Summary: Wears out it's welcome quickly
Review: It seemed that from the beginning this was a very labored project. Steve Martin tries his best to keep it moving along, but this is a slow moving, plodding story about 12 kids who hate their new neighborhood and want to go home. Tom (Steve Martin) gets his dream job as a big college football coach, but when his wife leaves for a book promotion tour, Steve has his hands full juggling teenage issues, child issues, and pressures at work. It's obvious that he has to choose one or the other, and right when the whole family explodes, ruining a chance for an Oprah Winfrey interview in their house, the final straw has fallen and they go home.This is not a movie I'd care to see again, frankly it gave me a headache. As a father, I understand all too well the pressures of career and family. To watch it on the screen is not my idea of escaping reality and being entertained.

Summary: Cheaper by the Dozen
Review: Kate (Bonnie Hunter) and Tom Baker (Steve Martin) have 12 kids (a dog and a frog lol). Tom is a coach and is hardly home to help out. When he gets his dream job to coach his alma mater's football team, the family have to move to the big city, and when Kate goes on tour to promote her book "Cheaper by the Dozen" in New York, Tom will have to take over for a couple weeks. That, however, will be a difficult challenge! This movie made me laugh, cry, and laugh again. It is, without a doubt, full of heart that the whole family would enjoy. Cheaper by the Dozen will be available on April 6, and i am definitely gonna buy it!!

Summary: Fun family movie!
Review: Pairing up Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt is sheer genius! Delightful performances by the entire talented cast. As expected, this movie presents plenty of funny scenes that blend large family dynamics with outrageous physical humor -- catching a frog at the dinner table, dangling from the chandelier -- but it works well here. Nice progression of events and good development of multiple conflicts arising from each family member struggling to live out his or her own life while keeping the family close -- a tough job in the midst of a major move and multiple life transitions. From the previews I had the sense that Cheaper By The Dozen would dish up little more than a steady stream of comical food misadventures, but I was delighted to be served plenty of food for thought, too. The parents struggle with juggling careers and family life. The kids struggle with adjusting to a new school and a whole new way of life. Everyone struggles to be heard! And through it all, the cement that holds this group together is genuine family love. Great movie -- fun for the whole family!

Summary: not a solid movie
Review: Steve Martin was good as usual, but slightly out of place although he worked well with Bonnie Hunt. The whole movie was slightly out of control, so it was funny, but left you with an uneasy, unsatisfied feeling. Tom Welling seemed to switch characters every time you saw him, but he was nevertheless charming and very realistic. Hilary Duff stood out as being the bad actress she is because she was too old to get lost in the parade of under 12ers that made up most of the family, and because she seemed very very awkward the whole time. For a simple smile and forget it movie, this is the one for you, but as a whole, 3 stars was very generous.

Review: I can't believe some people think that this movie wasn't good. It's about time some movies started talking about how important families are. We need more movies that are wholesome and fun. This movie is just what it is all about. I praise people who decide to make movies that are decent enough for the whole family to watch together.

Summary: A very funny Movie
Review: This film is an achievement for Steve Martin. He acts very well as a college football coach who finally gets to his goal, a job at a big name university. At the same time his wife has the opportunity of a lifetime as well. Now they have to balance a family of 12 with all of this. She travels, he is not at home, there is family crisis after crisis and things become more insane. Some of the scenes are touching, there is a sense in the movie that dad, although wrapped up in his career, really is torn by what his family needs and what time he has to give. There are some things that miss here, otherwise I would have rated it a 5. They agree to work on both of their careers and when his wife finally gets upset with things not working out they are at each others throat. The movie did not develop that well, although you can see why they would be really mad at each other. There is chaos, it is a little surreal to make the point, yet, in reality you would think the older siblings would be more helpful around the house with such a large family. The twins, the younger ones, are just hilarious. Remember to watch the outtakes at the end, they are great. The movie has a lot of irony in it, life in the country verses life in the city. Committed parents who get overcommitted. The children who are torn between the life they had and their new environment. This movie is fun, and is viewable by a wide audience.

Summary: Bad Brady Bunch redux
Review: In fact, Piper Perabo as eldest daughter Nora gives off a complete Marcia Brady vibe in looks, voice and mannerisms!!! The original story (based on a real-life memoir) had heart. Here, all the heart is displayed by Bonnie Hunt's acting -- I felt really bad in the beginning when it was revealed her only sister had died and she wished she had more siblings so she would not be lonely. It is a poorly constructed movie. Steve Martin gets his dream job of coaching his college football team and thus moves the entire family to Chicago. The kids are on edge and infuriated about this, having to start new schools and lives (eldest daughter Nora has already left the nest to live with her boyfriend Hank "the model slash actor".) Shortly after the move, Kate's book "Cheaper By the Dozen" gets published and she has the chance to go on a book tour. Since dreaming big is what brought her and Tom together in the first place, he can hardly stand in her way. He claims he can handle the 11 kids at home. Of course he can't! There are a lot of scenes where food, liquids, and body fluids are splashed about, lots of screaming, etc. There are also tons of relationships that go unexplored -- Henry idolizes his big brother Charlie, fraternal twins Kim and Jessica are very intelligent to the point of correcting their teacher, shallow Lorraine is antagonistic towards tomboy Sarah, Nora yells at the younger children that she finally has a life of her own. The only thing really explored is young Mark feeling like he doesn't fit in and running away a la Bobby Brady is one episode. It's good for kids or if you are on a long flight (which is when I watched it) but otherwise, rent the original. You'll be glad you did.

Review: If you have children from 6 to 10, you're kids gonna love it. It's a wonderful family movie, you won't regret it to have it once it came out. My kids love it, so do i.
It's touching, hillarious and amazingly cool.
