Summary: Beautiful Thing opens our hearts
Review: When I saw this movie, I didn't quite understand how I was supposed to feel. It was the most realistic film about gay love I'd ever seen. It made me feel more sure of myself, and who I was. My greatest gratitude to Hettie MacDonald for showing the world that gay love isn't dirty, or anything to be ashamed of! Thank You.

Summary: Anyone fallen in love?
Review: Beautiful Thing is a sensitive and honest, if not dreamy, love story that allows the actors full range of human emotion, while drawing the audience into the hearts of the characters, letting us see their needs, and thus our own needs, while also letting us laugh on the road towards self-realization. A splendid film that shouldn't be missed by anyone.

Summary: The Romeo + Juliet for the gay youth of today.
Review: The story of two teenagers who find love in the strangest of circumstances. How can anyone resist? Set in Thamesmead, London, you experience the cultural diversity of the capital itself and a realistic view of homosexuality in school, home and loads of other places. More importantly you get to see something come from nothing - and what a Beautiful Thing it is.

Summary: Heartwarming, touching and realistic.
Review: This is by far the best coming out movie that I have seen. It is the most realistic rendition of the struggle that gay teens face and the lack of support that they sometimes experience. I was deeply touched by the portrayol of the characters by the actors. They really portrayed the personas of each character extremely well and were bealievable in their rendeitions. I would definietly recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a heartwarming movie that I have ever seen. This movie shows how some families cope with family members "coming out". Gave me some ideas as to how to deal with this touchy issue.

Review: What makes it great is that it shows that there is so much more to being gay than the typical Scene.... The working class perspective tmakes this a unique treat.

Summary: A Great Film!
Review: When I first saw this movie, I was very worried that something terrible was going to happen... I cared about the characters so much. Beautiful Thing is a grand fairy tale about true love, and a wonderful film to watch when you're feeling depressed and hopeless. Highly recommended!

Summary: Useful Tool in Expressing the Experience of Growing Up Gay
Review: I ordered this movie in the hope that it wouldn't be just another movie that completely misunderstands what it is like to be growing up gay in the 1990's. Well, at the end of this movie all I wanted to do was watch it again. I wanted to tell the whole world about this movie. Different people receive different messages from movies with social impact, but no one could watch this movie and not have an uderstanding what life is like for us. I watched this movie and realized that not everyone out there hates gays. I understood that maybe I wasn't the only one in the world who was young and had been dealing with this issue. Since the movie is from England, I also realized this is happening all over the world. It is a great reassurance to other gay youth that we are normal and that there is someone out there in the world for all of us. Although we are gay, we can still find love and happiness. These are just the feelings I felt after watching the movie. I even showed this to my family to help them understand that even though I am gay, I am still a person and in need of love. I wish we could make the world watch this video, maybe open some closed eyes to our world. I recommend this video to everyone who is alive in the world today, because gay people are out there---and we are everywhere.

Summary: Touching and Powerful...a must have!!!
Review: This is the most heart-felt and beautiful movies I have seen in recent history. it has helped me to cope with so many things that I am going through in my life right now. I have to recomend this movie to anyone (gay, straight...WHOEVER!) It is especially wonderful in helping families to understand the gay life style. Brilliant performances are given and it is TRULY one of the most humerous and touching films to date, BRAVO

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most tasteful and significant coming-out movie to date
Review: I have seen many coming-of-age / coming-out movies, and to say that this movie is the best of this genre would be a gross understatement. I have yet to see a movie of this type done with as much taste, intelligence and honesty as this one. Uncluttered by the "side issues" of gay life, this movie focuses straight in on the most important and essential issues facing young gay youth: identity, conflict, and acceptance. Exceptional performances by Glen Berry and Scott Neil., but I must admit the standout performer in this movie is Linda Henry. This is a strongly recommended movie for gay teens who are exploring themselves, as well as for straight teens, who will gain a better understanding of how their gay counterparts feel. For those teens out there who may not know how to get the "coming out" dialog started with their family, this is the perfect movie to break the ice. Anyone who doesn't cry by the end of this movie will have missed the point.

Summary: Beautiful Thing is a great love story!
Review: What a great film! Absolutely the best gay-themed picture since Parting Glances. Funny, sad and a revelation; what more could one ask for in a gay picture?
