Summary: Re-release, please
Review: I agree it needs to be re-released, I too have checked with every outlet I know. It's a charming movie and very different. And anything that shows Rickman as a leading man gets my vote!

Summary: A powerful story of one woman's love and letting go.
Review: With committed acting and admirable direction, Truly, Madly, Deeply, presents the story of a woman who has lost her love. Impossible to continue with life and fearful of forgetting the past, she begins to experience her love's presence everyday, and in powerful ways. She begins to hear him, and soon after he appears before her. After long, they are again living together. Captured brilliantly by the actors and the direction is the pain of living too close to someone you love. The two begin to annoy each other in simple ways. Soon, a whole host of "ghosts" are living in her flat and moving her furniture. Then she meets a man. Outside of her flat, the world continues and she must continue, but she finds it difficult while living such a dark, yet fantastic life inside of her flat, with her lost love and all of his friends. She finally realizes in a discussion with the ghost that she must continue on. There is no longer a place for him in her life, or at least in the life she must find. Her actions hereafter are both surprising and upsetting. This is the most wonderful love story ever captured on film.

Summary: I loved it.
Review: I have never seen a film which moved me so much. Ghost has absolutely nothing on this film.

It must be an incredible feeling to love someone like that. Stevenson and Rickman made us see that it is indeed possible.

Summary: This is the most outstanding video I have ever seen.
Review: Ms. Stevenson is incredible. This role was created for her and she does an outstanding job. The emotions portrayed in this film truly capture the angst one experiences after a loss and the happiness associated with moving on. You must watch it more than once.

Summary: One of my all time favorite films
Review: This is a beautiful film. As I said in my title, it is one of my all time favorites. The other reviews will give you the story line. Suffice it to say, the acting, cinematography, and direction are flawless. I saw this film right after my mother's death and the emotions portrayed of loss and acceptance are spot on. A masterpiece.

Summary: Wonderful! (Bring your hankie.)
Review: A lovely little British drama (with some comedy), "Truly, Madly, Deeply" examines the stages of one woman's grief, from agonizing loneliness to the acceptance of new love. Juliet Stevenson plays Nina, whose lover, Jamie (Alan Rickman) has just died. She is miserable and inconsolable until, one day, he comes back! At first, it's wonderful - just like the good old days - but then his annoying little habits start to really bother her and, in a quirky plot twist, his dead pals move in with them.

Fans of the wonderful Alan Rickman will certainly enjoy his offbeat, funky portrayal of the late Jamie, a man who seems to revel in being a selfish slob. He and Juliet Stevenson share a musical duet that is not to be missed. This film probably qualifies as a "chick flick," but don't let that put you off; it is very special, very touching, and a must-see in my opinion. If you've ever lost someone you loved very much, you'll feel right at home here and doubtless shed a few tears at the bittersweet ending. This is "Ghost" without the sappy sentimentality. Heartily recommended.

Summary: For those who've ever loved, and lost....
Review: Cannot say enough words to state how wondrous this movie is, touching...delightful, and full of pathos. For a woman actress, one of the greatest roles...played lovinging by Juliet Stevenson....and Alan Rickman is such a spectacular artist.

Worth every penny, buy this and preserve it.

Summary: Fabulously, Astoundingly, Hauntingly Acted, Truly Moving
Review: This movie is far superior to "Ghost," to which it is often compared. It is deceptive, I think, to call it a "thinking man's Ghost," because, while it is entertaining, and even funny, at times, it is essentially a study of a woman's journey through intense grief. The first half of the film is a real tear jerker as Nina struggles with her grief. Her joy at the arrival (apparently truly in the flesh) of her dead lover's Ghost does little to mitigate the intensity of the sorrow we feel on Nina's behalf. From reviews I have read of this movie, it appears many men are uncomfortable with the intensity of this movie. Perhaps this is best seen as a "woman's movie." It is one of my favorites, if, for no other reason than Stevenson's acting, which is among the very best I've ever seen on screen. Watch the scene where she first realizes her lover is returned and see for yourself what I mean. Alan Rickman is a compelling and charismatic as ever. It is a haunting film, highly recommended.
