pesci and Fred Gwynne go toe to toe in this uproarious courtroom comedy, where the East(Brooklyn, NY that is) meets the South.

While headed for L.A., without a care in the world, two pals(Raplph Macchio/Mitchell Whitfield)get pulled over in Alalbama. Nothing to worry about "probably just a tail light", right? Not! They are arrested and charged with a brutal murder. Two New Yorkers in an Alabama jail cell, they haven't got a prayer. But wait..enter a cousin, Vinny, who is a lawyer. Whew, what luck.
Vinny Gambini(Pesci) and his girl Lisa(Marisa Tomei),arrive with their Brooklyn accents, in their run down car, and leather outfits, like fish out of water to save the day. There's just a little problem..Vinny has never tried a case in his life, this is his first.

The Judge(Gwynne) has it in for Vinny from the start. He doesn't like his clothes, can't understand his accent("What's a Yout?"), and the fact the Vinny doesn't know courtroom preceedure is no big help either. The prosecuter(Lane Smith) has a pretty air tight case. But Vinny comes from a long line of some great arguers. Can he argue his way out of this one, clean up his act, and gather the evidence needed in time to save his cousin from frying? The laughs are non stop as Vinny Gabmini takes on Alabama!(or could it be the other way around?)

Pesci is at his comedic best. He was awarded "Funniest Actor" from the American Comedy Awards in 1993. Marisa Tomei took home Best Supporting Actress Oscar that year for her role as the leather clad, biological clock ticking, expert auto mechanic girlfriend. She also recieved "Best Breakthrough" at the MTV awards.I don't know how Gwynne managed to keep a straight face through his wonderful performance as the stern judge.Lane Smith, Ralph Macchio, and Mitchell Whitfield turn in strong performances as well.

The VHS has a nice clear picture and the sound and soundtrack are great in the Hi-Fi Stereo. It would be nice if it was offered in widescreen for VHS users, but you'll love it in any format.
Parents...It's rated "R" for language...lots of it!

Get the Popcorn AND the Grits ready and have fun......Laurie

Summary: Every Grandfathers favourite movie
Review: This is most likely their favourite movie of all the grandfathers that I have met. Really. They all love it. There is the part with the "mud in the tires," and they all love that. The part where he orders breakfast from the menu, that only says breakfast, lunch, and dinner, well they love that too. I have met a lot of grandfathers, and they all seem to say the same thing. "Have you ever seen my cousin Vinny?" Of course I have. It is a good one that Joe Pesci is in. the very pretty girl in it is named Mona-Lisa, and she dresses like a real non-southerner. there are good lines in it, and they make me laugh. There are nice cars in it too, and one of them is driven by Joe Pesci. The others are driven by other people, but I bet all of them have been driven by a grandfather at some point or another, and that is why they like this movie I'll bet.

Summary: Just one of the funniest movies of all time!
Review: There are really no words for this movie. Joe Pesci is hillarious, and the whole town and story of the misplaced "lawyer" is too much. We laugh throughout this entire movie. I have never liked Marissa Tomei (sp?) much, but she is really funny in this movie!

Summary: Very Funny Movie
Review: This is a very funny movie. Not in the sense of stupid caricatures and insults, but in a way that makes you laugh and feel good about laughing. Just the other night, eight of us adults were sitting around and started talking about movies. When someone mentioned this movie, every one of us agreed it was a very funny movie. That being said, you must view this movie or you may really be in the dark at your next party when movies come up. There are many one-liners and situations and most people will not remember them all. Pick your favorites and use them -- it will make people laugh with you.
