Summary: Great flick...
Review: I received the unrated version of American Pie as a gift from my cousin. Just by looking at the back of the DVD case, I was expecting almost a 'director's cut' of the film. After watching the movie a few times now, I can't really say that the Unrated version is any better than the generic version which was seen in theaters. About the only changes that I myself noticed were the position of Jason Biggs as he umm...has fun with the pie. The other noticeable inclusion is the explicit pictures in the 'Sex Bible', other than that, I didn't see any huge changes. That doesn't mean the Unrated version is a total failure though, the rated and unrated versions are roughly the same price, so one might as well get this over the original. Additonally, the movie itself is a blast to watch, especially with a group of friends. It does a decent job of portraying the high school life, although it does exaggerate some characters (which benefited the movie) like Stifler and the entire band people. If there were any other notes about the movie, one could say that it defines the 90's teenager. Acting performances are above average and one shouldn't be disappointed by any of the actors...especially Biggs, whose portrayal of a typical teen is dead on. If I had one comment about the presentation of the DVD itself, it seems somewhat cheesy. The interface, although including many different features seems clunky and unpolished. Other than that minor gripe, go pick this up, you should be well satisfied by this brilliantly funny movie.

Summary: Screwed, Blewed & Tatooed
Review: Only three stars for the "drink the beer" scene, the "internet/bedroom" scene, and the "school bathroom" scene. The rest I wanted to like, but the flick went into typical high school hijinks then meandered like the lost exchange student on campus. The choir competiton was just too sappy, I don't care if it's supposed to be part of the story, those characters and their lines sounded like grammar school-play material. Eugene Levy's great as the dad. Get it for a couple hilarious laughs, but not a great flick as a whole.

Summary: Mr. Real
Review: I watched this movie at the theather and I recently bought the Unrated Versiond (DVD) there wasn't much difference between the two versions (barely noticeable) but I recommend this movie a lot, it is very funny if you take away the gross stuff, kind of romantic and you will surely enjoy it (Don't watch it with Parents, Grandmas and friends of the opposite sex, kind of awkward) and watch it with a cold glass of beer. (hehehe) I really recommend this movie to bye, it will always get a laugh at of you!

Summary: great movie, just no need for the 2 versions
Review: This movie really took me back to my teenage days (which wasn't too long aga). It was hilarius as the four friends make the pact to get laid by the senior prom. This film showed how rumors could really boost your rep, and how bad it felt when you saw some nerdy dude get a piece before you. Jim is kind of the focus of the friends who will do anything for that first piece, or something that feels like it. Non stop laughter from a cast of unknowns. This is really a hit. Only disappointment was my expectations from buying the unrated version. There is very little difference between the two versions and definitely no reason to tag this movie "unrated". I think it is just a marketing ploy to sell more movies and I'm sure it has worked, I fell for it. I give the original version 5 stars, and this unrated version 4 stars because of the unfulfilled expectations. The few changes could have easily been placed on a deleted scene file and all sold on one dvd.`

Summary: why is it unrated?
Review: I liked the movie, but Im seriously wondering why this was a unrated version? It seemed like it was the same movie I saw at the movies.

Review: AMERICAN PIE IS THE EPITOME OF THE LIVES OF FOUR YOUNG MEN TRYING FOR THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE OF LOSING THEIR VIRGINITIES.WITH THEM ALL GOING TO EXTREME ENDS IN TRYING TO GET TO THEIR END GOAL, IT IS AN EXTREMELY HALARIOUS JOURNEY.SIT BACK RELAX BOYS AND REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS.FOR THE GALS NOW WE KNOW WHAT IT LIKE GROWING UP A BOY ,TRYING TO BECOME A MAN

Summary: "Fast Times" anyone?
Review: There is something about this movie that immediately reminds me of Fast Times at Ridgemont High(1982, Sean Penn, et. al)...sort of a late 90's, perverted recreation of it. It blends the day-to-day culture and situations of typical American high school students with overwhelming hilarity; at the same time covering subject matter such as "commitment," "sex," and "true love." I have to say that American Pie was just a bit more hilarious than Fast Times at Ridgemont High, while at the same time putting old 80's social issues in the background (i.e. unwanted pregnancies, infidelity) and replacing it with "pseudo-serious" issues. It is a perfect reflection of direct and to-the-point 90's comedy and far-out fun.
