Rating: Summary: Classic Film, Horrific DVD Review: It's really a shame that the quality of the video and audio of this DVD is the worst of any DVD I have ever rented or purchased. I cannot understand why they would butcher a such a classic. With the possible exception of Back to School, this is Rodney Dangerfield's best work on film. Even that silly gopher is an endearing character!
Rating: Summary: One of the Funniest Comedies of All Time! Review: Y'know, I get rather disgusted when I read reviews of movies like Caddyshack which describe it as "no-brainer" and "low-brow" (see the Amazon.com review, for example). The fact is that many so-called critics really don't have a clue when it comes to comedy movies of this type. Disrespect and irreverence for the establishment has been a staple of comedy movies for years. Are the only good comedies the light-hearted drivel that the likes of Grant and Hepburn made in the 30's? Of course not!Caddyshack features fine performances from Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, Ted Knight, and of course, the gopher. This motion picture is replete with sight gags and one-liners that to this day are repeated by afficianados of clever satire. You don't have to be a lowbrow to like this movie, and just because you think it's funny doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. Caddyshack and Animal House withstand the test of time as two of the funniest comedies ever made...and that stands for a lot! The next time you find someone who thinks you're a reprobate for liking this movie, get Carl the Greenskeeper to cut his hamstring...he'll never play golf again!
Rating: Summary: A hole in one! Review: A great cast of well-known comedians (both living and deceased) combine their talents to present a widely-encompassing look at the activities that can be found at the usual country club. This film is consistently funny from beginning to end and is great fun for the entire family.
Rating: Summary: Caddyshack Review: Caddyshack is the God of all comedies. All others have tried to achieve such a level of brilliance, though none have done it. Some have come close but not matched. The first scene sets the stage. " I like you Betty. " How about, " Do you do drugs Danny? Every day sir. So what's the problem? " The scene with Chevy and Bill Murray is absolutely untouchable. You have to watch them improvise, because there is no way that half of that is actually written. Watch their facial expressions and body movements when the camera is focused on someone else. I could talk about every scene. Watch it over and over. It only gets better.
Rating: Summary: The Funniest Ever Review: Caddyshack is the funniest movie ever. From Dangerfield's cracks to Murray and the gopher. The movie is supposed to be about a caddy named Danny Noonan (Michael O'Keefe) but nobody really cares about him. Everybody likes the hilarious antics of Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Ted Knight better. This movie ranks up there with Animal House as an all-time comedy great. You will be reciting the quotes for years.
Rating: Summary: Caddyshack GREAT, DVD Poor Review: Caddyshack is, well, Caddyshack. You wouldn't buy it if you didn't know it's one of the funniest cult movies of all time. The DVD is poor. All I can get out of it is Center channel sound. This was a slipshod, half-baked effort so they could make money off a DVD. The sound on the VHS tape is better....
Rating: Summary: Funniest movie ever - terrible DVD Review: I have always loved this movie and it was one fo the first DVDs I bought. I sold it almost immediately because the trasfer to DVD is so terrible. It is shame they even bothered making this DVD. I hope they release a widescreen version soon.
Rating: Summary: the funniest moive I have ever seen Review: "oh, thats the ugliest hat i have ever seen, that hat is so ugly you get a free bowl of soup when you buy it, oh but it looks good on you" that is all i have to say
Rating: Summary: They will study this film in 1000 years Review: It will be imitated, but never eclipsed
Rating: Summary: You're uncle molests collies!!!! Review: I got the 19th Anniversary edition for my b-day and it was really nice seeing the film and a documentary on it. What makes the film go is the veteran skills of Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield,Ted Knight, and Bill Murray. The lines are right on target and the music by Kenny loggins is great
