Summary: quite simply great!
Review: Notting hill (1995) Notting hill is one of the sharpest romantic comedys we have ever seen. The movie is funny, romantic and very thouching dough still a bit kitch. Julia roberts plays anna, a hollywood star (she does it very well unsurprisingly) who arrives by chance into Grant`s tiny book store wich is located in Notting Hill, and then the love novel begins. Usualy Julia`s pearly whites are the big draw in her movies but this time it is Grant the one to steal the film. He is simple, charming and incredibly wit, all this together make this unbelievable story seem posible after all. The movie`s supporting actors are very colorfull and very contributing to the tail. Especialy Grant`s roomate a realy goofy guy with bad hygine. If you have ever seen a movie that you can see 10 times in a road and never get sick of it you`ll understand how we fell about Notting Hill!

Summary: Notting Hill is a Wonderful Escape
Review: Who can resist a love story, no matter how predictable and frustrating! The chemistry, plot, character development and everything is just great...don't miss this one!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Sure, it's a chick-flick. But it's a good one.
Review: If you're a guy out there, and your better half is squeezing your arm to break your months-long string of 'guy movies,' get this one. What can I say? It was a good movie. No car chases, no light-sabers, no romping dinosaurs, and yet I was... entertained.

In all seriousness, Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are fabulous in this movie, set in England. Roberts plays, well, a Julia Roberts-like mega-star. And Hugh Grant plays, well, the average schmo. They fall in love and yada-yada-yada. But there's something about the duo's chemistry that seems to continuously press your romantic snuggle-button.

In short, there are romantic comedies and there are romantic comedies. This is certainly one of the better ones.

Summary: A lesson for coping with humiliation
Review: One star for Julia. She's as lovely as ever, but the rest of the movie just fit the 10 movies I have disliked the most. Hugh Grant is portrayed as a dumb guy with no self esteem whatsoever. His character just makes you sick the entire movie and you just wonder "How much more humiliation can this guy take?". This movie is full of phatetic characters.

Summary: A romantic movie as they should be..
Review: If you've ever had a movie (or 10) that you can watch over and over and never get sick of it, then you know how I feel about Notting Hill ! The story in simple terms is Boy meets Girl. Girl leaves in a snit. Girl comes crawling back. Twice. Boy turns down girl, realizing huge mistake in nick of time to win her back. However, the twist is, Will, the Boy, is a nobody, and Anna, the Girl, is the world's most famous actress. Throw in nosey press and a disgusting, belly-baring, slept-on haired roommate for the Boy, and you get just the right amount of hilarity (For example: Will finds Spike in the kitchen, and Spike says "There's something wrong with this yogurt..." and Will replies "That's not yogurt. It's mayonaise." Spike says "Oh, right." And continues to eat it. It's probably one of those 'guess you have to be there' kinds of things, but when you ARE there watching it, you will laugh 'til you have tears. If you can pretend for 90 minutes that a movie star could fall in love with Joe every guy, then this movie will be enjoyed immensely !

Summary: What is the big deal?
Review: I don't see what is so great about this movie - I think it's pretty dumb. Snobby actress "falls in love" with a bookstore owner, treats him like an unwanted dog and he still wants her back. PLEASE!

Summary: Notting Hill
Review: You can't find a tale like this one anymore. This truly is one of my favorite movies. It's the kind you can watch a million times and still want to see it again.

Summary: A feel good flick!
Review: Hello all- I thought this was a good movie, not great, but good. I like to watch it when I'm feeling a little down. It is entertaining, but holds no value other than that. There are some funny as well as sweet moments in the movie. It is really your basic love story and there are no surprises. If you like this genre of film, then I suggest you buy it. If not, then go out and rent it.

Summary: Cute Romantic Comedy!
Review: What would you do if one day a world-famous actor walked into your struggling bookstore? You find out in this romantic comedy destined for success. In one of Julia Roberts better roles, she acts straight from the heart, and her and Hugh Grant's chemistry surprisingly works quite well. Although at times it seems a bit dreary, the feeling quickly disappears when you see the press conference, in a wonderful conclusion to a sweet and charming "chick flick". All in all, this timeless tale is a heartwarming story of two people who make the perfect fit in an imperfect world.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Worth seeing, but not really a keeper
Review: I suggest seeing this DVD once, just for the sake of "educating" yourself about movies, but nothing more than that. There are a few downright hillarious moments, but the story line is fairly weak with very few surprises. You really can't categorize this movie, because there is no defining message that makes is a comedy or romance or whatever. Both stars have acted in terrific movies-- and this is not one of them.
