Summary: Stylistically impaired, but I don't care
Review: Perhaps it's just the case of nostalgia flooding my heart, or maybe it's the fact that I found a certain charm in Adam Sandler even in his most brazenly annoying moments in "Billy Madison" (a film which is for me a guilty pleasure), but "The Wedding Singer" touched my heart more than any other film I've seen in the past year. Of course I could bore you with the fact that the film's characters have all the dimensions of stick figures, that the plotline makes your typical episode of "Friends" seem as labyrinthine as a Dostoevsky novel, that some of the dialogue has all the depth of an Olsen twins catchphrase, or that some of the acting (paging Allen Covert)makes Nancy Kerrigan's "Saturday Night Live" skits a tour-de-force in comparison. Still I walked into the film expecting your usual Adam Sandler movie [likeable albeit ill-tempered 30-year old loser gets dumped by his girlfriend, hobknobs with (fill in name of famous game-show host or late 70s/early 80s has-been) and proceeds maniacally to wreak havoc on ("Mad Lib" your own menagerie of snobby debutantes)]and was quietly surprised at just how sweet it actually is. Sure, the songs may not have the haunting beats of Jim Morrison or John Lennon, but it sure is fun, and riding on a crest of nostalgia was possibly the best thing this film had going for it. There are scenes in the film which captures the aura of the 80s just right that I couldn't help being pulled in. One of these scenes happens when Adam Sandler walks Drew Barrymore to her fiancee's DeLorean while the Psychidelic Furs' "Love My Way" plays in the background. Another happens when I realized what a heartfelt movie this was during the bar mitzvah/tush-grabbing scene where Sandler sings "That's All" while the whites of the beautiful Barrymore's eyes shine so brightly you're afraid that her pupils might dilate. The film wears its sweetness on its sleeve, a move which I thought was not only courageous on the part of the trying-to-stretch-himself Sandler to the legions of hard-core fans who reveled in his bathroom humor, but refreshing compared to the cynicism of such Hollywood smashes as "Titanic" (Kate Winslet flipping her manservant the bird), "City of Angels" (Nicolas Cage spurns the innocence of celestiality for a perpetually teary-eyed Meg Ryan), and "Good Will Hunting"(poor-pouty Matt Damon complains to Minnie Driver how she's using him so she can tell her friends of how she "once went slumming too!", and my reaction is "Where did Damon & Affleck get this subplot for their Oscar-bound script from? Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous?"). Sure, it may not be perfect, and its technical proficiency cannot compare with such films as "Titanic" or "City of Angels" (both of which, don't get me wrong, were beautifully photographed films with a sense of tragic grandeur to them). But on a rainy day, I'll bypass those films with the genuine candy-coating of "The Wedding Singer", a film I'd like to grow old with.

Summary: Here's a brief synopsis of the movie
Review: Real quick review of this movie...

15 years ago, there was music, television, and clothes. Today, all those things have changed. Therefore, showing how these things were back then is, today, funny!

Yeah, right. Homer Simpson probably put it best when he said "his clothes are different than my clothes" as justification for something being funny. But you know what? HOMER SIMPSON IS AN IDIOT.

Lame movie

Summary: Great romantic comedy
Review: I really enjoyed this film. I think it's one of the most beautiful stories I've ever come accross in a screen. Sandler's performance is great, he is a solid comedy actor, but also a reliable drama performer. Drew Barrymore is as beautiful as usual (even more). This woman's smile can improve the quality of any romantic film by itself. Supporting actors are also great. In conclusion, if you want to have a very good time, and you like comedy and / or love stories, this is a movie I strongly recommend.

Summary: Good movie, Good soundtrack!
Review: This is one of the only funny alright 80's movies I have seen. I has funny references to popular 80's things, like Michael Jackson. The soundtrack is also cool. It has some great songs. Although Sandler had better movies, this still lives up to any of his good movies.

Summary: The Wedding Singer is COOOOOL!!! 5-Star, Must see!!
Review: I loved when Adam Sandler sings his song about the "break-up" with his brainless fiance. I roared on the floor laughing. And his song at the end brought tears to my eyes -- it was so sweet. I also like his rendition of "Love Stinks" when he is asked to perform at a wedding shortly after his never took place.
