Summary: A zany hidden treasure
Review: While visiting LA...friends said "you MUST see Sordid Lives"..
I did and every time I think about it...a smile comes on my face or I openly laugh. It's not an Oscar contender, but it is one funny flick....if you're even slight nutty....you'll LOVE this one.

Summary: Sordid Lives
Review: Funniest movie I have seen in years. A laugh a minute, with a good message regarding unconditional love. We all live "Sordid Lives" to some extreme. This movie makes us take a good look at ourselves. If you have ever lived in Texas, you'll love it, especially if your a Baptist-raised Gay!

Summary: Sordid Lives FOREVER :)
Review: I have three words to say about this movie. OH MY GOD! Last Friday night makes 7 times i've seen this movie in the theater. I have NEVER seen a movie more than 2 times in a theater. This is quite possibly the most HILARIOUS movie ever made. I have yet to find a close second. Please do yourself a favor and see this movie at least once. I promise that won't be enough! Sordid Lives has the potential (once it has it's name out enough) to develope a following as enormous and devoted as Rocky Horror Picture Show. I hope that my prediction becomes reality one day!

Summary: Achingly Funny
Review: I cannot imagine why I hadn't heard of this movie until a guy in a bar in Palm Springs told me about it, and said I must see it. At the time of this writing the movie has been showing at the Camelot Theatres for 36 weeks.
It is an astonishing piece, based on the play of the same name. With their intertwining lives coming to crisis following the death of the family matriarch, every character, with the exception of the young man on a "coming out" journey, is hysterical. His story is really one of realization of how he relates to family and friends, whilst his mother and aunts come to terms with how the old lady died and why she put Brother Boy into an institution 23 years earlier.
Brother Boy is a trip. His therapist is convinced she can turn this flaming transvestite, with a love for Tammy Wynette, straight.
It all comes to a head at the funeral and you will, as they say, roll in the aisles with laughter at the resolution of it all.
That is if it finds a general release and gets to your town.
As most other reviewers have said, this is a definite buy on DVD.
The film has already acheived cult status in Palm Springs, where the whole cast has visited on two occasions to attend screenings and meet their legions of fans in that city, most of whom have seen the flick four or five times and still plan to go back for more. I may go back again, just to see "Sordid Lives" once more.

Summary: Sordid Lives Gives Huge Laughs
Review: I have never laughed so hard at a movie...
EVER!

I saw this in the theatre 6 times. (I never go a second time for anything else.) It reminded me so much of growing up in Texas or any small southern town for that matter. The Characters are so incredible and the performances by these talented actors was worthy of major recgonition. (Especially the parts of Brother Boy and Sissy)

Review: A brilliant piece of humor exceeded only by brilliant acting. Seeing someone in your family in this movie is almost a quarantee. My Mother was absolutely fabulous. When was the last time Olivia Newton John sang you from a straight red neck to "no one is that gay" in 60 seconds ... and had you laughing all the way. Welcome home America ... if this movie doesn't make you laugh ... nothing will. Beth Grant is brilliant as always ... Don't pass this one up.

Summary: The funniest thing...
Review: This is one of those rare films that stands up to friends' recommendations - howlingly funny from start to finish. The cast of ballsy women with great - if not always intentional - oneliners, the Texan Patsy Stone and hair from hell all combine to wring the last laugh out of the audience. And the best of all - the classic coming out story where you are the last to know that everybody else does. Huge congratulations to all concerned. When oh when is the movie going to be released on video/DVD??? (I can't wait much longer!)

Summary: Best Campy Comedy I have seen in years.
Review: The actors did an amazing job in bringing this film to life, characters had such depth and wonderful one liners . I hope that this goes to dvd SOON, so I can enjoy it over and over again and share it with my friends and family.. It was wonderful to see this film on the big screen and in Kansas City, MO, just a few short 8 hour drive to the southern mecca that this film takes place. This is a MUST see film!

Summary: Quite possibly the funniest movie ever made :)!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I was rather unwillingly dragged to see this movie here in DC, not having a clue what it was about or if it would be any good. I found myself HOWLING with laughter and in tears more than a few times. SO much attention went into the little details of this film, like the 'trailer-trash' decor of the houses, tacky hairdo's, southern mannerisms and air conditioning that doesn't work (yet they never sweat.....hmmm!!!) This movie is so appealing I simply can't find fault in it at all! Hysterical scenes like Brotherboy being seduced by his therapist and the lady who pops open a beer during the funeral will have you in stitches. This has a "Southern Ab-Fab" quality to it that is just irresistable. If it comes anywhere near your area, GO! I cannot WAIT until this comes out on DVD!
