Review: In Cerks, Kevin Smith has shown that a movie doesn't need a big budget (only $26,000) or great cast to make a terrificly entertaining movie that will keep you laughing the whole way through and long after that. You can tell that a movie has something special when the biggest complaint from people who say they hate the movie isn't anything relevant to the content of the film, just stupid, superficial things like profanity and the fact that it is in black and white. These are people who went into the movie with a closed mind and failed to let the brilliantly witty diologue and hilariously quirky characters break their preformed shell of disapproval around this movie. These are the same people who are laughing at my typos but not noticing that they spelled the "teh" about five times in theirs. Ignore these people, and go out and see this movie as soon as you can. Just keep in mind one thing, there's a reason that the diologue is way to complicated to be realistic: it's because real diologue with real people isn't funny, and this movie is. See it as soon as you can

Summary: Don't forget Mallrats next...
Review: An excellent film, really the first of the trilogy. Each time you watch Clerks you'll notice more of the surprisingly large amount of dark humour missed on first showing. When combined with Mallrats, and then Chasing Amy, you should have an excellent trilogy that you'd be proud to have on your shelves; and unlike some trilogies, each film is complemented and enhanced with the others, leading to an intricate and complex world that is in Kevin Smith's head.

Review: What can I say...I love this movie. I think it really appeals to me because it reminds me of the student films I made in high school. I think it was really well written. Once you veiw it, go back...and watch it again. Just sit and listen to some of the long speaches each of them make. Some are quite lengthy. Very well written. And, the fact it is shot in black and white make it all the much better. It gives it a quality, and diversity much needed in Hollywood today. Forget Episode 1.....gimmie Clerks 2.

Review: Unless you want stomach pains for the next 24-48 hours and an uncanny ability to snap off witty one-liners and remember what it was like to SERVE somebody (everybody's gotta serve somebody..) Don't Buy This Film! If however you do venture down these halls please bring an intellect with a knack for stringing more than 5 minutes (MTV) of subject matter together although you will need to keep on your toes because it does move quite quickly at times. PS - Why do people in IOWA not like this Film??

Review: Anyone who doesn't like this movie must never have held a retail job. However, for those of us who HAVE suffered through retail work (six years for me), this movie highlights everything that is wrong with the world, and shows why some people just deserve to be killed. Especially that "How much IS this thing, ANYway?" girl.

Summary: Simply put: Hilarious!
Review: The first time I picked up CLERKS, I didn't know what I was in for. I didn't know the movie was in black & white, and while I thought I'd be disappointed, I quickly found myself laughing uncontrolably from beginning to end. Its very rare that any movie these days can truly give you great storylines, interesting characters, yet keep you amused & interested the entire time. There is always something different going on in this movie, and you can never predict what will happen next. Yes this movie is low budget, and you can see that just in the film & actors themselves, but it is definetly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and I highly recommend it to everyone! No matter how many times I watch it, I still laugh.

Review: yes it's rude and low budget but that's what we like about it. if you find foul language offensive stay away...although that's about all you may find offensive since there's no nudity and almost no violence here. made on a shoestring budget this film highlights the escapades of some NJ clerks and the clients they so grudgingly serve.

Review: In an attempt to "identify" with the hip '90s generation, this film fails to cover the bases of a sound script, a good delivery by competent actors, and above all, a somewhat believable premise. I was amazed to see none of these while suffering through this one. However, I faintly picked up a glimpse of a good idea toward the end, but by then it was too late. Neat camera angles and a picture devoid of color, while intriguing at first, do not make up for this film's shortcomings (Hey, I just memorized this amazingly long monologue or I guess you'd call it a run-on sentence ten minutes ago and I think I can spit it out and remember to use words like "self-nullifying" and others that I would normally not EVER use in a normal conversation).

Summary: The most mentally devoid movie on the rack?
Review: No, this isn't a Navy Seals review folks. Clerks is a masterpiece in the world of low budget indie flix and as a comedy, out ranks any of Hollywood's over priced attempts at laughs. Silent Bob, er, Kevin Smith is the king of clever dialogue, subtle and not so subtle low brow humor and Stars Wars references. This movie admittedly starts slow, but it's just building it's foundation in order for Smith to floor you later. For those of you who haven't seen a Smith flick, Do so now. Come October when his new masterpiece, Dogma comes out, be prepared because those of us who have will be laughing quite loudly at some references you wont get. Don't get me wrong, Dogma and his other films will keep you utterly entertained even from your first viewing. Also, the DVD has a much better ending, it ends on such a down note. Life ends on a series of down notes.(Insider joke, sorry)(By the way, Shermer Illinois as listed in a previous review does not exist, it's a fictional city in John Hughes' movies that is referenced in Dogma.)
