Rating: Summary: Classic Simple Humor Review: Everyone that's bashing this movie in reviews has it all wrong. Get over yourself and take this movie for what it is--silly, slapstick humor. That's all--it's not trying to be anything more. If you're 1) a snooty moviegoer, 2) someone who knows what a "key grip" is, or 3) someone who likes to talk with their friends after a movie about how an actor's vivid portrayal brought a character to a new emotional level, then DON'T BOTHER buying this DVD. For the rest of you--people who love classic hilarity like SlapShot, Airplane, Cannonball Run and others--this movie is for you. I didn't even mean to see this in the theaters, but the movie we went to see was sold out. Afterwards was ecstatic as it made me laugh throughout. Stiller and Wilson are perfect in their mockery and hazing of the modeling industry. If you like to make fun of people that are full of themselves, this is a must see!!
Rating: Summary: Zoolander Review: I was [ticked] that we rented this trash. My wife and I did not laugh once during the part of the movie we managed to watch before turning it off. I cannot honestly believe that those who were involved with the making of this movie laughed even once when they watched the finished product....
Rating: Summary: I expected more!! Review: Zoolander was not a great movie and not a horrible movie, it was more in between. This film could have been much better but lacked mostly on the story and as it came closer to the end it got more ridiculouse and stupid, as in stupid not funny. They could have also gotten a better looking guy to play the role of Owen Wilson since, I don't want to be mean, his nose is pointed more to the left side then straight... and that made his role not beievable! Other than these lacking parts the film was ok!! It had an outstanding cast of appearences and had some jokes in it that made you wonder what was going through Ben Stillers mined while he was making this film, since the jokes were out right hilariouse! The role that Will Ferrel played was also out right hilariouse, just by the facial reactions of Will made me burst out laughing! If your a Ben Stiller fan deffinitley add this movie to your collection, if your more like a "I like Ben" then rent it first and then decide wheter you want to buy it!!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious, absurd and fact-based Review: Part of the success behind the film's humor is the undercurrent of truth behind its skewering of the fashion industry--and I don't mean the "X-Files"-esque conspiracy theory of clothiers putting out contracts on world leaders to protect their profits. Modelling, even male modelling, is incredibly cutthroat, with the models treated more like cash crops rather than human beings: E! reporter Jules Asner, whose coworker Steve Kmetko appears in here, admitted in a "Maxim" interview that in the early days of her brief modelling career she and Cindy Crawford shared a bunkbed in a bunkroom/storage locker similar to the one Derek wakes up in after his week of programming at Mugatu's daiye spa. The Skyy vodka ad of Derek that gets covered up after he loses his VH1 Male Model crown is a spoof of that brand's ad campaign that inspired Derek's look(s), which Ben Stiller claims is supposed to duplicate Marilyn Monroe without actually dressing up like her. Will Ferrell is absolutely hilarious as evil fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu with his wacky hairstyle, stereotypically-gay-sounding voice, and lines like "Obey my dog!" and "You learn martial arts! Prime Minister BAD! Martial arts GOOD!" as was Owen Wilson's hippie antics, entourage, and his ninja-like folding and deploying of a Razor scooter.
Rating: Summary: hilarious! Review: I happened to be feeling down before the movie, but after watching it, I felt really relaxed! It was a such a fun movie.
Rating: Summary: something even grandmas gonna like Review: ok, ok - maybe granny wont get a lot of the jokes, but what i mean is that its not so racy that she'd die of a stroke, but yet it is not so childish that 5-year-old Johnny cant sit down and watch it. it was an excellent flick - light and bouncy, a splash of romance, a good cast and script, and goofy, funny comedy. its one of those movies you can watch with your brother and his friends or with you and you friends at a sleepover. It was a great all around film for just a casual evening by yourself or with pals - definitely rent it! I LOVE BEN STILLER!!
Rating: Summary: Really Really Really Good Looking and Rather Dumb Review: Zoolander is basically good for a few chuckles, but I have no idea how it has a 4 star rating right now.
Rating: Summary: more garbage from Hollywood Review: I remenber when movies were good. Now, at 25, I realize that Hollywood has just stopped trying, and is in the business purely for the money. Zoolander is categorized as a comedy, but I wasn't laughing. It is probably funny for kids under eleven years old, what with all the urination jokes and non-material characters. Ben Stiller was funny in meet the parents, but this movie is boring and too predictable. It [stinks], so be advised to keep far away from this waste of time that further enriches Hollywood and its constantly falling standards of quality.
Rating: Summary: I Feel Like I'm Taking Crazy Pills!!!!!!! Obey My Dog!!! Review: Zoolander is a hilariously, goofball comeday about the fashion world. Try not to analyze it and enjoy the laugh-a-minute romp. Will Farrell is a scene stealer. Ben Stiller & Owen are a great comedy team. The DVD menus are the best I've seen in awhile. The extras are terrific as well. Great movie! Forget the critics!
Rating: Summary: Much much funnier than I thought it was going to be Review: Ben Stiller is really a funny guy when he tries hard. Zoolander was offbeat and silly and I enjoyed the time I spent watching it. It's not overlong and it doesn't take itself seriously...it's just a goofy movie about a goofy guy and his goofy problems. I think anyone with a sense of humour will have fun with it.
