Summary: Loved It !
Review: I think some people tried to think too hard about this movie - it was pure entertainment: good-natured, charming (if predictable), a romantic "comedy of errors". One needed to just suspend belief and enjoy the moment.

Reese Witherspoon's charisma and charm lent much to "Sweet Home Alabama". Granted, Melanie was not perfect, but she honestly showed the conflicts she felt in her personal tug of war: the country mouse vs. the city girl, the real vs. the phony, all personified in the mock Civil War battle of the north vs. the south.

I thought this was a good portrayal of small-town southern life and of someone who doesn't quite fit in no matter where she is. Witherspoon's facial and body language showed this conflict perfectly. She is a gem.....and the rest of the talented cast did a great job too.

I also loved that SIMON PEARCE's gorgeous, stunning glass pieces were used in this movie. You will have to see it to find out what I mean!

Summary: Sweet but stereotypes people from the South
Review: I loved the movie I thought it was cute and sweet. And I was
glad to see two Southerner playing the lead roles.Actually we
have varying accents in the South and I did recognize the ones
they've used here.I have heard a lot of northern actresses playing
Southerners and they didn't bother to get an dialect coach.I noticed!!Actually I'm from Jackson,Mississippi and no one I've ever
met lives in a trailer park or does civil war renactments.I shuddered as I could see the Southern stereotypes being formed
in the theater. But I'm a cool enough chick to get over that.
I thought that both the guys in the movie were adorably. In a time
where Ben Affleck(not cute) and Tom Cruise(who was cute when he was twenty) are the leads I was happy to see these two guys get the roles.I was consistentley laughing throughout the movie mostley for the small jokes that not everyone would get,"don't sass me girl"(lmao)....There are so many great movies about New York. But it's good to see something about the South.I think you could improve on the movie. But keep trying
to make good Southern movies.I'll be waiting.

Summary: I'd rather be at the dentist's having a root canal
Review: To sum it up in a nutshell, it was tacky and ... It promotes the stereotype that all Southerners are hicks who eat grits and wear white sheets over their head. What's her face is supposed a world famous fasion designer but can't dress, Also, she runs to her dumb ... drunk ex. Please, this movie was over-hyped and a total waste of $.

Summary: Doris Day 2002
Review: You can tell I'm a baby boomer who grew up watching bubbly Doris Day in umpteen romantic comedies! I must say it was refresing to once again see a delightful actress fill the screen and the movie with an upbeat light hearted performance.
No, this is not a movie that requires thinking or angst just a very nice way to wile awway a few hours. What with all that is going on these days, I find myself needing entertainment that just plain makes me feel good and this move accomplishes that!

Summary: Absolutely Adorable
Review: Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses. She can really carry off a certain look. She brought to the movie a genuine feel. The writers wrote this movie just for her. It was funny, moving, and absolutely adorable.

Summary: Sweet Home Alabama
Review: Good Start and cute finish, but thoroughly predicatable. Could have used a much better plot. Main Character was offensively cruel, but naturally changes the longer she's there.

Summary: Funny
Review: I love a good romantic comedy, so I was really looking forward to this film. I'm a big Reese Witherspoon fan, and she didn't disappoint. I liked that she took a few risks and didn't make Melanie too nice - in fact, there were times I thought she was really obnoxious.

The plot was paper thin, though, and it was pretty obvious from the get go who Mel would end up with. Josh Lucas and Patrick Dempsey were both pretty good, but Dempsey should've been in the movie more. I wanted more exploration of Mel's relationship with her parents, too. Mary Kay Place and Candice Bergen were wasted.

This is a decent comedy that will give you a few good laughs, but once you leave the theatre you'll forget about it. I don't think you'll regret seeing it, though I wouldn't rush to the theatre. It would make a great rainy night rental.

Summary: Sappy but Cute
Review: Reese Witherspoon carries this movie withiout a doubt. It is a bit sappy but it is also cute and a bit funny. A good, clean mix of all the previous. Resse plays Melanie, a New York City designer that must head back home to Alabama to divorce her high school boyfriend whom she left behind many years ago in order to marry her new high society man. When she gets home she starts to realize that she has missed home. She is torn between her old love and her new. Her old way of life and her new. Has she been living a lie? Who will she chose?

The theme has been explored before but this movie does a decent job with a well worn theme. Reese shines but I personally liked her steady, down home high school love with the pick up truck and the dog.

Who would you chose?
