Summary: This Man Like Sex and the City
Review: Sex and the City rules from a male perspective. I started watching Sex and the City with my mother when it first aired and have not be disappointed by the show. This review is based on the whole six series of SATC. All the main characters are honest, funny, and shares a similar desire. Carrie's character is a sex columnist for a newspaper. Carrie uses her own personal experiences as well as her girlfriends experiences to compose a column about men, women, sex, and relationships. Samantha is extremely sexually active women who works in Public Relations. Miranda is smart, self assured lawyer who is cynical which leaving her to fake her emotions about relationships. Charlotte is prim and proper Park Avenue women who goals are to get married and have a family.

The reason why I like SATC is because it give a comedic version on sex and relationships. No matter what happens to your own social life, you can watch SATC and share the same humorous episode of what Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte did, and learn to laugh a upon at your own situations. These six series will be treasured and revisited by me.

Summary: "Sex and the City"
Review: This has got to be one of the best shows featuring strong, beautiful, independent, successful, and brilliant women ever! Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Catrall), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) make up the cast of "Sex and the City". These four single women are queens of the jungle, the panthers that prowl the night seeking their mates. These are the kind of women that every woman wants to be. They have everything and more, and sometimes less. They are human, daring, sweet, and hilarious. This show points out not only relationships' questions and answers but also life's questions and answers. Everything you need and want in entertainment, "Sex and the City" delivers them all with gusto, generosity, and boldness. If you don't have HBO, subscribe to it just to get this show or if you don't have cable, buy the complete first season boxed set and the coming-soon complete second season boxed set. Also, don't forget to check out the book by Candace Bushnell and the soundtrack. "Sex and the City", gotta love that show!

Summary: Excellent Series!
Review: I became a fan of "Sex and the city" during its 4th and 5th seasons, so I was always curious about the earlier episodes. Having now seen all 12 episodes of the first season, I have to say that I have become an even bigger fan. While the later episodes became more plot-driven, with story arcs focusing on each of the 4 girls' love affairs, most of the episodes in the first season were pretty self-contained. They are also interesting because in many of them, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) breaks the 4th wall by addressing the audience directly. Also, there are many instances when other characters are "interviewed" by the camera about the specific topic of the particular episode, which I find rather amusing. These moments add to the offbeat charm of the series. In these first 12 episodes, a wide array of topics are discussed, many of which, I believe, are directly taken from Candace Bushnell's novel (on which the series is based). Episodes like "Models and Mortals" (about men who only date models), "Secret sex" and "The turtle and the hare" are truly hilarious, and wonderful little vignettes of Manhattan social life in the late 1990s. If you are a "Sex and the city" fan, you must check out the first season! Highly Recommended!

Summary: Sex and the city fan for life
Review: I just love this show. I saw part of season 1, so it was fun to be able to get the DVD and watch the whole season. It took me two days, but it was worth it. My favorite episode is the one where Carrie farts in front of big. I kept rewinding that scene because it was so funny. The show was well cast. Samantha gave new meaning to sexual liberation. If you never saw the show, go on and treat yourself to the DVD. You will find yourself watching the show every now and again with your girlfriends.

Summary: Addictive Fluff
Review: To know the title of "Sex and the City" is to know its premise: four female friends who live in New York and talk about sex throughout each episode. Being a show about sex (and being on HBO), it is extremely ribald and frequently graphic. I'm often pretty appalled at Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte's antics, and sometimes disgusted. Here are four beautiful, designer-clothes-bedecked women with all the time in the world to eat in fancy NYC restaurants and talk about the men they sleep with. Where's the reality in that? Where's the morality? Well, the show advertises itself as being about sex; it doesn't pretend to be anything else. It's unnecessary to show Miranda in court or Samantha in an office. That's not what we want to know about these women. As far as the second question goes, all I can say is, if you want morality, don't watch TV. I passionately love "The Sopranos" and don't feel a bit guilty watching it, and it's certainly not more moral than "Sex". So I've given up telling myself not to watch it. It's really quite addicting. The characters are so vivid, the acting so spot-on, and the humor so sharp that it's hard not to like the show. Miranda and Samantha are particular favorites of mine. They're silly, neurotic, childish, and absolutely lovable. I may not care too much for the premise, but I could watch those two mix cement and enjoy myself. The critics are right; this show has a special something.

Summary: Sex and the City Rules!
Review: From the creative mind of producer Darren Star (television's "Melrose Place")comes this excellent, witty, and energetic series of four girlfriends living in New York City and exploring the topic that was once exclusively for men when it came to conversation, "sex." Based on the bestselling book by Candace Bushnell, "Sex and the City" revolves around the lives of four young, urban professional in search of the perfect relationship and orgasm.

Sarah Jessica Parker ("Honeymoon in Vegas" ; "LA Story") plays Carrie Bradshaw, a weekly columnist for a local paper, who writes a column regarding sex and relationships in the big city. Kim Catrall ("Masquerade"; "Mannequin") is Samantha, a big time publicist. Cynthia Nixon ("The Out-of-Towners"-1999 version) plays Miranda, a lawyer and Kristin Davis Plays Charlotte, an art gallery curator who is a bit prudish when it comes to sex.

When these four Manhattanites get together, they do cause a commotion in whatever they do, and on this two-disc set, HBO Video treats viewers with the first twelve episodes of the popular new series where anything (and mostly everything) goes.

The episodes which explore such topics as monogamy, threesomes, baby showers, and other topics that normal to the everyday denizen of a large metropolitan mecca such as New York contain the most wittiest scripts and scenarios that I have ever seen on television. Due to the lack of network censors, "Sex and the City" popularity thrives on its' ability to use profanity, sex, nudity, and other adult themes that are taboo on broadcast stations.

The show also contains other delightful character that win will you over as a new fan. Chris Noth (television's "Law & Order") is always excellent in whatever role he takes, and as Carrie's love interest , "Mr. Big", he will swoon you with his charm and elegance. And what would the average heterosexual girl living in the big city be without her gay best friend? In Carrie's case, her best gay friend, Stanford, is her very own Rupert Everett. His tales of dating in the gay scene, in addition to his flamboyance will cause you to both have pity and amusement for this funny sidekick.

While this show will mainly appeal to urban women and gay men, it should be viewed and enjoyed by all. With all the recent network rip-offs airing on television already (e.g. UPN's "Girlfriends"), I can guarantee it would be worth your time and money to purchase this series and enjoy what can be called the most original television comedy in recent years at home.

The DVD edition contains a great motion main menu powered by a flavorful salsa beat, and some of the special features on the set include DVD-Rom web links to related sites, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, episode previews, language selection (English and Spanish tracks), and subtitles (English and French subtitles).

I am anxiously awaiting the second season to be released on DVD. I have e-mailed HBO Video, but they haven't replied to my e-mail yet, but if anyone from the company is reading this, please be aware that fans are hungrily awaiting for more seasons to be released on this great format!

Summary: Do we have to subscribe to cable to enjoy "Sex in the City?"
Review: Are we doomed to have to order cable to see "Sex in the City"? Is it possible to avoid the agonizing and empty wait for the cable guy to install an overpriced service that still pads programming with tons of commercials? Are the talk and all the awards lavished on the cable show all hype and glitz? I decided to order the complete collection of the first season of "Sex in the City" and check it out.

It is hilarious, surprising, urbane and enlightening. I was expecting fruit for thought and got a delicious and earthy light meal with lots of chocolate and sparkling wine for desert. It is a fun and a real observation of the single world that is out there and how it views the current sexual mores, the foibles of the urban psychological landscape, and the married world. The writing and performances are fresh and explore the Manhattan of Candace Bushnell's columns with honesty, charm, and stylish shoes. Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Kim Cattrall (Samantha), Kristin Davis (Charlotte), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) are a spicy ensemble that are (Middle English word for procreation) funny. The cable guy can hook me up later. The memory of the first episode's scene where "Big" delicious responds to Carrie's question, "Have you ever been in love before?", will sustain me until I can see the next episodes.

My next review for Amazon.com will be, "How long can a viewer wait for a successful online store to stock the second and following seasons of "Sex in the City?"

The VHS format provided enjoyable viewing.

Summary: Drivel
Review: This is like painting with water colors- its empty-headed drone noise for stupid girls who wanna pretend that they are some super sophisticated Manhattanite, which in itself is a pretence- these manhattan girls werent even born in NYC- they come from Alabama with a banjo on their knees to make it big in the big apple- they are tourists, gold-diggers, who pretend that they are better than everyone else in order to cover up the fact that they are dumb stupid losers on a rich-man hunt. Lotsa luck, babes!

Summary: The best show ever!!!
Review: If you haven't seen Sex and the City by now, then you have missed out on the best sex of your life. This show is just FABULOUS! The show follows 4 single women living in New York City. They each experience the ups and downs of dating and maintaining successful careers. Above all else, this show is about the close bond of friendship these women share. They are always there for each other despite any disagrements they have. While it reflects a somewhat idealisitc life (there is no apartment in NYC with a closet as big as Carrie's), you can still enjoy the stories week after week.

I truly love this show. I never get tires of watching these episodes over and over. Unlike other shows, this show just kept getting better and better, season after season. I talk about it so much at work that I even got my boss to watch seaons 1,2,and 3. She is now hooked. Get all of the seasons, invite your best friends over, make some cosmos, and enjoy the night. You won't regret it.
