Rating: Summary: New Christopher Guest movie in Y2K! "Dogumentary" Review: Hi, wanted to agree with everyone about the amazing hilarity of this movie. I especially wanted to comment on the work of Bob Balaban as the music director. "I think we need to make a schedule." Also wanted to let everybody know that I read on the Internet Movie Database that Guest is starring in and directing a new movie with Levy, Balaban, Posey, O'Hara, and MICHAEL MCKEAN that's supposed to come out some time in Y2K. ! In parting I just want to add "how high a ridge, I could not tell!"
Rating: Summary: Thank you Christopher Guest! Review: Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy have written by far the funniest movie I have ever seen. Every line is quotably hilarious! Not a minute goes by that I am not rolling on the floor laughing. The whole cast is amazing in their portrayal of Blainians. Though incredibly funny, Waiting for Guffman certainly is an acquired taste. If you love it, you will LOVE it. A must see!
Rating: Summary: Red, White, and Blaine Review: Fantastic movie! Christopher Guest is amazing! He deserves two thumbs up way up! Entertaining and funny. A film you will enjoy. You can't go through the whole movie with out laughing.CORKY!
Rating: Summary: Nothing ever happens on Mars.. Review: Superb movie... Corky St Clair (Guest) is a dancing revelation... Love the "Remains of the Day" Lunchbox.. Brave need more wampum to buy pelts
Rating: Summary: Waiting For Another Movie Like This Review: Fantastic movie!Christopher Guest deserves two thumbs up! way up! Entertaining and funny. Can't wait for another movie directed by Christopher Guest. Eugene Levy and Parker Posy also deserve two thumbs up!
Rating: Summary: RARE TREAT Review: Actually FUNNIER each time you view it, Waiting For Guffman may not be for everyone, but MY GOD if it is, you will know instantly, and you will be laughing with the rest of us. A mockumentary featuring brilliantly outlandish caricatures by the entire cast, surely it was the riotous and demented mind of Christopher Guest at the helm of this creative concoction that brought it all to dazzling life onscreen. My favorites include Parker Posey's Dairy Queen monologues, O'Hara and Willard's audition with Midnight At The Oasis, and of course the full-blown Red White and Blaine finale. Though a touch more sentiment might have pushed this into the mainstream (there is, after all, a pathetic underbelly to all this looniness), for anyone who ever worked on a show anywhere, there are treats galore here.
Rating: Summary: REALLY, REALLY GOOD! Review: Falls in line with the "classics" like "Spinal Tap". Like "Spinal Tap", it must be viewed more than once to pick up on all of the funny moments.
Rating: Summary: Christopher Guest Please Make more Mockumentaries. Review: This movie is brilliant from start to finish and worth watching over and over. This movie is the most hillarious I have ever seen. Christopher Guest is a genious and I can't wait for his next project.
Rating: Summary: Join the cult! Review: Christopher Guest let his characters improvise their scenes, and write their dialogue -- and the BRILLIANCE of these comic actors will amaze you. "Waiting for Guffman" is has a gigantic cult following among actors everwhere -- from Broadway to Blaine, Missouri ... and it's the kind of comedy that IMPROVES with multiple viewings. If you're in the mood for some original, fresh, and intelligent humor, buy this film! It's a perfect Christmas gift for any theatre lover.
Rating: Summary: Boring ... Boring ... Boring Review: No, not the film. Mars. "Nothing ever happens on Mars ..." This movie cracked me up, and still does. I find myself singing the songs in my head at work and then i just start laughing hysterically. O'Hara, Posey and the rest are perfectly cast (but when are they not?) If you like offbeat humor, if you've ever been in theatre (and can laugh at the whole concept), if you feel like you're living on mars and bored to tears, you'll appreciate this film.
