Summary: One of Disney's Greatest
Review: This movie is one of Disney's most perfectly realized fully animated features, right up there with "Lady and the Tramp" and "Toy Story 2". And I will go so far as to say that it is Disney's ALL-TIME FUNNIEST. The humor is slick, hip, and in the groove in a way that Disney has never before accomplished. From the magnificent side-splitting opening sequence right to the sly closing lines, the dialogue and characterizations are positively admirable. This is an amazing step away from Disney's usual style of humor (which some may find objectionable, but that's their loss).

Comparisons to "Iron Giant" are inevitable. I feel that "Lilo and Stitch" wins the humor category, whereas "Iron Giant" wins the heart-tugging category. "Iron Giant" paints an excellent satirical portrait of the sci-fi attitudes of the 50's, whereas "Lilo and Stich" pokes great fun at our current sci-fi psychology.

This movie is very timely, and possibly timeless. It is highly accessible yet intelligent, simple in construction yet sympathetic, compassionate, and blithely observant, with only the slightest acceptible trace of reverence.

As for the DVD, it's pretty weak on the special features, but at least they didn't bloat it into a 2-disc set, a practice which I greatly loathe.

Summary: Cute animation, but the theme is too old for younger childre
Review: I must disagree with other reviewers who say that this is good family entertainment. My grandmother bought this for my nephew for Easter, and I viewed it before I let him watch it. I'm glad that I did, because I sold it right after I watched it. This movie has a lot of violence that is not needed in a Disney movie. There is also a lot of mean stuff in it. It is about a recently orphaned little girl named Lilo who must be parented by her older sister. The movie starts off with Lilo being late for hula practice. The animation uses lots of pretty colors, so it's a piece of eye candy. It also has wonderful music. That, my friends, is why I gave the movie some credit and gave it three stars. But I must say that the plot is very disturbing. The movie, as I was saying, begins her being late to practice, and a girl says an unkind comment. Lilo and the little girl get into a punching fight, and Lilo bites the little girl. When Lilo later apologizes, the little girl says, "Apology not accepted!" That's terrible to put in the movie, because this teaches our children bad values.

On to stitch: Stitch is a monster created by these aliens who was created for the sole reason to destroy people. This is one of the reasons for the violence in the movie. When the aliens go to destroy the creature, Stitch escapes in a space ship and goes to Hawaii.

Back to Lilo: Lilo and her older sister do not have a good relationship. When her older sister comes home, Lilo has locked her out and nailed the door shut. There is a screaming scene and the social worker comes, threatening to take Lilo away. The older sister says that she would rather have a bunny that have Lilo around. This is also a horrible scene to put into a family movie. The social worker says that the older sister must find a new job or Lilo will be taken away from her.

The older sister brings Lilo to the pound to adopt a dog, and she picks out Stitch. Stitch is very violent. Stitch ruins every job opportunity that the older sister has.

I am not going to spoil the ending. But I cannot recommend this movie to anyone. It is filled with bad morals and violence. I suggest just buying the soundtrack, because it has great music.

I think that the theme would be great for older children, like seven and older, but I think that little kids will not understand the theme and become violent. I may be wrong, but that is just my opinion. Watch it before you show it to your kids- you may be fine with it. The characters are cute, although they don't look like real people. I think that Disney could have edited out some of the violence to make this a great family film, but they didn't.

Summary: Gives aliens a new prospective
Review: This movie is one of my favorite disney movies. I laugh myself silly everytime I watch it. Not only is it funny but also shows the importance of family. The story line is a realistic situation. It shows that sometimes outsiders have the best ideas and can become your best friend. Also has a great soundtrack.

Summary: Sleeper Hit, Very Unique, Creative, Realistic Disney Project
Review: First off, i'd like to dismiss all the people on here who worry about there kids, yes lilo does jump and hit a girl, but the girl disrespected her, there is a little bit of violence, but this is a PG film, it isn't G "Thank God" the violence is al taken with a grain of salt, I for one am glad it isn't PC , Disney everything is magic, because the real world is not magic, it is real, yes lilo could be taking from the Department of Child Services, without giving away to much she has lost her parents, her sister takes care of her, and no one understands her, she doesn't clique with anybody, she is a very talented, very intresting young girl, but no one cares, so yes, she's a little bitter, realistic, who hassn't dealt with that? there is a great story arc, about "The Ugly Duckling" This is without a doubt, a movie about finding yourself, about family, and about alienation(lol.)
pun intended. I took this as a joke at first, never rented it, never bought it, someone was right when they said dont judge a book by it's cover, a girlfriend lent it to me, by the way I am 24 Years old, I LOVE animation, and the colors, the atmosphere, the enviroments, the music, the hawaii setting, the realism, the family and personal messages, this movie is a GEM, this'll be rare someday, because alot of..i'd like to call RIDICOLOUS parents, think there kids should nevr see anything aside from smiles, lollipops, and talking horses..I for one HATED spirit..this film is for anyone, kids, adults, teens, young adults, I challange you to rent this movie, with an open mind, and get sucked into the story it is NOT a comedy, it is a CREATIVE DISNEY DRAMA, there is humor yes, but it's all very realistic, although there is no proof of aliens, there is also no proof of god, or ghosts, people fear that which they do not understand, and fear causes anger, anger causes hate, and hate leads to the dark side ;) hah, always wanted to use that..i'll be honest, i'm not a very large fan of regular films, I love animation, the way it shows emotion, and enviroments, it's amazing, Spirited away, is godlike, as is miyazaki, I guarantee he would love this film, CUDOS to Disney, for taking risks, the voice work is exceptional, and chihiro from spirited away, is the voice of LiLo, Truly, I cannot recomend this Masterpiece of Animation, Enough, This is one of my top favorite "FILMS" of all time, forget about it's animated..This is beautifull animation, Buy this movie, and enjoy it, and if you feel it is a lil, harsh, remember life is to, and your kids should learn that, that's the best lesson in life, reality.

Summary: Lilo and Stitch DVD
Review: One of my favorite movies. Having spent several years in Hawaii, they were able to capture that which makes Hawaii special. The songs written for the movie and the desire to keep the movie "true" to the Hawaiian way of life provides the great background.

The movie itself is destined to become a classic. I can watch it weekly and it is still enjoyable. The additional fact that they didn't try to make all the characters into "barbie dolls" is an added feature I find refreshing.

If you get the DVD, take the time to review the added features. Learn about the Islands (if you have never been there) and watch the children who perform "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" and the making of the movie. Quite entertaining, also.

Summary: People PUHLEEASE!
Review: This movie is about the reltionships of a family in chaos. Poor Lilo and Nani lost their parents and Nani is trying to be a mother to her little sister.
I'm reading folks here complain about how cruel they are to each other...just think people! Those two girls are stil grieving and trying to stay together. And for goodness sakes how many families with siblings do you know that don't have moments in their life when they fight, hurl insults etc....
So many people don't seem to understand the premise of this film is family, not happy, all sugar and smiles family, but real heart on your sleeve surving through tradgedy family.
Lilo is violent and fights with the other kids because of her pain and honestly the kids were picking on her first.
She and Stitch teach each other to get past violence and to become whole again, Lilo in getting past her and Nani's grief and Stitch in his learning how to love.
Get real folks, this film was BRILLIANT! I wish Disney would stop trying to make a quick buck with it cheap and stupid sequals and produce more films like this, that deal with the true heart and feeling of folks.
Plus I'm tired of the CGI vs. hand drawn animation debate, I love both, you can't get the beauty of Sleeping Beauty, Lilo & Stitch with CGI, but you can get the delightful Toy Story films and Monsters, Inc. so lets keep both OK?

Summary: Really original sci-fi stuff
Review: Everyone's seen the movie by now, I'm sure, so you all know it's the typical touching Disney flick. I really liked the aliens, and I'm sure the animators had fun doing this movie.
The best part of the DVD is the extra scenes shown in penciled animation. Very cool! This alone is worth the price of the DVD.

Summary: funny charming heart-warming
Review: Based on the trailers I was not looking forward to this film, but it won me over quickly, and I watched the whole thing with pleasure. Lilo is a lonely little girl living with her older sister who is broke, looking for work, and trying to be a mother to her troubled, sad little sister. Stitch is an illegally created alien who has escaped to Earth and been placed in a Hawaiian dog kennel. Upon meeting, the two are immediately inseparable, to hilarious effect. The writing is very funny throughout. There are good guys, bad guys who turn out to be good guys, really bad guys, and Stitch -- the character who changes the most ("Are you sure he's a dog!?") through the course of the film. And there's a fair amount of Elvis. What's not to love here?

DVD extras are excellent. There are well-done featurettes about the production (including storyboarding, voice sessions and music), animation, Hawaii, the hula, and Stitch's persistent attempts to get on the big screen; a trivia game; 3 music videos; 4 trailers; 3 deleted scenes; and 9 promotional trailers for other films.

The film can be heard in English, French or Spanish, and subtitles are available in English.

Very nice dvd package indeed, and a fine funny family film.

Summary: Can't Help Falling In Love
Review: Whoever buys this DVD to see the A*Teens Music Video "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" will be very disappointed. They don't know how to show the original version of the music video because they only showed bits and pieces of it and that's unfair to everybody who buys the DVD so they can see the music video. I saw the original music video and I thought I was really getting something by adding this to my collection of A*Teens music videos. But no! I get ripped off instead!

Summary: Feel Good Movie
Review: This was one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. It is not just a kiddie movie, this movie allows you to sit back and enjoy yourself for about an hour and a half. The story starts out with Stitch (code name 626) being exiled from his home planet and crash landing on the planet Earth. From there, it is a wild chase as two aliens try to track Stitch down so they can get their job back. The voices are done perfectly, Ving Rhames does a great job of his "Social Worker" character. Lilo plays her little girl role to the T, and Nadi (her sister) tries her hardest to stay one step ahead of the "stupidhead" social worker
I laughed a lot during this movie, it is one you can watch over and over again with or without kids. Pick this up and add to your collection, you will not be dissappointed
