Summary: Scooby-Daba-Doo!
Review: I'm not very fond of the results of movies based on videogames/comics books or cartoon. Frankly, because they never almost live up to the hype and expectations. And when I saw that Scooby Doo was going to be a motion picture, I looked forward to see it alot, but at the same time I had the hunch that it would very well [stink], basically. When I finally went and saw it, I came out SLIGHTLY dissapointed, but when I saw it again, I knew it was a great movie. I realized that the movie should be considered only on what it is, not what it should have been.
The movie is, as we all know, based on the cartoon series, which I as a kid loved alot, and I watched it until I grew out of it, and I haven't seen one episode since. In the movie, the Mystery Inc. (the gang: Freddy, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and of course Scooby) split up after solving their last mystery together. Two years later, they meet out of some fate and are headed to the tropical, theme park island Spooky Island to solve a mystery that turns teenagers into beach bum zombies. And here is where the adventure begins, and let me tell you that the ending is the most BIZARRE I've seen in a movie!!...
Scooby Doo is a hilarious movie that lives up to the cartoon most of the time. Scooby is well made and resembles alot to the cartoon version, which I think deserves a star for that. The cast are ok, but the price goes to Matthew Lilard's voice as Shaggy, since his looks like Shaggy and acting isn't that accurate. Rowan Atkinson makes an appearence as the owner of the park/island and also a glimpse of Scrappy Doo as well, he.
In all, people have to understand that the director has to live up to the cartoon and yes, it may seem outdated. Go see it and see what you think, cause I loved it.

Summary: Not that bad...
Review: The highly anticipated release of Scooby Doo isn't all it's (and I'm resisting the urge to use a dog pun) cracked up to be. Sure the sets are colorful and fit the cartoonish feel nicely, and the CGI Scooby is just the right blend of cartoon and realism, but the movie falls a bit flat. The acting is so-so, none of the characters really personifying the cartoon characters (except the great Matthew Lillard), and the story clearifies no questions we had about the gang, contrary to what the creators say. I'm assuming the filmmakers wanted to keep the PG rating so they shied away from such taboo topics as Shaggy and Scooby being high and Velma's rumored homosexuality. It all ended in a bizarrely obvious twist at the end and a wide opening for a sequel, which may not be that bad, but then again it may not be that good either.

Summary: Great Movie - If you have seen the shows...
Review: This is a great movie for all of you who have enjoyed the shows. Some may say that its not funny and thats probably because they have never seen the show and they don't get many of the in-jokes that are in the movie. I enjoyed the movie and I will definetely buy the DVD.

Summary: GOOD, DON'T LISTEN TO BAD CRITICS
Review: I had heard that this movie was a "scooby don't" but i enjoyed it. I am a teenager and I have grown up with scooby doo. I recommend seeing this movie, it is very funny especially if you love scooby doo (as I do) This movie is worth the money. Go and see it, you'll like it. I won't say anything about the story line but it is very good. This movie puts and emphasis on each characters stand out characteristics. Fred-good looking, Daphne-always needing to be saved, Velma-smart & girl with a plan, Shaggy & Scooby-love food and scared of their own shadows.

Summary: It's Only So So
Review: Even my 5 year old was a little thrown by this movie. If movies like Shreck and Monsters Inc. weren't being made for children I would have given it more slack. The truth is children's movies have come a long way and this one didn't.

Summary: Better than it Looks
Review: I recently saw this movie and must say that it's better than it looks. Matthew Lilliard was a 'groovy' Shaggy and did his part perfectly. I still say that Prinze Jr. wasn't the best person to play Fred. He was never caught up in himself. Scooby was great and even though Shaggy was talking to himself for these parts, you could tell there was a bond between to two. Velma acted just the same, smart, of course. I also don't think they should have transformed Daphne into a martial arts champion. It's just not her style. This movie isn't really made for kids, but it's worth going to. Mainly to see Shaggy and Scooby. they were wonderful.

Summary: I loved it!!!!
Review: I, being a avid fan of the Scooby Doo cartoons, made up my mind that I would love this movie even if they changed the charecters quite a bit. However, when I saw the movie, I saw that thy didn't change the charecters much at all! This made me extemly happy. Velma was still the brains and made the plans and didn't quite fit in, and Linda Cardilini did an exalent job of protraying the tombboyish charecter.
Shaggy and Scooby were also extremly good. They didn't eat as much as they did in the cartoons, but I think that that was a very good thing. And Mathew Lillard was freakishly just like the Shaggy we all grew up knewing.
Daphne wasn't quite as good, I must say. He outfits we a bit more.....revealing then in the cartoons and her hair wasn't near red enough, but whatever, I guess she was cuter then in the cartoons. And she did have one cute out fit that I liked. Plus, you gotta love the boots over the shoes she wore in the cartoon! And her charecter was for the most part like the cartoon. She was a bit tougher, but that is explained in the movie. The transfermation happned during the 2 years after thei break up.
Then theirs Fred. As much as I liked Freddie Prinze Jr., I don't think he was the best choise for the leader, Fred. The charecterr was a bit off, like Daphne's, but I supose I can live with it, because I must admit, he was preaty funny.
And the movie was funny. I laughed out loud several times, to my embaresment. :) But I really didn' care at the time because I was having a blast! The only bad thing I have to say is that there were a few screamoing kids, but it wasn't bad when you got out and saw just how many kids there were in the theater. And if you go late at night, or eaven early in the moring, you won't have that problem. Well, no one probably has read this far so I will end my review here. Basical, all I have to say, is that the charecters were, for the most part, right on, and it was really quite funny. :)

Summary: Don't think I'm a Scoob-aholic
Review: I've never really watched Scooby Doo, But my grandma says my grandfather was a big fan, and so were my parents. But the two kids i baby-sit are in complete love with the great dane and his pals and make me sit down and watch the the tv show when it comes on. Now, I've only seen a few episodes and yesterday I went to see the movie.I had already made plans to see the flick b/c SMG was in it and I'm a big Buffy fan. Well, the movie completly blew me away! I'm not gonna give away anything b/c then it takes away the surprise, but I will say that I think Freddie Prinz Jr. did a fantastic job in the movie. He portrayed his character well, and don't blame him if he wasn't EXACTLY like Fred from the t.v. series. He just played by the script, but I could tell that he tried to encorparate his character's original form the best he could. There is only one word for Matthew's performance as Shaggy and that is 'Genius'. He was born to play the role, as most have said. SMG did a great job playing Daphne. She was believable as the pretty-tho-slightly-kidnapped-prone red head. I really enjoyed the fact that her character tried to change and work on defending herself. The interactions between her and Prinze wasn't all lovey dovey either. It wasn't completly obvious that Fred and Daphne had a thing going on, but you just KNEW they liked each other. The woman who played Velma (I can't remember her name) was just how I'd always imagined velma to b like. Like Matt, her performance deserves 'Genius'. I was a bit bummed out tho that some of the scenes from the trailers had been edited out of the movie, but it didn't affect anything. I recomend this movie to everyone, even if you haven't seen the tv-series. Just go rent one of the short movies or check out the show on cartoon network. I assure you, u won't b dissapointed. and, I just want to add a few more things. Don't go see the movie and critique it as a great lover of the show. It's the same thing they did to star wars. People go in there and expect to see another Empire strikes back. Don't watch the movie expecting it to be exactly like the show. watch this with a clean, clear perspective. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL!

Review: Scooby Doo is a great way to spend 90 minutes of your day. Their are jokes for people of all ages. Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, and Sarah Michelle Gellar did great as Shaggy, Velma, and Daphne. Freddie Prinze Jr. did a good job playing the blockheaded Fred, but he didn't seem to be as into it as the other actors were. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to relax and have a good time.
