Summary: Andy,Barney,Opie, Aunt Bee ,Gomer and Otus, need we say more?
Review: Fabulous. The three episodes highlighted in this DVD video bring out the best in everyone.

The cast and crew have never been better with Barney and Andy really coming together on "High Noon in Mayberry" with Gomer and Otus giving stellar performances.

Aunt Bee is terrific in the "Medicine Man" episode and Opie has never been any better in "Dogs,Dogs,Dogs" especially with his eleven new found friends.

Where is the old theme music? Who cares? The stories in this DVD video are classic. A must have for any fan of this series. DVD video at its best.

Hopefully volume two of this fine program will be out on DVD video shortly.

Summary: Duped!
Review: First of all, I am ticked off at all the other reviews. You don't buy a DVD to just hear the theme song. You buy it for it's content (the show itself). They didn't include the original theme because the creator of it wanted too much royalties to use it on the DVD. Anyway, the DVD contained 3 episodes, "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs (#93, where eleven stray dogs end up in the courthouse)," "High Noon in Mayberry (#80, where an ex-con comes to settle something with Andy)," and "Aunt Bee's Medicine Man (#87, where Aunt Bee gets drunk from 'medicine')." The bonus features are only interactive menus (on all DVDs) and scene access (also on all DVDs). But like I said before, you buy it for the show and nothing else. The running time is 75 mins, and it is formatted for worldwide use. The picture was great, and the Dolby 5.1 surround sound was awesome. Highly recommended....

Summary: Best of Andy Griffith? I've seen better episodes than these!
Review: First of all, there are supposedly 16 episodes in the public domain of "The Andy Griffith Show". I don't know how they became so, or whether it is possible to release more, but this collection is certainly not the best of the Andy Griffith Show. It seems like they randomly chose some of those public domain episodes, and put them on a DVD. Now, a true DVD of the "Best of the Andy Griffith Show" would be all of the Ernest T. Bass episodes, Barney's First Car, The Big House and a few others worthy of being 'the best'. This is just a cheap mix of rather un-funny episodes being called 'best' to get more sales.

Summary: Love Andy Griffith...But
Review: I absolutely loved going back and watching some of the best of Sheriff Taylor's episodes! Great fun and a reminder of why those early TV shows were so entertaining...good, clean, pure fun! My only disappointment...the original TV show's theme tune at the opening and closing was not used on this DVD. BIG let down! Please bring it back for future DVDs of other Mayberry greats. Thanks!

Summary: The music is not the original Andy Griffith song???
Review: I love Andy Griffith but was very disapointed that they did not play the original Andy Griffith song before the episode began. Otherwise it was fine.

Summary: Love Andy Griffith...But
Review: I love the Andy Griffith Show, but this DVD was a big dissappointment. "Best of" not even close, contains only 3 (mediocre) episodes. And doesn't even include the original theme or credit music. "Classic Favorites" is much better, 6 episodes.

Review: I ordered BOTH the Andy Griffith marathon AND The Best of the Andy Griffith Show. Didn't you say, "customers also buy...."
All 3 shows (yes, only 3) are already on the marathon package!
Obviously, not enough product information is given....
This DVD will be sent back.... Do I even want to consider ordering more of these DVD's? How many episodes were there anyway? OK, let me take a stab in the dark here......more than 15 maybe?????
