Summary: I brought this with me
Review: When I learned I was about to be sent to S. Korea for a year of overseas duty, I knew my entertainment options would be few. And as I was allowed a limited amount of personal items I had to judiciously choose what to bring. "Auntie Mame" was a definite 'to take' item. No matter how many times I see this movie, I am always thrilled to watch it again. It makes me laugh, lightens my mood, and evokes a bit of the drama queen, or should I say a bit of "Lady Iris" in me. It's a masterpiece.

Review: IN A STAGE PRODUCTION I PLAYED 5 ROLES. THIS MOVIE ONLY HAD 1 OF MY PARTS (EMORY) BUT HE HAD LESS LINES TO SANITIZE THE MOVIE. I STILL LIKE , BEING INCREDIBLY TRUE TO THE PLAY. I GOT THIS BECAUSE OUR DIRECTOR HASN'T MADE A MOVIE OF IT YET. I THINK IT IS ALMOST AS GOOD.HOWEVER THE BEST VERSION IS THE BOOK. IT ALSO HAS A SEQUAL,AROUND THE WORLD WITH AUNTIE MAME. BOTH ARE BY PATRICK DENNIS. I WARN YOU IF YOU LIKE AUNTIE MAME DO NOT GET THE MOVIE MAME, BUT GET THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK...GET IT EVEN IF YOUVE ONLY SEEN THE MUSICAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: O, what a time we shall have, what wonders we will see...
Review: If, in life you watch one film it has to be Aubtie Mame!

I saw it first in 1998, christmas. I was transfixed. The fantasy of the film sets and the transformation of Mame's home throughout the movie...out of this world. The abundance of perfectly sculpted characters. The movie appeals to me because it has strong morals in it and I have my best friend Raj and my late Aunt as Mame's. You see, it is all about life and what we want to make out of it, a message my mum, late aunt and Raj have drummed into me with much of the hyperactive technicloured drama, language and rainbows of Mame. I defy anyone to not feel GREAT about life, after seeing Mame.
I recently bought Auntie Mame for Raj for his present, he loves it and has watched it 38 times. I have watched it over 189 times. I have studied it. It is most skilful. I am unable to choose a 'best scene' or 'line', i'll try : scene : when Mame is introduced to Mr. O'Banyon, the dignified saunter across the room to him, and the line "Agnes...AAAAAgggnes" when Mame realises Agnes can go to the party with Mr. O'Banyon. I am a therapist and Auntie Mame is the remedy to ALL my client's worries. And guess what...IT WORKS WONDERS, celebrities and everyday folk are on my caseload the world over.

Oftentimes, when I watch it, I drip with joy and perspire happiness, for i dribble the lines of the film and forget that I am even watching TV, as I believe I am in the film and that it is real life. But it IS real life, I have it everyday.
I love this film so much if Rosalind Russel weere alive today I would visit her to ask her what she felt of the film. we can see though that she and everyone in it had the time of thier lives. WOW !!!

Summary: They don't make them like they use to.
Review: From a technical standpoint, the fade-outs are brilliant and extremely beautiful. They give the viewer the feel of a real stage production. The color is amazing...like vibrant jewels. A must see!

Summary: Auntie Mame (Rosalind Russell)
Review: By far my favorite movie of all time. The first time I saw it, it was a rainy afternoon, and I was expecting another "boring old black and white" movie, but within 3 minutes I was hooked - laughing, and crying throughout the entire film. An oldie but goodie for all ages, about an eccentric, sassy, bohemian aunt who finds herself in playing the role of guardian to her dead brother's son, Patrick. Hilarious and touching, I cannot imagine anybody not liking this film. ... In Mame's memorable words, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death .... LIVE!"

Summary: A CLASSIC!
Review: I always look at this film around Christmas time. It never lets me down for getting me into the holiday mood. One of the greatest comedies ever made. From Agnes Gooche's "How Bleak Was My Puberty", to the ever up-beat Rosalind Russell"s Auntie Mame, the laughs are always there. The fox hunt is a side splitter. I'm sure everyone who is anyone will benefit from seeing this film. Especially around the holidays. ciao yaaah69

Review: What can I say about Auntie Mame that hasn't already been said?
A wonderful story from the novel by Patrick Dennis! A great cast! And a scipt that you can never get enough of! Truly one of those movies that you can watch over and over and always enjoy!

Rosalind Russell was marvelous as the title role! She shined like the true star that she was!! She was more lovely and charming than any other that I have seen!! However, to say any more about her and her in this movie, I would have to write a million words! I know that some people feel that this movie feels too long, but if you keep your eye on our Roz the whole time, the movie won't feel long enough.

The supporting cast was perfect. Forrest Tucker, Coral Brown, little Jan Handzlik, Fred Clark, Lee Patrick, Willard Waterman and countless others were wonderful and all fit their parts beautifully!

Not forgetting those behind the camera:(To name a few) Brilliant directing by Mortan DaCosta, and a smashing screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Lovely costumes and sets, radiant color, and to top it off with an unforgettable musical score comosed by Bronislaw Kaper!

My point being that Auntie Mame is, by far, one of the best movies ever made! And when you watch it, you remember what life is really all about...
