Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This film is one of those rare movies where a person just has no idea what will be said and done next! Just about every line and scene is funny, and the acting performances are great! I'm sorry to say that some of the funniest scenes are with one of the judges' mentally challenged brother, crudely called "the retard" by most characters. I felt terrible for laughing at the poor man, but, well, you'll see what I mean! All characters but Kirsten Dunst's Amber Atkins are kooky, crazy, and hilarious! Believe me, you need to see it for yourself.

Review: this movie is one of my top 20. it's so funny! i thought that it was more of a girl's movie at first, but as i started to watch it, the more funny it got!! if you read my other reviews, then you know that the extra features are what i think is most important, this DVD does'nt have very much (cast bios and a trailer) but i really did'nt care because i was laughing too much!! and the fact that the movie is set up like a documentry is funny in itself.the sound track is cool also, i suggest you listen to it if you get a chance somewhere or if you liked the music from the movie

Summary: Awful!
Review: I bought this movie because it had two of my favorite actresses in it, Kirstie Alley and Kirsten Dunst. I was however completely dissapointed in the movie and ended up giving it away. The idea of the plot was good, which is why it merits 2 stars but what they ended up with was terrible. It wasn't funny at all. If you want a good teen movie instead, get Down To You, 10 Things I Hate About You or She's All That!

Review: This movie is really, really funny. From the description of the movie, I didn't think I'd like it because it sounded like a trite storyline. However, the off-the-wall handling of the subject matter and the comedic ironies make this movie worth watching - again! The DVD version doesn't have any outtakes or deleted scenes, though, just the trailer.

Summary: Waste of a good cast.
Review: This beauty pageant mockumentary wants to be a"SpinalTap," but lacks the brains or the funny to pull it off. All it has are some broad jokes combined with cheap shots at undeserving targets. One of my favorite movies is South Park; I can definitely tolerate gross-out humor and un-PC satire. But Drop Dead Gorgeous lacks South Park's skill, smarts and its underlying sweetness. The jokes in Drop Dead Gorgeous come across as mean at least...and frequently vile... It has the same,... vibe of Very Bad Things or Happiness, but is less watchable because it thinks it's funny. I found a couple of chuckles at the beginning, but the movie quickly spent its limited appeal. Since the movie fails to generate any interest in its characters or plot, and it's not particularly funny, there was no reason to keep watching. Drop Dead Gorgeous now stands as the only major motion picture I have seen that I did not finish. About thirty minutes in I simply had enough...

Review: This genius movie shows the whole dark side of beauty pageants,ofcourse in black comedy ,starting from the anorexic ex princess to the blowing of the cheating winner, not to mention the nauseating scene where everyone was throwing up.it's truely one funny movie.

Summary: Kirsten Dunst Does It Again
Review: Here's a great mockumentary about a small town beauty pageant. The cast is first rate and they seemed to have a fun time filming it. There's a laugh in almost every scene and wait until you see some of the hats, (ala Beach Blanket Babylon--only smaller). Feeling a little blue? Then this is for you!

Summary: DROP DEAD GORGEOUS DOESN'T MISS AMERICA
Review: The subtle balance DROP DEAD GORGEOUS tries to offer between the AIRPLANE kind of "MAD" humor and a social critique à la "MASH" is very hard to master. How make people think about important matters when they are rolling over the carpet laughing ? Director Michael Patrick Jann's DROP DEAD GORGEOUS stands the test rather well and can be classified next to the best movies of John Waters. This rare critique of America's conservative heart is reassuring in this period lacking of real author-directors. Hollywood delivers super-heroes by the dozens but forgets to discover the successors of Frank Capra or Robert Altman. The studios prefer to hire foreign directors than to give more liberty to the young american directors waiting in front of their golden doors. Too bad. Kirstie Alley, Ellen Barkin and Denise Richards are very well casted and, it must be repeated, are outstanding. So, if you want to have a good laugh AND something to think about, you definitively have to see DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. A -vote for me- DVD.

Review: This movie is a classic! For anyone who's never been to the Midwest, it might seem a little extreme. Those of us who grew up there know it it really happens. Ellen Barkin is great as Annette and Allyson Janey plays "white trash" so well its hard to believe she's on The West Wing now! This the best dark comedy to come along since "Heathers!" "Are we on COPS! "
