Summary: This movie will "leave a mark."
Review: This movie defies an explanation for why I find it so funny. Perhaps it's the 80's musical references. Perhaps it's the physical comedy of Chris Farley. Perhaps it's just so dumb it's funny.

On one level it's a cross-country road trip with the Odd Couple. An another level it's about friendship between two unlikely friends.

Brian Dennehy, Rob Lowe, Dan Akroyd, and Bo Derek play supporting roles. Dennehy and Farley are cast perfectly as father and son.

Nothing can compare to some of the movies' funniest moments: Farley explaining to a buyer why he should use Callahan brakes, Farley imitating a scene from "Of Mice and Men" using a bun in a diner, the deer coming to life in Spade's car, and Farley performing his signature physical comedy in an airplane restroom. You'll laugh till you cry.

Summary: Holy Shnikes
Review: "Holy Shnikes"

The movie Tommy Boy was released in 1995 and has a running time of 98 minutes. Peter Segal directed Tommy Boy in association with Paramount Pictures. The film features Chris Farley (Tommy Callahan), David Spade (Richard Hayden),
Brian Dennehy (Big Tom Callahan), Bo Derek (Beverly Barish-Burns),
Rob Lowe (Paul Burns) and Dan Aykroyd (Ray Zalinsky). Tommy Boy is rated PG-13 for sex-related humor, some drug content and nudity. The soundtrack album is available on Warner Bros. Compact discs and cassettes.
Tommy Callahan is a party animal that has just graduated from college, by passing his last class with a D+. Tommy has spent the last seven years at college before returning home to Sandusky, OH to work in his father's auto parts manufacturing plant. Upon returning home, he learns that his widower father is to re-marry and she has a son who will be Tommy's new brother. On the day of the wedding, Big Tom, Tommy's father, dies of a heart attack. Tommy must now learn to run the company and go on this father's sales trip to sell the company's new brake pads. He is paired with Richard,
Big Tom's assistant, for this sales trip. If the two don't succeed in selling enough brake pads, the company will be forced to sell out to a competitor and 300 jobs will be lost. Tommy has a lot at stake if he fails. Tommy's sales pitches initially don't result in any sales until he learns that selling is really about confidence and being able to sell himself. Unbeknown to Tommy and Richard, Beverly and Paul, Tommy's new stepmother and stepbrother, are con artists and are trying to sabotage Tommy's efforts to save the company. Beverly and Paul are really married to each other and stand to inherent the family fortune if the company is sold. Eventually, Tommy and Richard are able to foil Beverly and Paul's plot. Tommy is hailed as a hero for saving the plant and the jobs of its 300 workers.
I give Tommy Boy five stars out of five. I absolutely loved it from start to finish. Chris Farley is a wonderful physical actor and uses his size to his advantage. When paired with David Spade, the two are a perfect comic couple. David has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor that he unleashes on Farley. Tommy Boy is funny on several different levels that require several viewings to fully appreciate. The sound track is great and has lots of songs that you can sing along with, if you know the words. Tommy saves the company and gets the girl. It doesn't get much better than this.

Summary: FARLEY WAS ONE OF THE BEST
Review: I saw Tommy Boy in the theater the day it came out!I loved it.
I thought it would do for Chris's career what"Ace Ventura" did for Jim Carey's career.Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Summary: Chris Farley Rules!!!
Review: Tommy Callahan (Played by SNL's Chris Farley) plays the son of a Auto Parts Tycoon that has just died. The company has been stretched thin financially because his father was just about to launch a new brake pad division. Tommy decides to take his father's place and promote the new brake pads to save the company from being bought out by Zalinsky (played by SNL's Dan Akroyd) auto parts.

Most of the movie revolves around the adventures of Chris Farley and David Spade, who has been assigned to Tommy to keep him in line. The two actors play off each other so well, they could easily be considered one of the best comedic duos of all time.

In the lighthearted fashion of "Black Sheep" and "Billy Madison", this movie is truly hilarious and equally brainless at times. Farley proves that he is a comedic master in what I consider to be his best film.

If you have never seen this movie before I guarantee it will make you laugh from start to finish. A comedic masterpiece that everyone should own!

Summary: One of the last good comedies with SNL cast members
Review: Anyone who has seen Tommy Boy, even if they thought it was terrible, laughed. It's impossible not to. Chris Farley, as usual, brings his so dumb humor to the big screen that you can't help but laugh at. And then of course to go with it, you have David Spade's smart-mouth humor. Put them together and you have a damn funny movie. The only thing that is sad about this is that Tommy Boy was one of the last funny movies with SNL cast memebers, except for Black Sheep and a few Adam Sandler movies.

This is one of the funniest movies ever made. Watch out for appearances from Dan Akroyd as the owner of a huge chain of break-pad companies who is threatening to buy Callahan auto and fire all of it's workers. This is definatly a comedy you do not want to miss.

"Tommy Boy" runs for about 95 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for sexual humor, some language, comic violence, and brief nudity.

Summary: The best work of Chris Farley and David Spade
Review: If you see this movie and don't laugh until it hurts, then you must be blind or deaf. In their first theatrical appearance together, comedians Chris Farley and David Spade team up with an all-star cast featuring Brian Dennehy, Bo Derek, Dan Akroyd, and Rob Lowe. This is one comedy that is guaranteed to have you laughing every minute of the way, even if you're in an iron lung.

You will love such hilarious moments as "What'd you do?", "It's Alive!", "Need a pooper scooper", "Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a kid?", not to mention the scene where Tommy (Farley)almost robs a bank, or when Richard's (Spade) toupee flies off his head. These are just a few of the hundreds of goofy looks and gestures from Farley and completely spontaneous comments and comebacks from Spade. These two make a duo that is unforgettable. I highly recommend watching this movie as many times as your DVD player will allow.

Summary: Thatta Boy, Tommy!
Review: Chris Farley and David Spade's first movie together is a treasure. Tommy (Farley) is a slow, dim-wit with a big heart and Richard (Spade) is an annoying, conceded little punk who harrasses Tommy. The chemistry that they share is great and they make this movie memorable. Callahan Auto sells brake pads and ensures the safety of all of their clients. When Tommy's father dies, it's up to Tommy and Richard to sell enough to stay in business. However, Tommy's mother-in-law wants all of the Callahan wealth and only pretends to be a loving person. What a witch! Meanwhile, the boys go on a road trip and sing songs. Oh, happy days! They hit a deer which is still alive, Tommy ruins some model toys, he gets hit in the face countless times and Tommy eventually saves the company. Dan Aykroyd plays his number one competitor and they have a mutual agreement. This movie will have you laughing and crying. To avoid getting a ticket say, "Oh my God, killer bees!"

Summary: Chris Farley and David Spade. . .can you imagine?
Review: This is a movie that just cranks up one laugh after another. When you take an overweight, hysterical, crazy, out-of-your mind party animal person such as Chris Farley and put him next to the cynical, laid back, smug little character of David Spade, and you're in for a good time. This movie makes me laugh harder every time I watch it, discovering new little funny things that I never even noticed before!
Thumbs up for Chris Farley's acting - it takes a skilled person nontheless to portray someone like this. And David Spade plays his roll exceptionally well, too. Chris Farley's character is funny just because of WHO he is. David Spade is funny because of WHO Chris is, too. It's a pretty funny combo.

Chris Farley's character is the dopey yet loveable Tommy Callahan, a recent college grad. who has just come off seven years in school. ("A lot of people go to college for seven years," he says. "I know," David Spade replies. "They're called doctors.") His father is the owner of Callahan Auto Parts, which is a top seller of brakpads.
And when his father remarries, and Tommy finds out that she has a son (his new brother that he never had!), his life seems like it couldn't get any better. But when his father suddenly dies after the wedding ceremony, and the company is in jeaporday, Tommy himself must go out and sell brake pads to save the company, with poor Richard (Spade's character) at his side. Believe me, this would have been a lame plot had it not been a comedy. But it works very nicely for this movie.
There are several innapropiate scenes with women, such as when Tommy first meets his future step-mother (Bo Derek - get the picture?), and when Richard sees a woman skinny-dipping in a pool. And there's some innapropiate jokes along the way, so this movie probably wouldn't be very good for kids. But for preteens and up, this is a fun comedy that's sure to make you wet your pants, at least!
