Summary: Best comedy of the Year??? HA!
Review: I found this 'comedy' to be severely lacking in humor. While there were a few (very few) funny scenes, this movie had no continuity at all, and was a waste of time and money.

Summary: Uh...what? Okay...
Review: Laughs are few and far between in this bizarre, offbeat comedy with no resolution in the end. I finished watching it and felt as if I'd been mugged. Pretentious and depressing, there are no likable characters to speak of (with the exception of the first grade teacher). My main reaction is bewilderment; I thought this movie was supposed to be funny, but it was just strange and frustrating. An huge letdown.

Summary: Brilliant but quirky
Review: This movie is not for most people, but I loved it. It is intensely odd, but also intensely rewarding if you can connect with it. If you loved "Waiting for Guffman", you'll love this.

Summary: Best American comedy since Annie Hall
Review: This movie is amazing. The soundtrack tells more about teenage angst/love than any Alanis song, the editing is fascinating, and Max is the most incredible unlikely hero. I am so in love with this movie that seeing people call it "the worst movie ever" suprised me... until I remember the popularity of Independence Day.

Summary: The Best Movie of the Nineties
Review: This movie was so overlooked that it's a crime. Extremely original and deeply felt (and frequently hilarious), this is the best movie of the decade. While some critics point to films like "Pulp Fiction" or "Fargo," they can't compare to this picture. It is utterly gimmick free, it has great characters, and everything about it is realistic. Great, believable dialogue, snappy pacing, and an overall mellow vibe help to make this an indelible snapshot of an extremlely trying period in a young man's life. It's not loud, it doesn't try and grab your attention, yet you will not never forget this movie. Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson bring the same quirky humor to the table that ran all through their last effort, "Bottle Rocket," but they have widened their scope and added a lot more punch. Add to the already pungent mix fresh, tragic performances by Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, and Oliva Cross, and you've got the best film to come down the pike since the decade began.

Summary: A fresh, delightful, poignant film.
Review: It is such a shame that this movie did not last long in the theaters. It is truly an intelligent, well written film. I am still in awe of the impressive performance of Jason Schwartzman's over-acheiving Max Fisher was absolutly incredible. I can't believe this young man of fifteen did such a fine job. The dialogue is sharp and witty. I wish there were more films like "Rushmore".

Summary: Wow.
Review: There are more fascinating characters in this film than in any other that I've seen in years. It's like a truly great play or novel: even the bit parts suck you in and make you really feel for their personalities. Rushmore is absolutely beautiful, there's no other way to descibe it!

Summary: An honest romantic comedy finally!
Review: This movie was reccomended to me by a friend and so i decided to give it a try. This movie was one pleasant surprise after another. Wes anderson has created a beautiful film that shines a new light on the tired genre of romntic comedy. This is a movie that doesn't gloss over how incredibly awkward and debilitating love can be. It is and honest movie that allows the viewer a look at the darker side of the "good guy" and the lighter side of the "bad guy". I would reccomend this to anyone who is sick of the typical romance flick and wants too fall in love with an oddly lovable cast of characters
