Summary: "Singin' in the Rain" brightens my day!
Review: This is absolutely the best movie musical!Nothing compares to it. Gene Kelly just makes you smile in the title song, and Donald O'Conner makes you, well, laugh in "Make Em' Laugh". But for anyone who loves tap dancing, this movie contains some of the best hoofing numbers, such as "Good Mornin'" and "Moses Supposes". If you've never seen this movie, it's a must, because just watching a grown man sing and splash around in puddles is enough to cheer anyone up after the worst of days!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Just Delicious!
Review: I can't help smiling like a fool every time I watch this movie. The writing is sharp enough to carry the movie itself and the musical numbers are outstanding. I must confess, I usually fast forward through musical numbers after I've seen them once or twice, but would never consider it in this movie. Gene Kelly lights up the screen and Donald O'Conor is absolutely hilarious. Debbie Reynolds is fresh and perky as ever and there is not a dull moment throughout. See it in revival if you can, it's absolutely stupendous on the big screen.

Summary: Singin' in the Rain was not filmed in a "widescreen" ratio
Review: "Singin' in the Rain" was filmed in the Academy ratio of 1.37 to 1 (which was the standard for film until 1954). It is presented on this DVD in the Full Screen ratio of 1.33 to 1 (the ratio of your TV). The below "reader from The Netherlands" seems to believe that there was a "widescreen" version of the film (1:85 to 1, 2:35 to 1 , etc.), but he/she is wrong. Also, the DVD has the trailer, digital audio, and other features listed above. This DVD is a great transfer of a movie masterpiece.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: What! No widescreen! What a rip-off!
Review: Beware of this DVD: there are NO trailers, NO director's commentary, NO widescreen, NO behind the scenes footage AND NO other extra's whatsoever! Shouldn't you think the best film of all times would deserve better than that on DVD? Makers, be ashamed of yourselves.

Summary: The best movie musical I've ever seen.
Review: There aren't many movies I'll watch more than once, but this is an exception. Seems like every year I have to get my "Singin' in the Rain" fix. Kelly is great, but for me, Donald O'Connor steals the show, expecially in his "Make'Em Laugh" routine, which always has me in stitches. The title number is unforgettable, and "Good Morning" has a way of sticking in your subconcience. Tough to beat.

Summary: One of the best - of all time
Review: When I say this film, I almost died laughing. The talking lessons, the first "talkie"; they were the most hilarious moments in film I have ever encountered. 'Nuff said.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definitely one of my favourite musicals
Review: I love this marvellously entertaining piece of film. It is not hilarious, but funny and charming. And the songs are incredible. ALL of them.

Summary: dvd "singin" reinvents a classic
Review: The new dvd release has been fully remixed and remastered from available audio tapes into full 5.1 stereo. The film has never looked nor sounded like this. All the classic songs and pictures come to life giving the viewer a totally new experience. You haven't really seen this classic until you have seen the dvd version. It makes the last reissued VHS version unwatchable by comparison in both picture and sound quality,

Summary: AN AMERICAN CLASSIC!
Review: Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, Jean Hagen, and Cyd Charrise team up to make this one of the best films of all time. The joy, humor, and satirical nature of the whole piece flow from your television, right into your soul. The songs, including the hysterical "Make Em Laugh," the touching "You Were Meant for Me," the tuneful "Good Morning," and the classic "Siging in the Rain," are all enchanting. The chemistry between stars is unmissable, the dancing strong, the costumes elegant, and the thrilling (though slightly overlong) "Broadway Ballet" is one of the most thrilling fifteen minutes in musical history. Don't delay, rent this one today. You won't regret it.

Summary: If Ever A Movie Could Receive 10 Stars This Would Be It!!
Review: ********** I want anyone who reads this to know that Gene Kelly has never performed better. He is comical, witty, romantic, caring...and an awesome dancer in this musical. He has the patience of a saint when it comes to his blonde partner who seems to do nothing but mess up everything. I would watch "Singing in the Rain" before I would watch "An Officer and a Gentleman". Please watch this movie if none other and you too will be an avid Gene Kelly fan.
