Summary: this is such a great film...
Review: it is a really shame this movie is currently not avaliable for sale. i picked up my copy soon after it was released and i'm glad i did! muriel's wedding is often overlooked, but very worthy of a glance. toni collette is a wonderful actress in this as well as more recent films like the sixth sense. remember the little boys mother? muriel is a REAL character unlike some movies where you don't even give a second thought to them after its all over. this is the way i felt about heather in the blair witch, but thats just my two cents, for what its worth.

Summary: One to Relate To!
Review: I have loved this movie since the first time I rented it. I think almost everyone can relate to someone within the movie at any point. Muriel also found out that love is bigger than fancy wedding with "important" guests. If you haven't seen it yet, see it today!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I fell in love with "Muriel" when I first saw it and now I have the DVD. Excellent movie, well-written and acted. I love the bittersweet taste it leaves behind and I think the film is a major success for Toni Collette. Love her!

Summary: Even guys like this 'chick-flick'
Review: Muriel starts out as a mu-mu who 'runs away' from home and transforms herself by choice into a innocent, yet fun-loving chick that I certainly would want to hang around with. She even gets her "arranged" husband who initially thinks she's insipid and unattractive to suddenly want her company. She gains independence from her own confidence (and a little stolen cash from her Dad, who turns out to be a cheating S.O.B. anyway). Muriel is sweet, silly, endearing yet still understanding herself and trying to enjoy everything about being a woman.

Summary: Excellent and the Funniest movie I have ever seen.......

Summary: A Georgie girl for the nineties
Review: Muriel's Wedding is one of the best films made in Australia or anywhere else in the world and I thank the Aussies for being less than "beautiful" and being more than honest. This is life and the giddy illusions of Muriel become breathtakingly sad when one comes to understand her home life or watches her mother's slow destruction. The movie is also optimistic and proves that we can change our fantasies for reality and yet survive. This is one of the most beautiful stories ever put to film and requires more than one viewing. I salute Australians and Australian film making. When Americans are through blowing things up and wallowing in special effects, maybe they can return to the small and intricate beauty of the human soul and how it's formed.

Summary: Funny
Review: I was... well... it was the most hilarious movie I have ever seen! I was laughing out loud the whole time! It is a must see!

Summary: Boring
Review: This movie intersperses prolonged and whiney ugly duckling boredom with an occasional humorous scene. Certainly not as good an Austrailian comedy as Ballroom Dancing.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a terrifically funny and touching movie. A must !
Review: I have watched this movie several times. It's the kind of movie that is even better the second time that you see it. I would highly recommend this movie to teenagers and adults.

Summary: A 90's Fairy Tale set to the tunes of ABBA!
Review: Toni Collette is Muriel, a young woman in Austrailia who, more than anything else, wants to get married. Not to anyone in particular, and not for the sake of commitment, but because the wedding would be grand and romantic and it would mean she's "arrived". She learns a lot of lessons about how not to take things for granted, and how to do the right thing. None of this sounds very funny at all, but if you assumed that you'd be wrong, because it is one HILARIOUS movie! Plus, all the Austrailian accents are really cool. A must see.
