Summary: "Unfaithful" & "Perfect Storm" star DIANE LANE in her debut!
Review: "A Little Romance" was the very first film to star the wonderful DIANE LANE who has since become a big star in films like "Unfaithful", "The Perfect Storm" and "Murder At 1600". She shows here, even at 12 years old, that she is a capable and beguiling actress. She plays Lauren with a quirkiness that is very cute and warming. LAURENCE OLIVIER is of course, brilliant as well and the two have a great chemistry. This film has grown in popularity over the years and now that DIANE LANE is an A-List star, maybe it will get a DVD release. A heart-warming and involving love story with great footage of Paris and Venice. Great! Very recommended!

Summary: TOUCHING,HONEST,BEAUTIFUL, DIANE'S BEST
Review: A Little Romance is one of those films that once you see it, it will stay with you forever. It is nothing but mesmerising, touching, funny honest, gentle, beautiful. This is a film made for every age. Diane Lane,Therlonious Bernard, Laurence Olivier are fantastic. The scenary of Venis is absolutely beautiful and there's something about the film that gentle and honest. Diane Lane like always is excellent. There's always something about Diane, you can see in her performances that she is older than her years, which I adore about her. Diane is just gorgeous as always. I definitely recommend this film to anyone that wants a little romance in their lives.

Summary: No romance is ever "leetle." This one is "beeg."
Review: A very young (13-ish) couple pursue their dream of kissing beneath the Bridge of Sighs, in Venice, like the 19th century Brownings. As they pursue this dream, they themselves are pursued by the girl's slightly confused and flustered parents. Laurence Olivier, as the young couple's ill-informed yet good-hearted chaperone-along-for-the-ride, is resourceful and fun in every scene. This movie is fantastic.

Diane Lane is elegant but not snobby, as the girl, in a role that marked the first film in her quirky, interesting career. The boy was a bit of a hothead -- he may have put some audiences off, which could explain why he wasn't in more films. Anyway, every single scene is beautifully shot, with innovative camera work and breathtaking French and Italian scenery. It's a great little love story, very high on the list of my favorites. If you enjoy this, let me also recommend "Somewhere in Time," starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve, and, for different reasons, "Beautiful Girls," starring Natalie Portman and Timothy Hutton. This is a very, very good movie. Two thumbs up.

Summary: Superb, funny, heart-warming romantic comedy
Review: And don't miss one of Olivier's finer movie performances! This is a tale of young love, with a pair of genuinely likeable young lovers, who are trying to escape the (largely clumsy) machinations of the grown-ups around them, and to make a binding promise of eternal love. Laurence Olivier plays an old man who becomes caught up in their tale, and decides to help them out. Many complications ensue. Oh -- and the sound track is just magnificent, plus lovely shots of Venice, Paris and other places in Europe. I really hope that a DVD of this movie is released soon. Highest recommendation! This one is really worth going out of your way to see.

Review: Don't miss this movie.
I fell in love with this film in the early 80's when they ran it on cable and I've been waiting anxiously for it to be released on DVD.
This one is in my list of best movies of all time. Diane Lane and Thelonious Bernard are brilliant and as always, Lawrence Olivier is not to be missed.

Summary: Enchanting film
Review: Enchanting is a good word for this George Roy Hill film. It follows a romantic relationship between a young American girl(Diane Lane) and a french boy she meets. It's really got that sort of "storybook" feel to it that makes it really resonate. Read some of the other passionate reviews for more details if you like, but I can't stress how much you should just watch it-you'll love it!

Summary: Wonderful movie!
Review: Every time I think about or see this movie, I sigh. I was only a baby when this movie came out, then about a year or two ago, I came across this movie on one of the movie channels. I fell in love instantly. This movie, about young love is so inspirational and I recommend that everyone see it. I now dream of a trip to Venice, so I can go under the Bridge of Sighs in a gondola, when the bells toll!

Summary: A Little Romance
Review: Great story for both young and old. A tale of innocent love that should be the basis of all love relationships. The actors are classic and a great mixture of young and old. We have let our older children see a taped video and they never left the screen. Let's get it on DVD.

Summary: If you are a romantic at heart we will always love it
Review: I have seen this movie first time when I was 20 and many times since. Today I order the movie for my daughter and hope she will love it as much as I did and always will. This movie is a lesson about dreaming and beleiving, a lesson about the young inocence, freshness, life first pain when we start to love and be afraid to loose that someone. If you are young it will make you dream, if you are still young at heart you will sheed a tear for yourself for your lost years. See this movie!. I wish there were more movies like this.
