Summary: A must have for classic move buffs!
Review: I am a big fan of Doris Day, and this is one of her best. Her pairing with Rock Hudson is pure chemistry - one of both comedy and romance. I never tire of this movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: best romantic comedy ever!
Review: Pillow Talk is my favorite movie of all time! There's not one bad scene, it's cleverly written and it has held up with time. It's not dated at all! I love Doris Day's wardrobe! I would wear it today. You might as well as buy the movie because you'll watch it over and over! I watch it whenever I feel down and it always picks me up!

Summary: A Great Doris Day Sex-Comedy!
Review: Doris Day stars as Jan Morrow and Rock Hudson as Brad Allen in their first screen pairing-the clasic PILLOW TALK. Thelma Ritter is a delight as the sloshed Alma, and the supporting cast is first rate.

This is the first video I ordered from Amazon.com,and,living in Australia,I was most impressed by the quick mail service-only 2 and a half weeks from the day I posted the money order!

Thanks,Amazon.com!I will be ordering many more movies from you!

Summary: One of my Absolute Favorites!
Review: This movie is so adorable! Although the plot line is a little predictable, everything leading up to the end is hilarious! What cracks me up the most is when Jan (Doris Day) and "Rex"/Brad Allen (Rock Hudson) first meet and you can hear what they are thinking about each other. Rock Hudson plays Brad Allen, the other half of Jan Morrow's (Doris Day) party line. When he matches a name with a figure, Brad Allen passes himself off as cowboy from Texas visiting New York. Jan thinks: "It's so nice to meet a man you feel you can trust." That kills me! I also like Alma, Jan's maid who gets drunk EVERY night and provides a great source of entertainment. Rent this movie, trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Summary: Doris Day & Rock Hudson Are Box-Office Dynamite!
Review: There is a good reason why "Pillow Talk" was the biggest grossing film of 1960: It's a comedy masterpiece! -- Jan Morrow (Day) has a hard time with Brad Allen (Hudson) whom she's never met, but she knows his constant chatting on their party-line telephone is outrageous! Brad meets Jan by chance, but conceals his identity, determined to have her fall in love with him. -- Tony Randall contributes many laughs, and Thelma Ritter as Alma, the perpetually 'tipsy' maid is at her best. -- I'm sure anyone reading this review has already seen this film, but if not, treat yourself to the wide screen version or DVD! Highly recommended.

Summary: Deanne - Australia
Review: I just loved this movie! This is a really good-feel light-hearted comedy that you will never regret purchasing. It is great to view such a classic that is truly entertaining and funny. What a great combination of leading stars .. the chemistry, the hilarity of hindsight. This is my all time favourite Doris Day movie.

Summary: One of the Best Romantic Comedies
Review: Doris Day and Rock Hudson simply sparkle. They never found better partners than each other. The script is witty and clever. The two stars are supported by Thelma Ritter and Tony Randall. Doris Day's gowns are beautiful, and the art direction is specatcular. This movie gets better each passing year.

Summary: Contrived, barely humorous comedy.
Review: This is definitely light fare; While harmless, it is a barely humorous comedy, providing an interesting window into late 50's values changing to those of the 60's. What do I mean by contrived? The obstetrician's belief in the possibility of male pregnancy is one; Hudson hiding the musical score - where? - under her coat instead of just taking it with him outside, is another. This is silly rather than farcical. Is it clean fun? Sure. But that hardly makes it a 5-star film. To rank this with THE SEVEN SAMURAI, or THE THIRD MAN is repulsive. I'd rate it a 2.5, and the DVD (with its minimal extras) a 3.

Summary: great comedy team
Review: this is a great movie. the day-hudson team was probably the most overlooked but probably one of the best hollywood ever produced. this is a bright, glossy movie and doris day is probably one our greatest light comedians.. decades have past but this is still as fresh as when it came out in 1959... a must have for your collection..

Summary: Doris Day and Rock Hudson - Sheer Magic
Review: In 1959, Doris Day and Rock Hudson were the top box office draws in films and won many accolades for this picture. The reviews were unanimously positive from the critics and it was a huge hit around the world.

Doris Day has never looked better. She was dressed to the nines by Jean Louis, wore smart hair styles and gave an Oscar nominated performance as Best Actress. Rock Hudson was surprisingly effective as Brad Allen, her rival partyline user.

The plot is cat and mouse and set the tone for the other Day/Hudson films featuring mistaken identity and deceit. As usual, the supporting plays are sterling. Tony Randall deserved a best supporting actor nod, but didn't get one. He was superb. I loved the great Thelma Ritter (nominated Best Supporting Actress) as Day's tipsy maid, Alma, and Nick Adams was appropriately over-sexed as Tony the Harvard man who tries to seduce Miss Day. Lee Patrick, as Tony's mother, was the same as she was in all of her films, zanny, and Julia Meade was fun as one of Hudson's "regulars".

The picture is bright, witty and beautifully produced. The New York locale lends a special flavor to the proceedings and Frank DeVol's musical score is right on the money.
