Review: I don't care what anyone says, George Lazenby wasn't that bad. He just had the misfortune to be the first to follow Connery. This actually has some of the best stunts and action sequences out of the series. It also has a reasonably good villain (Telly Savalis as Blofeld, although it bothers me that Blofeld wouldn't recognize Bond), beautifully shot sequences and my favourite Bond girl (Diana Rigg) mainly because she's not just a piece of meat. To be honest, I doubt Connery would have been able to pull of that rather emotional ending.

Review: It may not be From Russia With Love but it certainly has strengths. The direction is great, Diana Rigg is the only bond girl that brings out a human flaw as all the girls in the books had. The theme tune and song are unforgetable and have become quietly popular. Connory may not be playing bond but really connary never realy bothered to bring out the real charecter of James Bond

Summary: A 007 Classic
Review: "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" remains the best James Bond film to date. In retrospect, it's fitting that Sean Connery chose to sit this one out, since the Bond depicted in this film is more romantic and vulnerable. With George Lazenby as 007, you actually believe Bond would give up everything to marry Tracy. It's a pity that Lazenby didn't continue -- he was superior to Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton, though less polished than Connery and Pierce Brosnan. On the other hand, Lazenby's one-time performance adds to the film's uniqueness. Director Peter Hunt gives "OHMSS" a cinematic flair sorely lacking in most Bond films. It also has some of the finest action sequences in movie history. John Barry's excellent score is the best of the series (the soundtrack should be reissued on CD with additional material). In terms of direction, scripting, casting and cinematography, "OHMSS" remains in a class by itself.

Summary: My personal favorite
Review: You can't beat this Bond film to any other. It gets better and better every time I see it. This year is it's 30th Anniversary and UA/MGM are waiting until Spring 2000 to release it on DVD. No respect. Well, then again when did it? The laser disc version is a little grainy and needs a remaster job. I can't wait to see what great effects they will do to it then. This is no ordinary Bond movie. Connery is not here and thank God because I could never see him getting in to this Bond character. He wasn't looking very good at the time and I believe things happen for a reason. Don't get me wrong, Sean is the best but not for this movie. He gave the character all of the ingredients to success but this one needed a fresh approach and George Lazenby did it. He wasn't an actor but they didn't need one. He was the true Bond. He exhibited what a real spy would do and feel. He became someone we could relate to. His action sequences were the best of any Bond. HE knew how to throw a punch. No stunt doubles here. Unlike the statuesque Roger Boore. He looked great and he portrayed Bond the way Fleming described in the book. I give him his due. He got a bad rap and he was foolish to leave but then again if he stayed, he would have been in THE worst of them all: Diamonds Are Forever (what a joke!) His legacy then would be completely shot. Savalas was the best Blofeld, Diana Rigg carried George along in the romantic scenes and it really seemed as though they were in love; even if they couldn't stand each other in real life. No Bond movie should go unnoticed of the score. Sometimes it makes or breaks it. John Barry is superb. (When are they going to get him BACK!) (WISE UP MGM-HE IS THE BEST!) If you notice, there isn't a lot of music but what there is is special. In particular is the background suspense music when he is cracking the safe in Gumpold's office; and the beautiful arrangement played when Bray(Bond) and Irma Bunt are in the helicopter flying over Piz Gloria. It all fits magnificently. How about the quips sayed in that scene between Bond and Bunt, Lazenby is subliminally making fun of her left and right. Before the new movie comes out, watch this classic. It really gets involved into Bond's personal life. "The World Is Not Enough" is the meaning of the crest motto of his ancestry that is told to him by Sir Hillary Bray in "OHMSS". I would imagine there will be some sort of correlation between the two films. Forget that this is a Bond film and get into the story. You'll love it and you won't miss the gadgets.

Summary: Don't Dismiss This One Just Yet!
Review: All right, yes, it does not have Sean Connery as James Bond. In fact, George Lazenby is not that memorable in the role. However, it is a memorable film, for several reasons. First, it is the longest, I believe, and it moves rather well. Second, we are introduced to Blofeld number 2: Telly Savalas. At least they kept him bald! Third, James Bond finally falls in love. Diana Rigg plays his love Tracy. However, just when they are getting comfortable with each other, Bond must infiltrate Blofeld's Swiss hideout to see what the devil the gangster is up to, and bring him in. Bond is found out, and a series of ski chases ensues. What makes this movie work is the action sequences, and the great music score, including a recurring theme by Louis Armstrong. This was Lazenby's only outing as Bond, luckily, and it is a great film anyway.

Summary: A masterpiece of espionage/ The Top 2 Bonds
Review: Wow! This movie gets better every time you watch it.I have seen it about 25 time now and it's better every time. This film clealry raises action cinema to an artform, and definitly raised the bar on the Bond films. Would surely have been the best in the series if Connery were Bond, but all things considered, George does a fine job as Bond, especially in the action scenes.

Summary: He's no Sean Connery but...
Review: Lazenby doesn't give off that suave tough guy attitude that Connery does but this in my opinion is still a great movie. It has one of the more original plots (not nuculear warfare), Rigg does a great job as the Bond girl, and OHMSS has by far the best Blofeld. Don't write it off because you like the other Bonds better give it a chance.

Summary: 'OHMSS' is an overlooked Bond masterpiece
Review: Too many Bond fans have never seen this terrific entry in the series. True, George Lazenby is no Sean Connery--but who is? He did a fine job in the unenviable task of filling Connery's shoes. And the movie has so much going for it: spectacular action scenes that are among the best the in the entire series; Bond falling in love with Diana Rigg (who else but "Emma Peel" could light 007's fire?); Telly Savalas as a demented Blofeld; and a thrilling score from the incomparable John Barry. (Soundtrack fans should check out the stellar 10-minute remix of the 'OHMSS' Main Theme on the 1998 CD release from England's Propellerheads.) And then there's that final scene...

Summary: This movie was an action packed thriller full of excitment
Review: Although George Lazenby did a poor job as acting the movie was still the swab and devenaior as most James Bond movies. I do suggest renting first but It is a great movie! The abscence of Connery seriously effected this movie.
