Summary: kooky and loaded with pure, innocent fun!
Review: This is an early version of Forest Gump. The craziest things happen to Mame. Her story takes her from wealthy to broke, to wealthy again. It has action and adventure and drama and comedy.. what more can you ask for??

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This movie has everything!!!
Review: I am 20 years old, and I love this movie. It has style, comedy, and drama. Ms. Russel was absolutely amazing, and after seeing this movie about 100 times, I wish I had an Auntie Mame. This is a movie for all ages and is a classic. I highly recommend this movie to all!!!

Summary: Really Good!
Review: My Aunt is very much like Auntie Mame and people always call her that so when she called and told me it was on AMC(the American Movie Channel)I wacthed it. I fell in love with it. It was truly FANTASTIC!

Summary: Camp and Fashion at it's finest!
Review: This is one of my fav older movies ever. Rosalind plays the part to a perfect T. The inside jokes and sarcastic side glances are a part of the wonderful tongue-in-cheek movie. But most of all the FASHION!! Every single dress worn by Mame is wonderful and I do mean every single one!!

Summary: Rosalind Russell at her outrageous best.
Review: While it is true that this movie was remade with Lucille Ball in the starring role, even Lucy's considerable comedic talents couldn't overcome Rosalind Russell's fairly defining that to which every subsequent Auntie Mame should aspire when reprising this role. Witty and heart-warming without being treacly. It gives lessons without being preachy. Every parent-to-be, every child who feels different, and every aspiring iconoclast (or drag queen, for that matter) should watch this movie for an entertaining (if simple) lesson on living one's life in the pursuit of individuality rather than conformity for its own sake.

Summary: This movie has "braces on its brains"
Review: This movie was shocking. I can't imajine how anyone can like it.Lucille Balls version was MUCH better. This film is badly directed and badly produced. Its also very uncreative. Its a BOMB.Rosalind Russel is NOT a very good actress.

Summary: One of the greatest comedies of all time!!!!
Review: I have watched "Auntie Mame" approximately 50 times. Many of you will think "Wow, get a life!" but watching this film fills me with such happiness that I can't help but return to it, time and time again. Rosalind Russell was born to play the charming, intellegent and exciting Mame Dennis and the supporting cast could hardly be improved upon. The late Peggy Cass' Agnes Gooch is a triumph. What an incredible combination of slapstick humor and intellegent wit and reparte make up this film. Mame is, I'm sure, everyone's dream relative. Her take on life is so complete and utterly captivating that after watching this film one feels that the whole world is ones for the taking. Her lack of pretense, ignorance and prejudice is a refreshing and disarming change from a world so often plagued by all the aforementioned. If you've never seen this film, please do yourself a huge favor and watch it. You, like I and others I know, will immediately fall under it's spell and will, no doubt, find yourself exclaiming "Live, Live, Live! Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death." Without question, one of the greatest lines in all of motion picture history. The best thing about it, is that it's a true a statement as they come.

Summary: There's only one Auntie Mame...
Review: There's only one Auntie Mame and Rosalind Russell is it! Add to Russell's brilliant performace a flawless cast (especially Coral Brown as Vera), superb writing, sumptuous sets and costumes, and terrific direction, and you come up with a film that will be forever timeless. Movies don't get any better than this.

Summary: Lucille Balls version was much better....
Review: I found the movie Auntie Mame a huge dissapointment. If you enjoyed Auntie Mame I highly suggest that you see MAME which is a musical version of Auntie MAME and Stars Lucille Ball.MAME is one hundred million times better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Life is a banquet...and so is this movie!
Review: I can't put into words how much I love this movie. The writing crackles with zingers as we watch the triumphs of Mame, the wacky socialite as she conquers all odds. Like her nephew Patrick, you'll adore her, and keep coming back for more. This movie has truly stood the test of time, and only gets funnier with repeated viewings.
