Summary: Universal Fixed The Problem With The Pillow Talk DVD!
Review: This is a good boxset and I like all of the movies but Pillow Talk is the best of the movies and I want to point out that Universal has realized that there was a framing problem with the anamorphic Pillow Talk DVD that was released in April of 2004 and has fixed the problem and is offering replacement Pillow Talk DVDs. I'm not sure if they are including the one in the boxset or just the DVD sold seperatley but It's worth looking into!

Summary: Beautiful packaging, outstanding value
Review: Three DVDs and a CD for less than $25! The packaging is beautiful with lots of cool photos from each movie. I am a big Doris Day fan and I bought this as a gift for my 8-week-old daughter (OK-- maybe I bought it for me!). With all the unsuitable garbage being pumped out the last few decades by Hollywood, I look forward to the day I can curl up on the couch with a tub of popcorn and share these old movies with her!

Review: Universal Studios has released for the first time on DVD "The Rock Hudson and Doris Day Romance Collection" a series of their most memorable romance comedies of the 1950's & 60's. This Collection is a cleverly assemblage of 3 movies in Anamorphic WideScreen (picture automatically adjusts to the viewers screen size including 16:9 HDTV Home theatre but not enhanced) with Dolby 2.0 mono sound. The only extra fearures are trailer and some Production notes.
Summary: "Pillow Talk (1959)" - Was Hudson (his first comedy role) & Days (she is awesome) first and best movie together. Day's performance got her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy - lost. This delightful romantic comedy that started it all uniting Hudson & Day 2 of the screens most popular and enduring stars. They are 2 single professionals who find themselves sharing a partyline (telephone situation of the 50's) and a whole lot more in this delightful comedy. The funny & witty Tony Randall co-stars in all 3 of these movies. This movie is their best and alone is worth the price of addmission. "Lover Come Back (1961)" - Is their 2nd film and just okay in my opinion. They play are couple of rivalry advertising executives who are both after the same account and eventually each other in this outrageous romantic comedy. "Send Me No Flowers (1964)" - Almost a stupid kind of movie has hypochondriac husband (Hudson) and his wife (Day) happily healthful married and he is suddenly in critical condition following a mistaken diagnosis in this heartwarming comedy of errors. ALSO INCLUDED "The Doris Say Romance Music Collection CD" an eight song mini sampler of her greatest hits to include; Secret Love (from her 1950 musical "Calamity Jane"), Lover Come Back, High Hopes, Send Me No Flowers, Pillow Talk, Pretty Baby, Makin' Whoppie and What Ever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera (from Hitchcocks 'THe Man Who Knew To Much Best Song Oscar Winner)). This was a great Bonus !!!.Universals clever packaging provides us with a nice sample of the great romantic comedy team Rock Hudson and Doris Day. Plus the the triple threat talents of Doris Day especially her singing CD. This is fun stuff but renting first to sample it's staying power. Enjoy.

Summary: The Pillow Talk DVD is Flawed but the Other Two Are Fine!
Review: Warning! Most of the positive reviews here are giving high praise to the movies and they are indeed excellent movies and a couple of the reviews have given high praise to the boxset itself, yes the boxset cover has a nice design and the boxset is put together well but it's the status of the DVDs that I am more interested in. Send Me No Flowers & Lover Come Back are great movies and are hilariously funny but it is very true that The Pillow Talk DVD is messed up and that is my favorite of Doris and Rock's movies but it's a shame that the anamorphic widescreen transfer was messed up so badly which I read was due to misframing. In some scenes the top of Rock's head is cut off and in one scene part of Tony Randall's face is missing. I wonder how they could have done such a good job with the anamorphic transfers for Send Me Now Flowers & Lover Come Back but messed up Pillow Talk! I'm seriously thinking of either selling this boxset or giving it to a friend and buying the individual DVDs for Send Me No Flowers & Lover Come Back and the old Letterbox Pillow Talk DVD. Sorry but I just can't give 5 stars and high praise to a set that has a flawed DVD of my favorite Doris & Rock movie!

Summary: Nothing better than watching Doris Day and Rock Hudson
Review: We all gathered around the family TV to watch a wholesome family movie that was clean, funny, entertaining and just plain fun. Both my teen daughters found the movie entertaining. I'm so glad I bought the DVD set because all three movies were great, the music CD was wonderful, and the packaging was beautiful. Worth every penny spent for several evenings of delightul fun.

Pillow Talk "You're my inspiration..." Jan Morrow (Doris Day) is an interior decorator that relies on her telephone for business. Brad Allen (Rock Hudson) is a songwriter who relies on his telephone for monkey business. Turns out that they both share the same party line. Yep you saw it coming. Unknown to either of them, the Broadway producer that Brad is writing for, Jonathan Forbes (Tony Randall), is as close to love with Doris day as he was with his previous wives. Putting two and two together, rock Hudson realizes that his party line antagonist is a blonde cutie.
Knowing that he does not have a chance with her if he reveals his true identity, he takes on Texas persona (Rex Stetson.) Will this work? Will Tony Randall find out? Better still will Doris day find out the truth? Will decorating sense prevail? This could get ugly.
Look for the split screen scenes while they are talking on the phone. And Doris gets a chance to sing.

Lover Come Back Just a touch mam This is an explosive tale. Rock and Doris are rival advertising execs with different approaches to doing business. Carol Templeton (Doris) thinks Jerry Webster (Rock) is unethical in his business practices and while trying to catch him at it is also trying to steel his next account. Jerry on the other hand is just trying to catch Carol and parries her attack with the VIP girl. While he is occupied with the chase, Peter 'Pete' Ramsey proceeds to sell VIP. Things just heat up from there. My favorite part is where Tony Randall uses a moose call and gets what he wants.

Send Me No Flowers A good Day film This film can also be found as part of the Doris day collection. Not the best one in the collection but still a great comedy with Doris Day Tony Randall and Rock Hudson. The Rock Hudson knows he is dying and has to find Doris Day another husband.
