Rating: Summary: THREE AND A HALF STARS!! Review: I laughed alot in this movie as it was so hysterically funny. Between the take-offs from other movies, to the "Wham" scene with the roommates, and Derek Zoollander's stupidity, I was continously laughing and have a great time at this movie. It's about a very dim-witted male model, Derek Zoollander, played with great comedic talent and timing by Ben Stiller. He's programmed by an evil fashion designer, played by Will Ferrell of SNL fame, to assinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Owen Wilson, who I absolutely love in everything I've seen him in, plays Hansel, the new male model and competition for Zoollander. They are both totally stupid but funny at the same time. Are male models really this stupid? I definitely think this movie goes a little over the top with it's comedy, but it's a great vehicle for Stiller and Wilson. There are many cameos by other actors and actresses. David Duchovny, of X-Files, does a cameo of a washed up hand model. You won't recognize him, but his voice gives him away. Now for the romantic interest, which was kind of lame. Christine Taylor, who played Marcia in the Brady Bunch movies, is a reporter, who is trying to help save Zoollander from the evil doings of Ferrells' character.(I can not recall his name) She and Zoollander, who are married in real life, develop into something. The ending of the movie is what brought my grade to a 3 1/2 stars as opposed to 5 stars. It was very lame, I feel that it could've been better executed. But in a nutshell, I would recommend it for a zany day of laugh filled movie viewing. While the comedy in this film was extremely zany and over the top, one should just go with the flow and have fun at this movie. My husband took it way too seriously. I myself was a little disappointed at the ending of it, but all in all, it was a great time at the movies because I haven't laughed that much at one in a long time. I have been a fan of his since his show, and I like all his movies. I did like this movie alot!!! and other Stiller fans will appreciate it too.
Rating: Summary: Save your money. Review: It's a sad day when a Keanu Reeves movie blows a Ben Stiller flick out of the water. While there were some funny spots, the movie overall was hard to get into, shallow, not quite funny enough. And I'm usually pretty happy to sit back and "suspend belief" for the sake of entertainment but found myself wondering when this would be over. I'd skip this flick if I had to do it again. What I considered funny as hell:Rush Hour 2, American Pie 2, and Rat Race. Harball was a good movie as well.Kowalski Pro-Wrestler
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, That's About It Review: Don't look to Zoolander for an intelligent comedy (ie: meet the parents, there's something about mary, two other Ben Stiller films), look to it as an Austin Powers type film, only the gags are more chuckling than laughing. The many cameo's are entertaining, but overall Zoolander is just another "dime a dozen" comedy with nothing new to add. Check it out if you're in the mood for a straight up silly comedy.
Rating: Summary: If you like seeing comedies that are stupid you have to see Review: This movie is one of the stupidest movies i've ever seen. Although it was pretty funny. It had a great cast of new actors that I think will have a great career. the point of this movie is a male supermodel Derek Zoolander(Ben Stiller)is outdone by a new model Hansel (Owen Wilson). Zoolander gets brainwashed by a evil fasion designer (Will Ferell) to kill the ambassador of Malasia. Only when he hears the song "Relax" he pays no attention to anything but killing the ambassador. In the end Hansil and Zoolander team up and outdo their enemies. It was'nt the stupidest movie i've ever seen but I can't wait to get it when it comes out on DVD.
Rating: Summary: As funny as Austin Powers! Review: Great movie. Ben Stiller still has it. I thought Meet the Parents and There's Something About Mary was the best ever, but this could very well be one of his best. Must See!!!
Rating: Summary: Stiller proves he doesn't need to co-star with big names! Review: Ben Stiller plays Derek ZOOLANDER, a dimwit of a male model who seems to know there is more to life than his looks, but he does not know what. When he loses "Male Model of the Year" to Hansel (played by Owen Wilson), his dense mind--or lack thereof, might prove to be exactly what a top designer needs to help keep down costs. Stiller co-wrote, produced, and directed ZOOLANDER. More fun than expected.
Rating: Summary: Stupid!...a waste of $ Review: This movie was not that funny...just stupid. Two guys that are really dumb and not that humorous. Save $10 on this one and see something else, unless maybe your IQ is below 80.
Rating: Summary: HILARIOUS! Review: You must see this movie, if its the only movie you see ever again, make it this one!! It's soo funny, it will keep you laughing throughtout it. I personally went because I like David Bowie, who has a very small part, midway into the movie. Yea, I knew it was a comedy, and all, but I never expected to walk out still laughing from secens in the movie. I absolutley loved it! It is a MUST SEE MOVIE!
Rating: Summary: VERY FUNNY! Review: I just saw this movie last night, and it was incredibly funny. It was about a an evil fashion director who hires and brain-washes stupid models into assassinating people. The movie follows the character, Derek Zoolander(Ben Stiller), a male model, who is confused about his life and doesn't know if he should quit or remain a model. After he quits, he soon comes back to modeling after he is hired by Jacobin Mugatu(Will Ferrel),a very eminent fashion director. Mugatu brain-washes Zoolander and turns him into an assassin so he can murder the president of Malaysia. This movie is very funny, and I highly reccomend it to everyone who likes comedy.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Atrocious! Review: Words simply can't describe how awful Zoolander is. I went into the theatre expecting to be doubled over in laughter the entire time. Half of the jokes from the previews aren't even in the movie, and trust me, the jokes in the previews are great compared to the ones in the actual movie! The plot is too ludicrous for words, revolving around a fading supermodel who is brainwashed to assassinate the prime minister of Malaysia. Ben Stiller is a far better actor than this film gives him credit for. He was hilarious in Meet the Parents, but here he's simply not funny. Zoolander is not without it's one-liners, but for the most part, its an absolutely terrible excuse for a movie. Hopefully, Ben Stiller will deliver next time!
