Review: Hey Twentieth Century Fox if you whant to make better $$$ off the old BATMAN, release the episods with The GREEN HORNET & KATO on DVD! Be Sure to mention on the box BRUCE LEE and all the collecters including ME! will buy. I know about 500 people who would love to get there hands on those episodes I think there are two if I remember?

Summary: Campy Fun at its Absolute Extreme.
Review: This DVD has been a Long Time Coming (and for the Uninitiated, it may meet Quite a Shock). Whether you Love this film or Hate it, there are a Few things that Everyone has to admit. It's Campy, it's Fun and it's... Colourful. "Batman - The Movie" couldn't be Anymore Different that Tim Burton's Revisioning, while Tim's is a Classic for Obvious Reasons, this one is a Classic for Stranger reasons. It's a Classic for how Crap it is."Batman - The Movie" is Absolutely Stocked with Memorable scenes and Lines of Dialogue, who can forget the Shark Attack scene in Mid Air, or the "Zap", "Pow" and "Clank" every time our Heroes Throw their Fists around. Performance wise, the film is a Pure Antidote to Subtlety, every performance is Utterly Wired. The words "Tone Down" were obviously Not in the Directors Vocabulary. Adam West takes on his Four Arch Villains, the Joker looks and Acts like an Evil Ronald McDonald, The Joker Hops and Giggles and that's about It, the Penguin and Catwoman are the more Subtle of the Villains (Paving the way for Danny De Vito's and Michelle Pfeiffer's Utterly Warped Versions). Batman and Robin keep their performances in the 2D Comic book world, and Quite Rightly So. I feel Sorry for the Poor Schmoe who mistakes this for Burtons Batman; they are in for a Rude Surprised. In the end, whether you Laugh At it or With it, It's a Fun, Funny and.. Different Comic Book Adaption. But Where did the Term "The Dark Knight" come from, Certainly no from this Explosion of Colour.

Summary: Campy fun arrives on DVD
Review: Adam West and Burt Ward star in this extremely campy flick. One of the only films based on a TV show released in the middle of its run, it was seen as a cash in at the time. It's still greatfun to Mystery Science Theatre your way through it with friends or to just watch it as a 2 hour diversion. Fox is delivering what looks to be like a great special edition DVD. The batmobile tour should a blast, along with the trailers and tv spots. The best part though? A commentary by Burt Ward and Adam West. I bet they have some interesting anecdotes to share.

Review: Back when Batman was the big thing in 1989 thanks to Tim Burton's visionary and haunting summer blockbuster, I spotted this film at Blockbuster and begged my dad if we could rent it. After all, what kid didn't love Batman after seeing the '89 version? Naturally, I loved the movie. I was naive and loved anything related to Batman back then. But now... Now it's just plain silly. I haven't seen it in years and I finally watched it tonight on UPN. I really couldn't stop laughing at it. When I was younger, I took the "suspense" and action sequences a lot more seriously than I do now. "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!" Picture me with a straight face on the edge of my seat trying to conjure up just exactly how Batman will get out of this one. And just imagine the relief I felt when the bat-copter landed on that giant pad of foam rubber! WHEW! I think the only sequence which is truly silly to anyone of any age is the now infamous shark scene. I'll challenge anyone not to burst out laughing when Batman starts kicking the rubber shark with his foot. The acting is bad, the story is ridiculous and the fight sequences are badly choreographed. But seriously folks. The masterminds behind this movie could NOT have been taking it seriously when they made it. It's just all in good fun... at least I hope so, for the filmmakers' sake. Batman the Movie is one of those films everyone enjoys but refuses to admit it. If the Razzie Awards had existed back in the 60's, this one would go down in history as the champ. It's technically a bad film, but that's a good thing (if that makes sense).

Review: Great flick! The action scenes are fantastic! The scene where the shark attacked Batman was absolutely terrifying. The shark looked totally realistic! I thought it was going to bite Batman's leg off. POW!!! There's also a scene in which Batman has to avoid a huge bomb. BOP!!! Batman narrowly avoided certain death. It was really scary. If you have young kids, you might want to keep them away from this movie - this movie will give them nightmares for years.. KABOOM!!! The producers spared no expense in creating this movie. This is definitely one of the most realistic action movies ever. Watch it. BLAMMO!!!

Summary: Just plain bizzare
Review: This movie, released in the 0h-so-groovy sixties makes a mockery out of the Bob Kane character known as the Dark Knight. As cute as Burt Ward (who I have always had a crush on)is during this film, the acting is horrendous and junior high theater troupes could put on a better dialouge than the characters in this release (and Bruce Wayne was supposed to be intellectual!). People expecting the marvelous craftmanship of Tim Burton will be sorely disappointed by the quickly tiresome script. While it is not as garish as the two Schumacher fiascos, the lighting and set design scream bad psychedelic trip. I realize that some studio execs may have thought they were being "cool and current by encouraging this arrangement", but some of the scences are just out there and likely will not make sense to anybody unless they are intoxicated, stoned or profoundly impaired. The infamous bat-shark repellent scene was one of the most cheesy in history. Even by acting and special effects standards back then, it makes Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey look like gifted Harvard and Yale thespians. I really feel sorry for the special effects people who had their names attached to this project because it was not worth it. I also feel sorry for the actors who are unwillingly stereotyped and/or out of work because of ther involvement with this film.

Summary: The Pre-Dark Knight Batman
Review: Campy, but very entertaining Batman movie with Adam West and Burt Ward playing the Dynamic Duio who must save the world from the likes of the Joker, Catwoman, the Penquin, and the Ridler. The story comes straight from a comic book, but that;s okay. It's entertaining and the whole family can enjoy it. (How many films can you say that about these days). this was Batman before Warner Brothers regretfully got their hands on the characters, and they have never been the same since.

Summary: HOLY GREAT MOVIE BATMAN !!!
Review: There is only one man worthy enough to slide down the Batpole and slip into the distinquished cape and cowl of Gotham City's mythic crimefighting hero-- and that man is Adam West!! Batman and his brown-nosing sidekick Robin (Burt Ward)are absolutely hysterical as they deadpan their way through this live-action comic book story.(Complete with comic book captions such as WHAM!,POW! and KABOOM!!) And yet, while the Caped Crusaders may take themselves seriously, we the audience can only laugh our way through this delicious campfest. Quite possibly the most enjoyable element of this film --produced in 1966 to capitalize on the enormously popular TV series-- is the sinister gallery of villains. This time around Gotham City is terrorized by not one, but FOUR supervillains. Cesar Romero(Joker), Burgess Meredith(Penguin)and Frank Gorshin(Riddler)reprise their dastardly TV roles. Lee Meriwether(Catwoman) subs for Julie Newmar who, on the TV series, was the PURR-fect feline femme fatale. The costumes and mannerisms of all four are outrageous. To call them merely over-the-top would be akin to calling the Batmobile an ordinary two-door sedan. Their deathtraps, designed to doom the Dynamic Duo, are sadistically ingenious.(Although never 100% escape-proof!) Over the years this movie, and the TV series, have attracted a huge following. Purists, reared on the original darker version of Batman, often cringe at the mere mention of this film. But, who cares? This isn't meant to satisfy purists -- it's meant to entertain. And on that level "Batman" succeeds 100%!

Summary: Holy Bat Crap, Batman!
Review: Man... what can I say? This is like watching a comic book from the 60's. Its so cheesy that I felt myself becoming stupider watching it. Adam Wests dramatically over acts, however the villians are pretty good. So take everything you know from the Frank Miller Batman and trash it. This is the cheesey-out of shape-one liner Bats that for some reason... I seem to enjoy watching.
